Thanks a lot for posting such a nice review. Hero bikes are not photogenic but they look amazing in flesh. Hunk, cbz, zmr....they all look a bit odd in pictures but slowly and steadily they start growing on you. Cbz before facelift received a lot of criticism on internet but on road it proved everyone wrong and same is the case with new zmr. It looks simply smashing and big. Yesterday i spotted a zmr 2014 on road and it was looking killer and very super bykish type from rear and sides. Its tail piece is simply awesome. According me its tail alone will attract a lot of customers. I spotted that zmr in night and may be that is why its exhaust was sounding bassy and louder than before. All in all a big thumbs up from my side. Enjoy your ride and take care of your black bull....

Prateekjayant, great review buddy!

2 things though:
1. Front tires aren't beefed up, rear one is (from the old gen).
2. Most importantly, use your RVMs. Don't fold them!

To all, guys should we create a new thread for ZMR v2?

Yes, Engine, specifications are different coupled with different exterior looks. Besides, this thread is huge already. The new thread would help prospective buyers to follow easily.

We've wonderful reviews to begin with.

The dual head lamp looks cool and are bright too but a high beam projector lamp is definitely missed and you cannot turn both of them on at same time as you could in the pulsar 220 I guess?
Perfect Review Simple for a layman to understand.. Kudos mate..

regarding the quoted.. The P220's headlights tend to work the same way your ZMR works..

The Projector works as the low beam and the reflector works are the high beam.. High beam for Projectors is going to be a killer for the oncoming traffic..

you can do some mods to get both the bulbs to light simultaneously.. Few have done it on the Fazer and R15 here in xbhp itself

but I don't think the brightness will increase, rather it will be insufficient. reason being, the load on battery will be more and hence less power provided to the headlights from battery..

besides, there is always a reason to why the manufacturers leave it this way..

I did a constant 110 kmph for hours together on my 2010 ZMR and the new 2014 ZMRs will be even better with less strain to the engine

and HELL YEAH.. a BIG CONGRATS to you mate All the best and Fly Safe and Fly Low

Start using RVMs mate.. they are life savers.. Saved my life like a million times where no common sense drivers on highways don't care to even apply brakes seeing a bike in front of them..

@ Prateekjayant .. Very good review after such a short ownership. But, one thing I'd like to mention is that please do not go overboard with top speed or acceleration. It's a new engine and needs time to settle down gradually. Ride safe!

Prateekjayant: Congrats on your purchase buddy. Saw the new ZMR on road an hour back while coming to office. Bike was definitely looking good. The only grouse i have is with the rear overhang. The tail section is good individually, but when viewed from the side, the rear section looks a bit extended. Apart from that the bike definitely looked attention grabbing.

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)

Congratulations Prateekjayant. I recently sighted a White Karizma 2014, for a moment i mistook it for a superbike. Yes like u said, it looks awesome in flesh rather than in pics.
Neverthless, lovely pics there, but the bike would have looked better with the rear-view mirrors open. Now, It looks like a Doberman's head.
As everyone suggested, please use the rear-view mirrors do not fold them, especially not on Highways.
And now your next advancement need to be riding gears, get em soon!
It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!
