Went with my friend for his RC's first service. Changed oil, filter, got DoT4 Motul brake oil and few nuts and bolts which fell off while riding on track. Bill was Rs1560. As per me, its ok compared to the price of the bike. He increased the rpm cut off to 13000rpm as he will be riding on track next week too

What?! Brake fluid was over so soon? That's not right. I still haven't had to top up brake fluid on my duke and I've had it 5 months, ridden 6300kms.

I guess he means topped up the brake fluid.

Nope, he changed it to Motul DOT4, bleeding was done for the same. He rode on track, and on track front brake is used too many times, resulting in decreasing of fluid level.

I used one full tank from IndianOil and then been running on Shell for almost 2 full tanks.
This engine needs some time to warm up. Start the bike before u do ur daily morning routine (dusting the bike off, gearing up, etc.). Start riding once u see atleast one bar on the temperature gauge. Be very gentle with the throttle till u see at least 3 bars.

This should help resolve the jittery bike feeling you have been getting in the start.

Also one doubt when I was throttle blipping when down shifting, the RPM used to shoot up like crazy not at all like the 200. Don't know if it was because of that particular test ride bike or in general a 390 thing.

I think he meant lagging and not roughness. Meaning the bike has a fuel supply issue not rough hard engine. Of course I'm reading into his description of the problem (bike feels like its running out of fuel).

Guys just a word of advice.. Doubles is not meant for rcs.. Especially if you're pillion rider is around 85 to 90 kgs.. Bottom scrapes in bumpers.. It happened with me in the morning.. Although the tire pressure was 25 front and 32 rear.. Still it scrapes.. So be careful..

So does the duke. Point is the ktm bikes, especially 390s have a soft rear suspension and Rc's have a lowered front suspension. Which means that if you're going over a speed breaker as you would when riding any 150cc bike, the Rc will scrape because of the soft rear suspension and lowered riding angle. Just go really slow when going over speed breakers. I am 87kgs and have two close friends who ride pillion with me weighing 85kgs and 102kgs respectively. I have only scrapped my bike twice or thrice till date from purchase and that too because I didn't know how to ride it back then (I mean ktm, I've been riding since I was 11yrs old).

Hmmm.. I went as slow as 5kmph but still it scraped. Yeah correct because of the suspension set up. This ground clearance problem will never leave me be it my old Pulsar be it my car [emoji30] this thing I have to get used to it. It hurts like crazy when that scraping sound comes. [emoji22]

Sometimes our mistakes are the cause of bottom scraping.
What if i tell you that you should cross speed-breakers while accelerating the vehicle and not while under braking ?
This is because when we brake, the front-end compresses and the rear lifts up, thus reducing the GC and if the vehicle is in acceleration, the GC increases.
What you should do is slow down some distance before the speed-breaker and cross while the vehicle us in acceleration. For example if you usually cross speed-breakers at 5kmph (lets assume) , then slow down to that speed a couple of meters before and then start accelerating slightly as you cross over. I have been doing the same and don't scrap my bike anymore.

                          Ride safe and have fun.

To be fair, the RC bikes are not meant to carry pillions. We need to get over this couple on two wheels 70s concept.
Motorcycles make special provision for a two person bike and KTM's are single rider bikes though they fit a mini cushion behind just for the sake of it.

You mean they fit the joke of the year behind just for the sake of it.
I wish they had been bold enough to supply the bike with single seat. Like how Enfield supplies the Conti gt.
