Also, rc390 underbelly is different/wide than the rc200. @Pizzaboi, we will need the race underbelly for more lean angles.
Still waiting for the race fairing from Mukul & Autologue. Until then I guess it is just us scraping the under belly

As you can see, the belly keeps scraping on the right, the left is still pristine

As mentioned before the rear is over tired. I don't think you will ever use the entire tire until you are literally grinding your footpegs off and when you do that I am pretty sure you will end up with a hole in the under belly fairing. The plastic isn't as thick as it seems. Routinely hit the elephant's ear and a few times the second notch but nothing beyond that

The front on the other hand is absolutely shredded, no sign of Mr.Elephant or the nothches

Nope, you are never going to get rid of the chicken strips on the rear.

Enjoyed thoroughly. Considering the best lap time of 1.13.556 on 2.2 km stretch, rough calculation gives me an average speed of 107 kmph. Wow

I'll just leave this here, if at all any new, very recent adopters are feeling blue from the R3 news (me included). R3 is a great bike nonetheless. Hell, every bike in this category is great.

That cheered me up a little. (I know those numbers won't matter in real life and that CBR300R will be the best with greater fuel economy and "Honda" :P)

New problem today. Radiator fan stopped working. Temperature soared to the highest point and bike finally stopped with ' high coolant temperature ' showing on the speedo. I was at the red light near pragati maidan, so dragged the bike to the other side. I waited for 10 mins or so and kept turning the ignition on and off. But the fan still didn't show any sign of life.

Got some water from the road side vendor. And started spashing it on the radiator and engine. 2 liters down and voila temp bar came down and bike started. I loaded up 2 bottles filled to the brim in the bag and started off with the hope of reaching svc(Vaishali metro) thats about 12 kms, before 7 pm.

Soon after the fan did start, but not as violently as it used to, it was lot quiter, calmer. I could barely hear any noise at all. Temperature gauge stayed 2 levels below but fan speed got weaker and by the time I reached svc the fan had stopped again and temperature started to rise.

All's well that ends well they say. It was 10 minutes to 7 and the shutters were being shut. But these guys were helpful. They booked the bike in. Let's see what else is in store.

A stupid question but has the second fan run longer than the first one. Mine is barely 2 months old and done little over 4000 kms. Is it like a certain kms or time frame that these fans run for

I think this fan has got tough work cut out for itself. Riding in city pretty much makes it do overtime by running all throughout.

                          Hello Buddy,
Well, I have been in and out with the fan issues and have practically a phd in the radiator fan issues. I had the radiator fan changed thrice and the heat sensor changed once. Well as per the SVC; the 2014 fans was defective and problems cropped up similar to what you are facing. I have the very same issues that you faced. Now they have installed the latest 2015 model fan (2014 or 2015 is printed on the fan assembly) and I have no problems. The fan speed and noise is the same as the day they had fitted it and no heating issues till now. I just hope I did not open my mouth too fast.... The 2014 model fans gave trouble as in after a certain number of kms; they start getting stuck and hence seize to run and if they do, then the rpm is slow.

Do not ever pour water on the engine when it is hot as you have the risk of the head cracking or serious damages. Just wait for it to cool.

thanks for the tip. Now i can only hope that svc has 2015 fan in stock.

Has anyone considered the option of using the fan from R15 or cbr. Is that possible?

This fan issue was more expected during summer. Its interesting that these fans give up in comparatively cool temperature of monsoon

                                Indeed.

The fan has been replaced under warranty. I must mention here that the bike though is a bag of surprises, no qualms or regrets, but its the after sale service that is quite satisfactory

I left the bike there yesterday at 10 mins to 7 pm. And mentioned that I need the bike back today as have to reach office by 11:30. Service advisor the bike would be ready by 10:30 AM. I reached there at around 10:20 and to my surprise the bike was up on the ramp with the old fan out and new fan already in, testing was done aswell and bike was just missing the fairing bits which took another 5-10 mins to be put on the bike.

no additional cost, no labour or part cost. Just 70 bucks for a chain thightening and one rivet for the fairing. Not bad I say. I just hope the new fan would last longer.
