Check out what are the set levels for ur bike.
Manual only prescribes that rpm setting for the run in period. After that its 9.5k rpm1 and 10k rpm2.

it blinks constantly between rpm1 and rpm2 and stays constantly lit up at and above the rpm2
they are just 'visual references' to assist people in keeping the revs limited during the run-in and also to nudge them to shift on seeing the red light flashing.. i had mine (d200)set after the first service at 6k/10k
ktm recommends to keep the rpm's under 7.5k for the first 1000km. a d200 touches 100kmph at 7500rpm .. so wonder what speeds a 390 can do! just keep the rpm within the specified limit during run in maybe nudging it a little higher, and beyond 1000km you can gradually build up higher revs.
390 duke does 100kmph at 5.6k rpm. Rc390 does the same at 5.8-6k rpm.

the chinese or philipino knock offs of these levers seem to be having really good reviews. like you said it doesn't have to be expensive to be of a good quality.Originally posted by wallpapers123 View PostThey are just non moving parts. They don't have to be authentic or original.
btw, those who have used the shorty variety of the levers, have you experienced any pain/discomfort especially with the short clutch lever during rush hour stop go traffic?

Did you change the handle bar grips as well??Originally posted by ynike99 View PostThese are the powerpart levers.what you got is a fake ripoff.Nonetheless, looks good.
The stock RC levers are so much comfortable and softer than the ones on the Dukes.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
The shorty levers are pretty much similar to stock in terms of stiffness I wish there was a way to decrease the reach of clutch lever.Originally posted by s1d View Postbtw, those who have used the shorty variety of the levers, have you experienced any pain/discomfort especially with the short clutch lever during rush hour stop go traffic?
FYI my hand does pain in stop go traffic.
P.s. Upgraded for r15 which had relatively softer clutch.

no i did not change the handlebar grips. didnt feel the need as i ride always with my gloves on. but seems it has got better grips than 390 duke though still its kinda poky.Originally posted by wallpapers123 View PostDid you change the handle bar grips as well??

Yours are a bit different. Now I'm confused which ones are the original..Originally posted by jackofsome View Postno i did not change the handlebar grips. didnt feel the need as i ride always with my gloves on. but seems it has got better grips than 390 duke though still its kinda poky.

Mine can be adjusted but even on the lowest possible setting on the clutch side it is still far off as compared to brake side.Originally posted by jackofsome View Posti am surprised yours are not adjustable.

Actually its to reduce/extend the reach of levers as per individual liking, but the above ones being fake(i had these very same levers) dont do anything except adding a little bling factor.Motorcycling heals, big time...
