Yes, throttle freeplay matters. Get it adjusted.Originally posted by Aarya S View PostSure Bro..
There is an issue with my Throttle too (Don't know it is related to above mentioned issue or not).
My throttle is very loose, I can rotate it freely till some extent before it actually accelerates my bike.
the free rotation is very less in other bikes in comparison to mine. Last time when I went to showroom, they told me they will fix it when I give my bike for servicing.
Does this matters?

Test ride by Autocarindia.
Hero MotoCorp Karizma | Bikes Review | Bikes 200cc-350cc | Autocar India
Not a very positive review. 0-60kmph in 4.48secs and Vibrations at high rpms...
Can the owners comment about the vibration at high rpms? Is it not present in the old ZMR?

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
The new ZMR will have tappets sound quicker because of the fact that it uses roller rocker arms and high lift camshaft. Nothing to worry as they can be easily adjusted and recommended for check every 6000 km service. A good mechanic can check and adjust the tappets in less that 15 mins and even without opening fairings in case of the New ZMR.
Vibrations will smoothen out as bike piles on kilometers. Tappets adjustment should be done with feeler gauge and never without it. Even you can do it at home and i always do it on both my bikes and pleasure at home and never let others touch them.

it shows very good cornering characteristics of karizma back to back, may be the rider is skilled though the road is not safe to do it.

Sir jee, 2 sheepish requests:Originally posted by sibun View PostTappets adjustment should be done with feeler gauge and never without it. Even you can do it at home and i always do it on both my bikes and pleasure at home and never let others touch them.
1. Can you share the link to your tappets adjustment diy? I didn't find it on the forum, but since I'm using my mobile, I'm not sure. I want to do it myself.
2. I'm not getting a 0.1 mm feeler gauge. Where did you buy it from? I mean what kind of a shop?

As for DIY then I have not posted anywhere. But I have laid out detailed procedure on the extreme thread. I think Ashwin or someone else from extreme thread has posted a DIY.
As for the feeler gauge I have bought one which has 20 blades and has 0.03mm till 1mm. You can get those from industrial tools dealer. sibun, are you sure new ZMR has roller rocker arms? If so, roller rocker arms supposed to reduce tappet noise, but in ZMR why the sound has increased?HH Karizma (Current) || CBF Stunner PGM-FI || Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Bro I too had the same problem..dont worry it doesn't affect the mileage until you figured this out early..Originally posted by Aarya S View PostGuys, I have an issue with my ZMR (don't know weather its small or not)..
Sometimes when I get stuck in Bangalore traffic, cant even get into 3rd gear.
At that time I have to ride in 1st and 2nd gear for long time (no other choice). If I rise my throttle in 1st gear little high, RPM is mounting to 4k whenever I press my clutch or whenever bike come to neutral.
The only solution I found is taking my ZMR to roadside, starting and leaving it. It raises to 4k rpm and stays there for 1-2 min and comes down to 1.5 and behaves normally. This repeats every time I travel in 1st gear.
I reported same thing to service center guy and he suggested me to start the engine and leave it for 5 min every morning. Even though I am doing this daily found no change in it.
Can anyone help me on this so that i can argue with hero service center guy as I am giving my bike for second service this weekend.
Does this effects mileage?
actually the problem should be in the stepup motor..(for me it was)..
Get your bike to ASC consult to a good mechanic and tell them to check the STEPUP MOTOR.. thet'll reset it

Got my rear Tyre hugger during my 1st free service...
pulsar 200NS,
It costed Rs:425(ADYAR BAJAJ).. including Tyre hugger and holding clamp..
It looks more sexier with it..
Just made some stickering job to hide their logo..
..
Friends I do recommend this for all of you b'coz it just works great in monsoon times and its way better than HERO's clumsy tyre hugger

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Thanks for the link brother but all gauges start from 0.2 mm. I had checked these earlier. ZMR needs a 0.1 mm clearance.Originally posted by dineshaugustin View PostGot a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Its starts from 0.02, not 0.2 mm. Check the list of gauges in description.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostThanks for the link brother but all gauges start from 0.2 mm. I had checked these earlier. ZMR needs a 0.1 mm clearance.
