Got my RC390 yesterday! A few pics attached. Rode about 90 kms yesterday - the clutch feels very stiff and the seat is hard. The RPM shift indicator comes on at 5K RPM and I have been told that the RPM has been locked till 7.5K RPM till first service.

Will keep updating experiences as I clock more miles. Will be happy to take questions if any till then.

I did a checkup on the mileage when I first fuelled after getting delivery till the low fuel level notification cropped up. I don't believe the console readings it's abrupt as hell. And another thing I noticed I rode a duke 390 and my rc390 back to back. I felt that duke 390 has more tall gearing than that of rc. Am I just feeling like that or is something changed cause in the reviews from the magazines gear ratios are same in both the bikes.

guys anyone has come across any good saddle and tank bags for Rc 390, or can suggest any particular one to try.

        congrats teejay.

Yes the clutch does feel a little hard, it might take time to get adjusted to RC 390's gear shifting also as a lot depends on which RPM you shift the gears.

Personally i feel confortable while shifting on smooth highways, but in city it becomes very annoying while making shifts as it becomes difficult to shift at the required presise RPM unlike highways.

        Please share your riding experience.

          Hi Guys!!

Time for some update on Blade! I got tribocor chain cleaner (TC28) and lube spray (TC205). Cleaned the chain using cleaner and then lubed after doing 450 kms on odo. Sadly, the task turned out far tougher because of lack of paddock stand and anybody to assist. About the cleaner, it is a nice consistent spray and degreases the chain well. I used an old toothbrush mildly to help in cleaning the chain. Cleaning done, it was time for lubing. The lube is thick as hell!!! I shook the bottle well before use but still there was considerable force required for spraying the lube. I did not apply generous quantity fearing for the aftermath but applied enough to get the links soaked.

After letting the lube dry for 24 hrs, took Blade for a long-ride early morning. In total I did about 240 kms over a period of 5 hrs including breaks. Following are some observations:

          1. Lube does spray on the rim. However, there were very tiny spots which got cleaned easily by wiping with cloth.

          2. I can't comment about the effectiveness of the lube. Does not register much change to me. Probably because the chain wasn't all that dirty in first place.

          3. I don't know if it is due to my small frame (I am 5'4") but the saddle is actually very comfortable. The trip consisted mostly of good highways and very little city roads. But even during the ride and post-ride as well, there was no soreness. I was apprehensive that I might have sore bottoms the next day but everything was fine. Of course, the saddle has little cushion but to me it provides nice support.

          4. There was a small ghat section en route (this actually was the objective of my ride as wanted to test the cornering) and Blade absolutely blew me off. For someone with hardly any experience or knowledge, RC390 makes one feel far more capable. Cornering is like point-and-shoot!! Just point towards the corners and watch the magic unfold. I had gone totally unprepared though. Next time, I'll do homework and try something good.

          5. Operation of the radiator fan is something that confuses me. After a long ride, when the coming to standstill, the fan kicks in. However, turning off the engine turns the fan off as well. Even if I stall the engine by stalling gear such that console stays on, the fan turns off. The problem now is that post this, the coolant temperature keeps rising. Currently, since it is winter, the temperature remains two bars shy of full but I am pretty certain that in summers, it will go higher. Will this not cause problem then? One alternative is that I keep the engine on in neutral and let fan try and cool things down but since the engine is on already, I doubt its efficacy.

Is there any hack to ensure that fan remains on even after bike turns off while console power is on? More importantly, is there any need to do so?

And below are couple of pics from the ride

Any idea how many Rc390 we have in Bangalore( and from xBHP ) ?
            I think it's 3 now.

About the post regarding FE : +1 to the post by Balgi. I got 27kmpl on the first tank, follow what Balgi said religiously and you should get there. I don't idle the bike for 2 minutes though, I keep in 2/3rd gear till the engine warms up and then move to next gear. I don't use 6th gear regularly either.

Secondly, don't judge the bike at 200kms. Pre first service the mileage is low and I'll tell you this right now that the mileage indicated on the console is more inaccurate than saying Hitler was korean. But if you want higher fe from your bike right now, try riding it in only 4gears in the city at 6.5k rpm and don't shift before that. And try to almost redline it every once or twice just briefly. Warm up in the morning for at least 2mins before first service and for 1min after first service before riding for best results and don't lug the bike about much at low speeds on higher rpm.
The bike is basically very thirsty upto 60kmph so keep it above 60 and below 80kmph before first service for higher fe and lower vibrations.
Do these and post results. I guarantee an fe of at least 25kmpl before 1st service unless there's something wrong with your bike.
            Cheers

Hope it won't be too much for replacement. Heard that the seat is imported.

Don't know if imported or not but the seats are not readily available. So cost currently is the least of his worries.

In Bangalore, the Indiranagar KTM itself has delivered approx 25 RCs till now. Not sure how many are a part of xbhp.

Are you a part of the RC390 Bangalore owners group?

Overall, getting used to the hard seat and the clutch now. The bike is not as easily flickable as the Duke390 or the R15.
Got Pfz anti puncture solution installed yesterday. The MRP is Rs. 1200 but got a good discount courtesy KTM Indiranagar and the RC390 Bangalore Owners group.

The pillion seat is actually imported from Canada, so could be quite expensive.

Can you give me details of the puncture solution ? The store and how much without discount?

If there happens to be a puncture, the solution would ensure no air loss. Plus, you just have to pluck out the nail/ etc. stuck into the tyre - the solution would fill the gap and seal it for good - no need to make bigger hole and insert the usual rubber strip.

The reason I got it is by the time you realise that there is a puncture and get it fixed, you would have already run on reduced air pressure, reducing the tyre life. Happened with the R15 before.
I got it from KTM Indiranagar showroom. I have no clue on how much it would cost without discount; but if you tell them that you are from the RC390 owners group, you should get the discount.

+1 to that. Riding gear is a must. I know its not fool proof and people have sustained injuries and died wearing riding gear but the number of casualties is far less than the number of people who escaped death because of wearing it.
Btw bro. Correct me if I'm wrong but he looks dead.
