mesh strainer, not really required to be replaced unless you see it damaged.Originally posted by blak bandit 350cc View Posthi there again .
I need oil.filter ,mesh stainer ,o rings 2 numbers for DIY service.
those guys at center haven't done a good work at the motorcycle
oil filter and filter cover o ring, you can use the one from pulsar 200ns which might be easier to obtain compared to spares from ktm svc.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
my rear tyre is dead due to my last ride to gurez ,where I got a flat tyre for 70 kms with full offroad.no plain tarmac.
I want to buy a new tyre.i have two options
Michelin150/60 for 5990 (amazon)
perilli scorpion rlly STR 150/60 for 8000 rear (simran trading new delhi) .
I live in j&k we have good roads but bad also.a pointy stone punctured my tyre very bad....

I'd suggest Michelin PSRs or the Revz C1, irrespective of the roads, both last long and offer adequate grip and are pretty much a jack of all trades.Originally posted by blak bandit 350cc View Postmy rear tyre is dead due to my last ride to gurez ,where I got a flat tyre for 70 kms with full offroad.no plain tarmac.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
it has nothing to do with speed, but rather the coolant temperature. and in hot weather (say 34 C or hotter) it stays on longer, especially when in traffic.Originally posted by ThePossum View PostGuys, my friend's duke 2014 radiator stays permanently on once it comes on, no matter what speed it's on. I think it would even stay on during winter! What's the problem?
what is the temp reading on the console ? how many bars ? do the temp bars drop and yet the fans stays on?
does the fan turn off when you shut the ignition off ?
you could take to the authorized service center, connect their diag tool and check if the fan is coming on and going off at the correct temperatures (on my duke 2014 duke 200, the fan is supposed to come on at 89.5 C , and the service center did show me this on the day i bought the bike) the diag tool will show the temperature reading. it could be possibly be a faulty coolant temp sensor / bad thermostat or rarely might need a new radiator cap.Last edited by s1d; 08-15-2018, 11:24 PM.

1 bar shy of the lower segment or the upper segment. if its 1 bar shy of the upper segment when the fan comes on, then there definitely is some issue.Originally posted by ThePossum View PostIt used to come on and stay at 1 bar shy of full bars. I'll try take it and see.
the fan usually comes on 1 or 2 bar shy of the lower segment. i assume there is sufficient coolant in the bike
do get it checked with the diag tool

yes, starts from bottom and more segments come on as it heats up.Originally posted by ThePossum View PostJust so that we are on the same page, the bars start from lower segments and keep increasing and rising yes? I mean it's one bar shy of its highest point
what i meant was that if you look at the guage, it will have two sections (maybe the term segment was wrong to use)..
a long lower section (with many segments, around 10 i guess) and a small upper section (with three segments).. you will see a 'H' right near the upper section.
the fan usually comes on when its two shy of completely filling up the lower section. see the pic below.. U upper section, L lower section, F is around where the fan usually comes on and usually the temp shouldn't often reach the upper section in normal daily riding.
