I was about to post this video. Bike is looking brilliant in this video. This bike has started growing on me now even in pictures and videos. Now I am coming to the main thing. Finallly I took test ride of new ZMR. Dont know about others but overll I am impressed with the new design, power figures, stance, ride quality and specially the tail piece. I know looks are subjective but if I had to select a bike below 1.1 lacs, it will be ZMR. Its powerful, torqy and big with good ride quality too. Just twist the throttle freely and you can feel that power upgrade easily. I twisted it till 89 kmph only on speedo because of traffic but I am sure it can touch 100 inside 11-11.5 secs which is a improvement over older version. Ride quality is same as before which is a good thing. It feels lighter and more balanced, may be because of some fine tuning of cycle parts or aerodynamic front fairing. The way it generates that low end power is simply superb and this is the thing which puts it above R15 and baby CBR for me(don't forget that ride quality and a big bike feel before pointing a finger towards me) as i like the bikes with good low and mid range because 75% of the time I utilize the low and and mid range part only. Even in rest of the 15% time I'll ride it around 100-110 kmph max which again is not a problem for this machine and that is why it seals the deal for me. Pillion comfort will also be better than its competitors as pillion seat is quite spacious and in case of any issue one can go for an after market option as the seat is not on 2nd floor. Coming to the part which has been discussed quite a lot on this thread i.e. riding posture which is good and comfortable. Yes, its different from the older version but still it gives appropriate comfort with little bit of sporty feel. Its a cross between older zmr and cbr 150. One thing more....I feel its exhaust note is also different, a bit louder and little rougher. Existing owners can give clarity on this thing as that was a brand new bike with just 205 kilometers on its odo.All in all its a nice upgrade by hero. I know it has come late but still i feel this bike can survive another 3-5 years easily.P.S: I am not against R15 and baby CBR, I know they are very potent machines. Infact in some departments they are above ZMR. I am not starting any kinda war or something. I compared it with both of them because all three come in almost same price bracket but to cater different set of riders. Personally I feel ZMR is overall a better package to ride daily and for touring also.

the life span for sprocket is 22k..?? hw much is for HUNK. i have completed 26k on my HUNK and never changed sprocket /chain so far.

For DS he is still running on stock sprockets on his zmr and i believe he has completed more than 50000.. not sure if he has changed them recently..

I am just assuming i will have to change.. havent had a look at it.. after this recent ride. I havent checked the condition.. i havent touched my Black Pearl much since i came back. Got my salary credited so i will change the air filter, spark plugs and other minor things which need to be changed.

By the way. My Hunk back in Chennai has completed 40000 kms and the bike is from the very first slot of hunks which landed in the showrooms back in 2008.. havent changed the sprockets til now. Recently changed the rear tire and the clutch plates..

For DS he is still running on stock sprockets on his zmr and i believe he has completed more than 50000.. not sure if he has changed them recently..

I have completed 40000 recently.. my bike history is pretty crazy out of mind and confusing.. did some sprocket mods blah blah..

usually the part that comes with stocked on the bike last longer, not sure why but it happens.. the first sprocket for me would have lasted 30000 but I did some modifications and that sprocket lasted only for 8000 kms and there was uneven wear and tear and hence I had to change the sprockets at 18000 kms...

ohhh.....then i have probably long way to go....but in my friends pulsar, they are changing it in around 10k-20K. i guess thats where hero stands out.

also i thinks it is always better to change sprocket and chain together....just like changing rear and front tyres.?

Ever wondered why the spare parts of Hero Products are costlier? and at the same time, ever wondered why the Genuine Hero Spares don't wear out that easily?

but normal servicing cost is very less compared to other brands like yamaha. Eg for chain lube yamaha charges Rs.150 while hero charges Rs 60 in chennai.

spares also i dint find much difference ....i feel hero is bit less cost, but not as TVS though.

Since you would not take typo/auto correct as an excuse, (small) p is "inverted" (small) b and vice versa.

do you remember the exact location of the mechanic.?

It used to be in the location as in the below screenshot. Jones road just after the temple pond..

well.. I used to own a Bajaj P180 and the spares cost me less.. but the wear and tear of the spares were much less than what I had to do with my Karizma..

not sure about other brands these days as I haven't owned anything other than Hero Products other than Bajaj which i had a very bad experience with..

Yamaha on the other hand might be using a proper chain lube (assuming) compared to what Hero does Hero uses Engine Oil to lube the chains..

Here in New Delhi - NCR, we get the Chain tightened and lubed for free from Hero Service atleast for me they do it

I never left my Karizma for service in ASC after having a bad experience. I knew a Mechanic in Saidapet who was an expert with the Karizma..

P.S. I still haven't got any information about the sprockets.
P.P.S. I still haven't got to know how to reach the batteries on the new ZMR.. Owners.. where are youuuu??
