So would there be a way to reduce the seat height? Even half or one inch would be a huge gain for me, so any suggestions?
I have heard of suspension adjustments (not sure what its called) which can reduce seat height (basically when you sit on it, the suspension being a little looser, the seat also goes down lower with your weight). Is this there in these bikes?
I am really keen on these bikes, so any help?

PS A small question is that RC seat height is given as 830mm, while duke is 800mm, yet RC feels lower than the Duke, how is that possible?
Bro, not to discourage you or something, given your height. I am not so sure that RC390 would be easy on you. You would feel extra pressure on your wrists and back while riding on it.

Regarding the seat height.. Sorry bro..I don't think you can..the preload adjuster adjusts the preload, it is not intended to make the seat lower it just makes the suspension softer or harder (the seat does go down a touch but that is a byproduct rather than the purpose of the adjuster). You need to change the dogbones at the bottom of the rear suspension unit to make a significant difference. You can also try change your seat with an aftermarket seat and try wearing boots.. That should help.

Also try the following link which I found the other day. Hope this help. Good luck!

Today, the svc guy told me that if I changey headlight to philips xtreme vision, it will void my warranty. Any idea if it's true? I am not modifying anything afaik

ASVC says the same for other brand too. I have asked for a Dual-Horn for my CBR and they replied with the same. So I believe it's better to stick to stocks till warranty period.

BTW what's special in Philips Xtreme vision. Even I'm looking for some bright whitish ligh.

Will decide between osram and philips. But this condition of voiding the warranty is the problem. I want to replace the shitty stock light, but can't.

I am also of same height 5"6. I dont have any problem while driving RC390.
just make sure when you ride with pillion be cautious as there are chances your boots may get slipped while stopping on uneven surfaces.

Hey guys, did a coolant top-up today. Went to the showroom they open the cap and poured the coolant inside. They didnt charge or even take the bike inside. It was that easy. Next time onwards planning to do it my self. And he advised me to use Motul easy cool or ready cool, dont remember the name exactly ...

                  Thanks

                  • I've a question. I'm in Cochin and I'm planning to get my service done in a month's time.
I wanted to have some inputs on the tyre hugger and if there were aftermarket hugger available that are better than the ones they come with...if yes, where to get it from. I'm tired of asking the svc guys.

Also, bulbs. Where do we get it from?

Okay, I have ridden the RC, and its definitely manageable, works pretty well for me
As for my question about the preload; basically my situation would be I can live with the current height, but any lowering would be helpful, so to what extent would it go down? Even half an inch would be sufficient, so I'd just like to know that. Also is it safe to adjust the mono shock? Because I've heard it can negatively affect the suspension or such? In that case I'd rather leave it as it is. Thanks a lot
