Well even I feel the same and I spoke about this to the service guy also and he said evrything is fine with the bike and acceleration is also normal, even I thought that I got accustomed to the acceleration and dont feel the surprise that I felt in the begining.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
I got my orange delivered yesterday at 6 pm and by 9 pm I hit the highway and rode close to 100 km . I never crossed 70 kmph
You will be surprised that i got 40 km average in highway . I feel like a boss seeing those figures .
Im quite suprised to see that mileage because my FZ struggles to give me 40 mileage .
Other than that after half an hour ride my hands became numb , my wife though enjoyed the pillion seat .
I had lot of pain in my wrist ,lower back, and inside of thighs. even though I'm am very fit go to gym and play badminton every day .
There is lot of roughness in the bike performance while riding and even shifting the gears are hard , I'm missing my fz clutch , but can understand that is a 153 cc bike .
Hope all these problems resolves with the first service and by the time we both can understand each other .
Horn is lame , I'm in Love with the headlights . I could ride with my dark helmet visors on even in the night without missing a pothole .
I hate the sound of radiator , cant listen what my pillion is talking when it starts .
I'm waiting for the first service so that I can go past the 5k rpm limit . But I'm loving the acceleration its just amazing . I just say eat my bikes smoke when signal turns green .
I feel sorry for those heavy 500 cc bullets and pricey CBR's in the signal

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Congrats! The riding position is something you'll get adjusted to very soon. I could get adjusted to my friend's RC 390 in a couple of days. Initially my wrists went numb and my back ached like crazy when I tried to straighten it a bit. But now all is well. The clutch is going to remain that hard. It's something you can live with. I suggest you purchase a tank pad very soon to avoid scratches on the fuel tank. Since its plastic it cant be tinkered like metal. They'll look awkward and you'll feel really sad to see them.Originally posted by vinod9986 View PostI got my orange delivered yesterday at 6 pm and by 9 pm I hit the highway and rode close to 100 km . Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
The pain you are getting is because for the first time you road the RC for 100 Km, but trust me all that will gradually reduce and the pain wont be there in your future rides, although I might say with pillion rider you will feel some discomfort but can get used to it.Originally posted by vinod9986 View PostI got my orange delivered yesterday at 6 pm and by 9 pm I hit the highway and rode close to 100 km . Now one thing i can see from your post is that you didnt cross the 5k rpm mark, the 5k RPM mark is the first RPM limitter to give you an indication that you need to change the gear, its not the first service limitter, but you can easily take the RC to 6500-7000 RPM without any worries because If you see the manual also it is recommended not to cross 7500 RPM mark before the first service, so I would say you can have a little more fun than 5000 RPM before the first service....

Thanks thrustrey , I hope I get used to the posture :-) . Thanks for suggesting about the tank pads , I would sulk into depression if there is one scratch on my bike .Originally posted by thrustrev View PostCongrats! Can you point me the place where I can buy those , AFAIK KTM showroom guys dont have it . I need vehicle cover and frame sliders too .

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
[QUOTE=thrustrev;1118463]Thanks a lot guys. I made some calls yesterday and found that KTM Marathalli has a couple of RC 390s ready for delivery and even if they get sold out before I book, they have promised a delivery in 30 days at most. Since today is a Tuesday, it is considered inauspicious to make a booking by my mother. I have no say in that. So probably making a booking tomorrow if everything goes well. Will join the RC Club very soon.
I have booked RC390 in Ktm Marathalli Banglore
. The RC390 bikes are readily available for delivery in this showroom. You can contact Joshi-09663909700(the showroom guy) if you like to know more.
I needed the bike at the end of Jan so I did not take the delivery yet.
Guys can any one tell me how do I join the KTM club or RC club Bangalore.
Thanks in advance

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Hi guys !
I am new to xbhp .. I've been following this thread since the beginning but did not have an account so never could post anything .
Ive booked an RC 390 at the trichy showroom Since I am currently doing btech here . too excited since the day I booked and can't wait to get her
Took an extensive test ride of about 30 kms ( within city + highway ) before booking the bike . I was quiet concerned about the riding posture though after the rest ride I dint find any stress anywehere excpet my left palm because of the heavy clutch .
Thing is I am placed at chennai and will be starting work by june . so I'll be doing a lot of city commuting during the rush hour chennai traffic .
It would be great if someone could tell me how the bike holds up in such heavy traffic .
The main thing I had in mind while booking the RC 390 was to take her to the MIDC regularly for track days . but chennai traffic something that I am quiet wary of . so is it better to keep my current ride ( Rx 135 ) for city commuting or sell the bike and buy myself some riding gear ?
Also I'll be doing occasional chennai - Bangalore , chennai - Pondicherry rides .. So it would be great if someone could share their touring experiences on the RC 390 !
Thanks guys
Ride safe !

Well he just drove it and then said everyting is fine...the problem is these guys are yet to get the complete picture of the bike, i mean they are still in learning stages so even if there is an issue they wont be able to find as they themselves dont understand the bike properly.
There is some tool that the guy was telling to check if the right amount of fuel is getting mixed, if thr right amount of air is getting sucked in , I am planning to get that test done.

ok now the real issue- when i got the bike, it was like i opened the throttle for 2 secs and the car before me was 20 meters behind.
now it does not seem like it!
is it a case of me got adjusted to the acceleration or there can be some real problem crop up?
ps- i know its a noob question but please somebody help!

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Hi Guys,
Had booked my RC390 on October end @KTM baner,Pune.
Initially they said they'd try to give it to me by December first week.
Next time I went, they told me KTM is exporting more bikes and hence delivery in india is low.
Yesterday they told me you would PROBABLY get bu January end!!!!
What is the average waiting you guys are facing??
I think I'll cancel the booking if it's February or something!!!

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
they can not legally do that as the maximum waiting time dealer quotes is 90 days you're allowed to take legal actions if they take anylongerOriginally posted by xRohit View PostHi Guys,
