buying an elephant comes with it own daily dose of food. there is no restriction where you can ride it and cannot. people here use super bikes for highway rides and commutes too. i have seen folks even going vegetable shopping on a fire blade on this very forum and i don't find anything wrong in it. however keeping it in check as people tend to fiddle with them is an issue. if you are want to commute also and have a safe parking spot then why not.

however 20L is huge huge amount. most families don't even save that much in their lifetime. hence spend wisely.

The one thing i hate the most is the peoples tendency to ruin others stuff coz they dont have it.. my r15 2008 is in great condition but its the third time i have noticed someone key out the stickkers from the tanks and ends.. its so bloody annoying.. the key marks are permanent on the tank and it annoys me every time i wash my red devil.. also some a hole keyed the whole right side fairing a few days back.. i hate people and would shoot the damn person without a second thought.. i was hell bent on a benelli 600i but after the incident with my r15 i am in double minds coz i can replace the fairing and cowlings on the yammy easily without burning a hole through my pocket.. with benelli it would be an eye sore for a long long time.. hence the decision to better buy an RC as soon as it is updated and replace parts on the cheap.. god i hate people..

For the price, RC 390 is the best what the Indian market has to offer. Daily commuting over long distance can become a strain on your back and wrist. Do go for a test drive before taking a final decision.

Totally agree with you,Danish. I have to be constantly on the lookout where the bike is okay or not, even during client meets. More scary is the fact that someone might try to sit on the bike and not be able to control the weight and falls. Possibilities are endless. Moreover, such a huge amount, that too on finance, sums up close to 20 Lakhs. That's almost life savings money for a lot of us,mine included.

I have seen a loser shoo away a dog by aiming a stone at it, thereby hitting the exhaust of a parked Busa. I don't want that to happen with my SBK. The terms Practicality and VFM goes down the drain with the ownership of a superbike.

Didn't have the good fortune of seeing the thing live yet. The dealers are taking bookings without having a demo bike. I doubt whether they have got any bookings or not.

R3 has its own set of problems.. 1st and foremost are the absolutely horrendous tires.. rc with metzlers and yamaha are giving mrf.. no abs.. no upside down forks.. the tubular frame instead of the deltabox frame.. i have been a yamaha loyalist and have been waiting for the R15 upgrade since ages but somehow the r3 isnt as captivating as the R15 was back in the day.. also i am not exactly a fan of the upright seating position like on the karizmas and pulsars.. if it looks bad ass sporty let it have that sporty stance..

Well said bro, its nice to hear from real biker and not just another company loyalist.

I knew I would never buy a r3 for simple reason its really costly and the price doesn't make sense to me.

Yes you get extra cylinder and better power delivery and mid range, but I don't wanna spend that much money on a entry level super sport.

I am buying a rc390 and all I can say is I will keep it for max 6 years, until Jeremy Clarkson says powerrrrr and I move on to next best thing.

Have fun on a rc or duke 390 and move on, which you definitely will. If KTM never existed and r3 was only motorcycle, people would buy an rs200 and or r15.

Think which motorcycle or scooter you started with and now you are in the league of entry level super sport, who knows what next.

And motorcycles in general have bad resale value, so buy rc390 save money and buy next upgrade.

Bro i am not a fan of the ktm also.. its a compromise as far as i see it.. the build quality isnt stellar as many have reported the lever nuts going lose or the infamour radiator fan issue.. battery cover going lose and also the heat dessipation could have been better.. people say its a single cylinder so it tends to heat up more and rattle and vibrate but still.. cooking the thighs in traffic jams just to get a momentary rush just doesnt do it for me.. i am waiting for the upgraded rc which i hope they do launch at the auto expo next year and the twin cylinder duke 800 (fingers crossed).. i would take a twin duke any single day over asingle cylinder Rc although i am a sucker for fairings (indian after all man)..

Hi guys any of you seen white smoke coming from exhaust during a cold start as in cousins case during cold start their is lot of white smoke as if its a two stroke bike

We had left the bike to Mekhri circle Ktm and they said the valve seals are gone and they have replaced it under warranty .

Now comes the worst part after we got the bike back the white smoke is more and their is oil dripping at the end of the silencer.

This is just a 3months old bike and the way smokes comes out as if its a two stroke bike

I'm planning to contact KTM as after replacing the seals their is some rattling noise and oil is dripping from the silencer .

I have the video with me will upload shortly

Here is the link of the video

Just when I was confident on purchasing, bro I m scared too and the above post makes me more scared, don't know what to do.

Anyone, up for help!!! Should I or not buy rc390. I know parts are cheap but the only thing I love about this motorcycle is its motor and chassis.

There will always be something better!
There are niggles, no doubt - the radiator issue ( fixed under warranty), the heat dissipation ( never had a problem with this maybe because I dont ride wearing shorts), the cheap quality parts ( aftermarket parts available ) and the rattling( annoying ), the fuel tank!

The only other option in this segment ( not price) is the N300 which is quite expensive to buy and maintain! So you gotta make a trade off between whats affordable in the long run and something that is just oozing with quality.

Oh did I mention 44 horses and those Metz ? Once you get used to it, all the above said problems wont really matter other than the fuel tank.

AFAIK KTM isn't attending Auto Expo next year. But they said we'll definitely get to see 2017 versions (Duke guaranteed, don't know about the RC) at EICMA next year which is in Nov 2016.

I love that engine and I owned lots of bajaj product and I know there quality ain't best, but the repair work cost is also low.

My pulsar 180's only service cost is engine oil and few parts every 2 years, and about the rattles, my pulsar has more fevikwik and strings then a(I don't have comparison).

My disk break lever some how became loose and only way was to buy a new one, Instead I got a roll of nylon string and tied around neatly and voila you have rattle free front lever.

I hope KTM also is as radd as bajaj and yeah there is always after market parts.

Will buy KTM RC390. and thanks for the motivation.
