Nope, filters are all dry, infact I rode it for quite a long ride, it didn't show any sign of trouble. By hip deep i meant to my hip level, anyway, i was not keeping it stationary, the bike waded through it, and the water was just below the engine head when I rode through it. And it was just a short distance, maybe 100-200mOriginally posted by siddharthsure View PostHip deep seriously?? Some information about the fork oil leak problem. Apparently KTM engineers analyzed the problem on the and found that the actual problem in majority of cases is not breaking of the seal but small particles of dust. They allow small oil seepage. So the fix right now is just to clean the forks with a special tool they have developed.KTM Duke 390 | RE Interceptor 650

Fuel issues: Was using Indian Oil petrol in the past and was facing a poor throttle response from standstill and a zero response at 4500-5000 rpm. Consulted the SVC one final time before writing to KTM. Here is what they did:
1. Removed the complete fuel from the tank. Dropped some of the fuel on the ground. Could see a viscous fluid unlike Petrol (guess it was Kerosene mixed).
2. Dried the fuel tank in the sun for a good 20 minutes (pic attached)
3. Changed the oil filter located below the tank
4. Refilled with BP
Bike is good now. Word of caution on the fuel you use.
Any purity check that can be carried out at the petrol pump before refilling? There is no better therapy than riding a bike down a straight road at full throttle with the sound of the engine for company.

Just what I said - the issue in most cases is due to small dust particles and not breaking of seal. KTM engineers have developed a cleaning tool. But it is still in testing phase. Being in Pune, the engineers regularly visit the SVC and they are trying this out right now. Might not still be available at your location.Originally posted by Legend Racer View Postneed more info please. im hunting this problem for long. on top of forks i can see dust/ slight oil seepage... I was warned against Indian oil bunks by my friend who has a ninja 650. They always do some "jhol" in their bunks. Some dispense less fuel than indicated, other adultrate the fuel. In most cases the fuel is spiked with additives. Ok for desi bikes but absolute killer for foreign bikes. Its just the way they are.

What is the feedback on Bharat Petroleum then? It is the only choice I am left with anyway!Originally posted by Balgi View PostI was warned against Indian oil bunks by my friend who has a ninja 650. BP bunks are good...But always better to fill your tank with the company operated ones rather than filling at any petrol station. The company operated ones are more pure than the retailers.Originally posted by mustang28 View PostWhat is the feedback on Bharat Petroleum then? BP is good bro. You have to watch out sometimes as in smaller bunks they try to short change you (give you 98/- fuel for 100/- and say "quantity will be same Saar") but otherwise its fuel quality is consistent between bunks and best part is no additives. They are trustworthy.

Noob question, but How do you identify a company operated petrol station of BP?Originally posted by TheArcher84 View PostBP bunks are good...But always better to fill your tank with the company operated ones rather than filling at any petrol station. Usually it will have a board put up saying Company owned, Company operated etcOriginally posted by mustang28 View PostNoob question, but How do you identify a company operated petrol station of BP?
And yes, avoid Indian Oil as much as possible (Not when you go to Ladakh though, they are the only ones there

, the bike showed no signs of struggle even when going through hip deep waters. Funny thing was a car guy who gave a long stare wondering how I was able to manage through the water while his car broke down
