Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Theres a knob with numbers marked.we can adjust the lever position as per that. For instance, in my previous bike, i had set the brake lever to closest setting and clutch at medium.Motorcycling heals, big time...

I keep rpm1 at 9.5k because I know for a fact I can control my wrist. And I'm old school. I need only to hear the engine to determine what rpm I'm at.
And seriously, you can't tell me that bloody shift light isn't f@₹%ing annoying.

KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
AFAIK svc offers akrapović exhaust but no ecu remap.Originally posted by Stani Emerson John View PostAnyone got the powerpart Akrapovic exhaust installed with the engine remap from ASC . Think it's really pricey but guess it's worth with better sound and 5 bhp increase in power.
one can get race dynamics piggyback ecu.
But I'm skeptical of 5bhp power bump.

That's what it says on this website Akrapovic Titanium Slip-on Exhaust for KTM RC390Originally posted by Suyash Krishna View PostAFAIK svc offers akrapović exhaust but no ecu remap.

If ASC are providing these exhausts then they should be doing the remap as well else there is no use paying so much for it.

The exhast alone is pretty much useless without remap or piggyback ecu.Originally posted by Stani Emerson John View PostThat's what it says on this website Akrapovic Titanium Slip-on Exhaust for KTM RC390

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
They admitted that the pedal seems to bend/break easily, so one should take precaution. They replaced the pedals in other bikes which had got bent/broken just like in my bike, so others must have paid too. I didn't mean that they are replacing it on everyone's bike even if there's no issue.Originally posted by Balgi View PostWait they admitted the pedals have a problem in other bikes too and still made you pay? :O
Coming to RPM, can anyone tell me what is the difference between RPM1 and RPM2? I understand that after RPM1, the light blinks and after RPM2, it remains constant but what is the difference. Are we supposed to shift gears at RPM1 or RPM2?

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
More than anything, it gives you an idea of the RPM range u r in without looking at the dash. Owners manual recommends not exceeding 7.5k RPM during run in - these shift indicators would help you know when to shift without taking your eye off the road.Originally posted by hss View PostThey admitted that the pedal seems to bend/break easily, so one should take precaution. Another question - In the manual, it is stated in bold letters that one should NOT open the throttle to start the bike. Just need to press the starter button but I remember trying starting the bike without opening throttle and it didn't start on 2-3 occasions I tried. Does your bike start with just the press of button?

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Yes, one should not use throttle while starting, though when it didnt start a couple of times, I did give a bit of throttle and it started with some difficulty. Easiest solution when it doesnt start is to turn the ignition off (by key, not kill switch) and start again once the console is back online. This almost always works.Originally posted by hss View PostAnother question - In the manual, it is stated in bold letters that one should NOT open the throttle to start the bike. Guys the recommended petrol for RC 390 is RON 95, reading through many other forums i saw that in India we have only RON 93 or RON 97 available and RON 97 is available only in BPCL as speed 97, which still doesnt meet the requiremnt of recommended fuel as the fuel should not be high in octale too as thats also is not good.
The point I want to make is do we really need to be worried about using RON 95 fuel or is it ok to use the usual RON 91 which is the current fuel type available in all the bunks.
Or else if anyone can recommend any other premium fuel for RC 390 that is available easily in bangalore ( apart from shell as it is also RON 91 with extra additives)
