As for the riding posture, there is a sweet spot! I find it hard to achieve it on a regular basis but it is there. You will have to unlearn a lot of things and learn quite a few things! What I do -tuck my elbow in closer to my waist, press your knee against the fuel tank ( this takes the weight away from your shoulders/wrist).

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
W.r.t to the "bumpy" ride, I had the same problem initially. Changed the suspension setting to a more harder setting ( 2 steps up) and it is perfect for my riding style. Now that in no ways means all the uneven surfaces are butter smooth, but it feels like any other bike.Originally posted by 'nYsus' View Post

But IMO, won't making the rear suspension harder make the bike stiffer? I mean, god forbid, if the road is broken, RC will take a lot of toil.Originally posted by Newbie101 View PostW.r.t to the "bumpy" ride, I had the same problem initially. Also, did stiffening really help the back problem? Although it makes sense, since the suspension travel is lesser, back muscles take the toil lesser."When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." ~ Leonardo da Vinci

RC390 Frame Sliders
Can you please help me regarding the Frame/Fairing Sliders for the KTM RC390.
My bike fell while standing still to it's right and the foot brake lever and the front right foot peg broke.
And the worse that happened was the handlebar that took a hit now has bent upwards.
Pathetic quality on this motorcycle. They could have priced it some 20~30k more but at least should have given a premium product. Every company is after quantity sales and ultimately the genuine customers suffer.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Yes, the bike is stiffer, will the bike take a toll ? Maybe, but you gotta hit a pothole/speed breaker at really high speeds to get there. Since it has ABS, I think we can slam the brakes and avoid that. Atleast in theory it works.Originally posted by 'nYsus' View PostBut IMO, won't making the rear suspension harder make the bike stiffer? I didnt have a back problem to begin with, mine was more to do with feeling confident on the bike. It was waay too bumpy for me with the soft suspension settings ( mainly because I don't weigh a lot, @ 67kg).
Wrt to separators ( especially on the flyovers we have here in Bangalore) : I haven't had a problem with it yet. With the soft suspension, it used to throw me off the seat. Now it more planted and I haven't had any spine bolting hits ( approx speed was ~60Kmph when passing over these separators).

KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Hi there, I don't own an RC but i manage most of my ninja's maintenance tasks at home. I don't know if it's only me or others had this confusion that "why would you want to open up and the assemble the whole bike?" But irrespective of the reason, some of the essential tools you would need are - a set of screw drivers, socket sets(for hex nuts) and Allen keys for screws with hex slots. No one would know in particular what sizes of these you need, unless he owns and works on the RC on his own. There are multiple variety of tool kits on flipkart Amazon and eBay. If you don't have anything you might want to begin there or ask a local hardware store for these tools specifying that you need it for working on a motorcycle. Hope this helps. Once you start working on it you would know on your own what you require and where you can get it.Originally posted by jackofsome View Postplease guys any help?

Sorry to hear that buddy
This is getting me really worried now
Expecting delivery by December end or Jan'15
Guys please shed some light on crash guards for the forks\pegs\rear swing arm
I shall be opting for a Zero-Dep insurance. Would the above mentioned things(the crash damage mentioned by Abeer) be covered under it??

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
sit as back as you can and hold the tank with you thighs...Originally posted by 'nYsus' View PostHey nice pics there @DukeDey. I just got a query for all the RC owners.
I was planning to wait for the RC rather than getting the Duke. I test rode the RC twice, but both the times i felt that every single undulation on the road is felt on the back and eventually after a mere 10 mins of spirited riding over flyovers (with the seperators on road), i got a lower back ache. Any of you facing this issue? Are there any special seating positions that i can use? Any advices?
People who have ridden the RC for more than 20kms at once can be of help here.
Thanks in advance.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Hi guys, thanks for making the forum so informative.
I've booked the rc 390 but I still am confused between the rc390 and the rc 200. Which of these two will hold better resale value after a year? I recently heard the price of the rc390 will rise to 2.5L. Is this true? Will this affect the resale value?
