Never faced this issue myself on my gixxer sf. Even when carrying a 90kg pillion. Just take speed breakers slowly ? you can also adjust the rear mono shock to make it higher. So its all adjustable.

guys first of all this not gixxers engine..its a image of hunk.am using it for reference so you guys get an idea of the area am talking about.took this image from xbhp itself..
so for the past few weeks i have been noticing that oil is leaking from the engine head stud/nut.its not actually leaking.i can see oil around that one bolt.sometimes the areas is like damp.there are two bolt on top of our engine head and the one on the left is where the problem is.its just wet oil is around that bolt.so what can be the problem.the svc casually took a look and said to replace the entire engine head.please help,i cant get a clear picture of that area.
by leak i dont mean its oozing out but taht bolt is kinda surrounded by sticky oil.
Maybe the head is warped. Else i would suggest replacing the gasket and trying. Looks like they reused a worn gasket or didnt use the silicon sealer.
Did you ever come from a ride and directly put water on the engine? This is very bad and bends the engine since this is mordern aluminium engine and not old iron POS. :P

Replace under warranty? Does it actually happen?Originally posted by Vyshakh View PostContact near mrf showroom.. You will get replacement warranty.
Most probable cause for those stress cracks are incorrect tyre pressure

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
What scrapes is the double stand surface not the bellypan. Otherwise none wud have purchased n owned gixxer faired version. Every bike srapes if the bumper too high or if with pillion. But in this case belly pan doesn't touch. Its the sound of the stand scraping.Originally posted by Anurag45 View PostSo it scrapes speed breakers everytime with a pillion..? Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hello guys i'm thinking of purchasing the gixxer sf in a month or two as my first bike (I will learn how to ride in the coming month after my board exams). I was wondering if somebody would be willing to clear up a few doubts i had about it as i'm pretty much a noob in biking.
1. Is the FI version worth the extra money? Or does the carb version work pretty much the same
2. Someone told me that me being a beginner i should opt for a drum brake instead of the rear disc one, thoughts?
3. I was told the acceleration is not as good as other bikes in the segment, is it any true?

Since a tank cover looks very unappealing, is there any other solutions for carrying small items?

Carb is more than enough for you.
Only if you go for long rides and climb steeps then fi will be better, and fi version will be tad stronger at higher revs, maybe slight quicker post 100-110 kmph.
If i were u, i would get Fi itself. (if my budget allows)
2) drum vs disc
Since you are about to learn riding I would suggest you drum brake, since SF is a full faired bike you can use more front brake than on the naked version.
And since SF doesn't have abs and you don't have much experience riding and panic braking, go for drum brakes.
But the thing is SF fi is only available in rear disc variant.
3) Gixxer offers the best acceleration in 150cc bikes, realy good performance, compared to other bikes gixxer doesn't loose steam at 90-100kmph( except r15 and cbr150)
Gixxer is the quickest 150cc bike from 0-60 with a timing of 4.4 seconds vbox tested which is quicker than even the r15 and cbr150 (from my personal experience of some drag racing and stuff, gixxer is quicker till some 70kmph)
Best in class ingear acceleration,
Wide spread torque.
Gixxer is a realy peppy 150cc bike and the bonus is fantastic handling.
Best of luck mate.
Ride safe.
Cheers .

The SF is a very good choice, especially since you're a beginner, it packs all the firepower you'd need for a good amount of kilometers. I've owned the SF SP Edition for about 6 months and 4.6k kilometers (approx.) and here are my responses :-
1. As of what I have heard, the FI version is definitely worth the extra money as the FI system results in a better fuel efficiency and a marginally better throttle response. I am not aware of the extent of benefit, but it exists for a good reason and isn't simply a marketing gimmick. Even so, the Carb version is doing me good with an FE of 47+ kmpl for my daily commutes in Mumbai which comprise of 70-75% highway and 25-30% city riding, with easy throttle application and a few occasional top speed runs.
2. I started out on a CBR 150R after learning the basics of riding a motorbike on my dad's age old Kawasaki 4S which had drum brakes. My take is, if you're careful enough, starting out with the disc brakes won't get you killed. Remember to take the ride easy based on the road conditions and to go easy on the brakes, brake earlier than required if you're apprehensive of the discs, and you're sorted.
3. The acceleration is fairly good for the bike's class and purpose. I find the 14Nm of torque way better than the 12.66Nm torque on my CBR 150R. The Honda CB Hornet probably accelerates faster but that doesn't dwarf this bike's offerings as the difference is small.
Just a note here : If you're looking for a more flickable bike or one to be used more often in the city than on the highway, I'd recommend you go with the naked Gixxer as it is easier to filter through traffic and is lighter on it's feet too. If highway riding is going to take up a decent chunk of your riding, the SF is definitely going to be more stable because of the little additional weight of the fairing at the front, which also aids the SF in returning a better FE than the naked Gixxer on the highway.
The Gixxer might not have the top-end performance or attractive exhaust note of the premium 150cc bikes like the Yamaha R15 or the Honda CBR 150R, but the refinement, quietness and comfort on this bike literally helps bust my stress after long, tiring hours at work on the way back home!
My final words? Go for the Gixxer (naked or SF is upto you). Run-in the engine properly, take good care of her, and she will not disappoint.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Even my Gixxer's rear tyre has developed such cracks all over the sidewall and it's done 29,000 km on the ODO in 1 year 10 months. I asked the SVC guys if warranty is gonna cover it and they clearly declined any warranty claims for the tyre. So how is this replacement warranty from the MRF showroom gonna work? What sort of warranty do the stock tyres actually come with?Originally posted by Vyshakh View PostContact near mrf showroom.. You will get replacement warranty.
Thanks.

The fi version costs a lil more than the carburetted one.Originally posted by Samiran Mishra View PostHello guys i'm thinking of purchasing the gixxer sf in a month or two as my first bike (I will learn how to ride in the coming month after my board exams). Drum brakes are not as effective as front disc brakes but i would suggest drum one as most rear disc gixxer version owners complain of the disc being not so punchy. And there's a chance of rear disc-locking too. To be on the safe side i would go for drum.
Gixxer have comfortable riding posture too.
Gixxers acceleration/pickup is not as aggressive as R15 or RTR. Rather it has a gradual acceleration not as old 150cc bikes but more improved. As a beginner, gixxer is the best bike and you'll understand it too once yo own it.
Gixxer have very good body balance too and yo'll get to knw it once yo make lean cornerings with the bike (thats when yo master the bike [emoji6] )
Recently, 2017 gixxers are provided with bs4 engines, more throttle response, newer graphics.
Now its upto u.Last edited by presidency; 03-27-2017, 02:17 PM.
