Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
The headlight is 35/35 watts as in any other lower cc bike. A 55/60 watts bulb may perhaps give slightly better light but not as bright as you expect. The stator coil of Gixxer is, again as in any other lower cc bike, single phase which produces less current and that too depending on the RPM.Originally posted by avi_loveindia View PostHow its lightning Power,, and is it has DC lighting and if Yes ,, this means we can directly Plug n Play 55w bulb like Xtreme Vision or Nightbreaker

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
So it means that light will fluctuate with low high rpms ,, I think it shouldn't be because it has DC,, if im not worngOriginally posted by punarvasu View PostThe headlight is 35/35 watts as in any other lower cc bike. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
It does not fluctuate as both ends of the coil is connected to the full wave rectifier in the RR. In bikes like GS, one end of the coil is earthed and the half wave RR produces pulsating DC to which the headlight is connected.Originally posted by avi_loveindia View PostSo it means that light will fluctuate with low high rpms
In both cases, the voltage and current depends on engine RPM.

FIOriginally posted by Satellite.kid View PostYour maintenance points aside, the new FZ 2.0 is actually equipped with a closed loop fuel injection system. Go to the dedicated FZ site to see.
• YAMAHA Fuel Injection System contains sensors, actuators and an Engine Control Unit (ECU). Sensors detect temperature, atmospheric pressure and engine condition. Based on this, ECU commands the optimal amount of fuel to the engine.
• It helps to deliver best engine performance at all speeds by providing fuel calculated at 1/1000 sec based on Inlet pressure / Throttle position / Engine rotation speed and more.
• It ensures high-efficiency combustion by providing right amount of fuel depending on riding conditions, and contributes to increased mileage and cleaner emissions.
BlueCore
•Blue Core is Yamaha's new generation engine development ideal
• Designed to extract maximum performance and fuel economy
•Achieved with optimum combustion, power loss reduction, precise control of fuel supply and ignition timing
where does it say its closed loop? can you point me to description where it claims closed loop system.

Sure
YAMAHA FZ-S Blue Core
Move your mouse over to see "Advance FI engine" option and then click on "click to know more"... hope this helps
Anyways, your choice to go for the Gixxer is still better I believe. I would have done the same if I had to choose between the two...The Chronicles of Motorcycling - The Man, The Machine and The Road

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hello all,
I, alongwith my new Gixxer, are a new entrant into this Forum.
Bought this yesterday and I was welcomed with heavy rains (an understatement I felt) in Bangalore.
I need tips on getting till the First service at <4500RPM and <40kph as suggested by the Dealer!! :O :'(
I would like to know if Synthetic oils are really required in India. On some Googling, synthetic oils are good in case of extreme weather conditions, otherwise they are not too effective.
Also, how do we keep the drive chain clean, well lubricated? is there something called 'drive chain oil'? is it okay to use "WD40" spray to keep it rust free ?
Any tips will be greatly appreciated . Thank you!

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
the service guy at showroom told to clean the chain and lubricate with oil spray although he didnt mention which brand. after yesterday's HEAVY rain (writing in capital letters wont help either!) i am also worried if i need to lubricate the chain as its partially exposed at sides. it has gathered some amount of mud too.Originally posted by pradeep.pai View PostHello all,

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
As far as I remember, Suzuki recommends lubricating with thicker oil like 90 or 140 grade. It is mentioned in the user's manual.Originally posted by sshiremath2000 View Postthe service guy at showroom told to clean the chain and lubricate with oil spray although he didnt mention which brand.
As the chain is non O ring type, WD 40 can safely be applied to clean it.
The maximum rpm in initial running in period is 5,000, i.e. about 67 kmh; I think. Please check the owner's manual.
At 3,000 rpm, Gixxer reaches 40 kmh speed.
