One query ,,How its lightning Power,, and is it has DC lighting and if Yes ,, this means we can directly Plug n Play 55w bulb like Xtreme Vision or Nightbreaker

The headlight is 35/35 watts as in any other lower cc bike. A 55/60 watts bulb may perhaps give slightly better light but not as bright as you expect. The stator coil of Gixxer is, again as in any other lower cc bike, single phase which produces less current and that too depending on the RPM.

So it means that light will fluctuate with low high rpms ,, I think it shouldn't be because it has DC,, if im not worng

It does not fluctuate as both ends of the coil is connected to the full wave rectifier in the RR. In bikes like GS, one end of the coil is earthed and the half wave RR produces pulsating DC to which the headlight is connected.
In both cases, the voltage and current depends on engine RPM.

yes. its DC. not sure of compatibility abt 55w bulb, but i am also planning

where does it say its closed loop? can you point me to description where it claims closed loop system.

Anyways, your choice to go for the Gixxer is still better I believe. I would have done the same if I had to choose between the two...

I must say today I have spotted a Gixxer on road its really an eye catcher in 150cc segment and not only the looks, it also performs very well.

I think since it is DC ,, so it would be plug n play,,, but will wait 4 your experience, yestersay a glimpse of Black Gixxer , and it just was raining hard but its headlight was looking strong,, what your take on this ,,and I think changing stock one to higher watt may void warranty

yes. the present headlight is just sufficient. i will try to check in night and see if its ok. else will check with dealer for upgrading to 55w

Hello all,
I, alongwith my new Gixxer, are a new entrant into this Forum.

Bought this yesterday and I was welcomed with heavy rains (an understatement I felt) in Bangalore.

I need tips on getting till the First service at <4500RPM and <40kph as suggested by the Dealer!! :O :'(

I would like to know if Synthetic oils are really required in India. On some Googling, synthetic oils are good in case of extreme weather conditions, otherwise they are not too effective.

Also, how do we keep the drive chain clean, well lubricated? is there something called 'drive chain oil'? is it okay to use "WD40" spray to keep it rust free ?

Any tips will be greatly appreciated . Thank you!

the service guy at showroom told to clean the chain and lubricate with oil spray although he didnt mention which brand. after yesterday's HEAVY rain (writing in capital letters wont help either!) i am also worried if i need to lubricate the chain as its partially exposed at sides. it has gathered some amount of mud too.
as far as breakin goes, i am only riding bike in city traffic. so max i have reached 50kmph at 3krpm in 5th gear.

As far as I remember, Suzuki recommends lubricating with thicker oil like 90 or 140 grade. It is mentioned in the user's manual.
As the chain is non O ring type, WD 40 can safely be applied to clean it.
The maximum rpm in initial running in period is 5,000, i.e. about 67 kmh; I think. Please check the owner's manual.
At 3,000 rpm, Gixxer reaches 40 kmh speed.
