Why a twin results in more vibration? I always believed that a twin cylinder engine inherently results in lesser vibration than a single cylinder. Latter vibration dampening is another factor.

I was also interested in HX250R because of more power/Hero name and ABS but I am afraid that it wont be much comfortable for touring purpose. Time will tell.

Good thing about Karizma is surely time tested performance and so many people raving about its touring capability. I am still outside India and will return by September end and that is when I will actually need the bike.
sanjanikar you are right that twin cylinder engine results in lesser vibration but only when arranged in a v position like the harley davidson bike ,but in this bike it is parallel cylinder not v shaped so its a completely different situation ,you can read about it online and i dont mean at all that the inazuma produces vibrations i just meant all parallel cylinder engines in general ,so do test drive before purchasing and if you want touring comfort then you can also consider thunderbird.

        any possible reason...?

        thanks in advance.

it happens due to air block in tank/oil pipe.. .. if u keep the tank cap open for 30 sec.. then engine will start again.. else u need to wait for 5-10 minutes... it happens mainly if u ride ur bike in reserve mode for a longer time (more than 25-30km).. . try to avoid riding in reserve mode.. .. it happened to me couple of times.. indeed irritating while being on road...i ride a ZMA..

I think you got it all wrong buddy. A twin cylinder is much smoother than a single cylinder.. less strain comparatively.. if you still think twin cylimder means vibrations.. please ride the Ninja and get it confirmed.. V twins vibrate more and sounds fantastic.. eg. The Harleys and Ducatis.. for some reason I dont like Harley note and I love ductati.. harley vibrates like anything.. not as much as compared to the RE though.. i have rode a Harley and it vibrates.. twin cylinder bikes feel smooth and vibration free.. ok.. ride a ninja or wait for the R25
Ride em and feel the smoothness i am saying it as i have rode a ninja and the bike is ultimate when it comes to smoothness and I am pretty sure that the Inazuma is sweet and womderful with least vibrations.. well.. Best way to judge is with the help of a Test Ride..

your explanation definitely makes sense, i think my source of info was not reliable and btw i didnt know that ninja also had parallel twin cylinder engine, i thought it was v twin, also can you suggest me if i can take my bike to keylong,i am planning a road trip from delhi to keylong ,i wanted take make it upto leh but i am constrained by my budget,i have clocked 550kms till now or should i hire a bike in manali?i know i should not risk taking my bike up there yet but i just can wait to take it there and just spend some quality time with her..

I was about to post this video. Bike is looking brilliant in this video. This bike has started growing on me now even in pictures and videos.

Now I am coming to the main thing. Finallly I took test ride of new ZMR. Dont know about others but overll I am impressed with the new design, power figures, stance, ride quality and specially the tail piece. I know looks are subjective but if I had to select a bike below 1.1 lacs, it will be ZMR. Its powerful, torqy and big with good ride quality too. Just twist the throttle freely and you can feel that power upgrade easily. I twisted it till 89 kmph only on speedo because of traffic but I am sure it can touch 100 inside 11-11.5 secs which is a improvement over older version. Ride quality is same as before which is a good thing. It feels lighter and more balanced, may be because of some fine tuning of cycle parts or aerodynamic front fairing. The way it generates that low end power is simply superb and this is the thing which puts it above R15 and baby CBR for me(don't forget that ride quality and a big bike feel before pointing a finger towards me) as i like the bikes with good low and mid range because 75% of the time I utilize the low and and mid range part only. Even in rest of the 15% time I'll ride it around 100-110 kmph max which again is not a problem for this machine and that is why it seals the deal for me. Pillion comfort will also be better than its competitors as pillion seat is quite spacious and in case of any issue one can go for an after market option as the seat is not on 2nd floor. Coming to the part which has been discussed quite a lot on this thread i.e. riding posture which is good and comfortable. Yes, its different from the older version but still it gives appropriate comfort with little bit of sporty feel. Its a cross between older zmr and cbr 150. One thing more....I feel its exhaust note is also different, a bit louder and little rougher. Existing owners can give clarity on this thing as that was a brand new bike with just 205 kilometers on its odo.

All in all its a nice upgrade by hero. I know it has come late but still i feel this bike can survive another 3-5 years easily.

P.S: I am not against R15 and baby CBR, I know they are very potent machines. Infact in some departments they are above ZMR. I am not starting any kinda war or something. I compared it with both of them because all three come in almost same price bracket but to cater different set of riders. Personally I feel ZMR is overall a better package to ride daily and for touring also.

A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith and use up a lot of fuel....

Nope, the Ninja is a Paralel Twin cylinder..

complete the Run-in Period, get the oil changed at 1000 kms and fly low a highway ride is always best for new engines.. varying the RPM and speeds will make your engine happy and live longer

I used to rip my Black Pearl when I got her.. as in now and then.. Used to work in an International BPO and you can imagine going from South Delhi to Noida Sector 59 at nights free roads.. couldn't control but rip her at times..

by the way.. pls drain the engine oil in case you haven't already.. by the way. your bike will do just fine.. Can you tell me when you are planning to go for the ride and how many days??

and next time you go to the Service Center, can you please find out whether the sprockets are the same as in the Old ZMRs?? Its time I change the sprockets as I have completed almost 22000kms on them.. if they are not the same, can you get the Specifications of the Sprockets and chain?? also the cost of the chain guard and whether they are a direct fit to the old ZMRs this will help in losing 2 kgs weight from my Black Pearl at the cost of losing the life of the sprockets though
