Might be loose from the beginning. I had it tightened just after the delivery, and its same after 4300kms.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Hello All,
I have previously owned a duke 39o, but due to some unforeseen circumstances, I had to let it go.
Now I am back to Ktm stable and almost done with the loan process to purchasing it.
My question is, what amount of minimum fuel is required to run an rc 390 and how can the minimum amount determined by just looking at the fuel meter.
I have never seen this question asked or answered in the PDI list, as most people answer is "enough fuel", but forget to mention amount of fuel for the fuel pump to work.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
I suggest to keep above reserve limit when it starts showing low fuel indicator such engines can't be kept with low fuel. Practically u can keep but keeping it half tank or above seems to be a legit behaviour anyways the tank capacity is too small

I have seen KTM selling bigger tanks as power parts for dirt bikes.
I have seen this crazy video in YouTube the other day, a guy bent his dirt bike tank, luckily it was plastic, so what he did is pour some hot water and modified the tank cap with a tyre valve and pumped air into the tank.
Shockingly everything was fine and he claims tank size increased from 10.5 to 13.5 liters.Last edited by amarme001; 08-22-2015, 05:34 PM.

for rc series there is no such market however for dirt, dual sports you get a lot of after market 30L and more raneg tanks which are fibre based from KTM as 3rd party vendors also. nothing such available here. also if you make such changes to a bike like RC. adding extra weight at wrong places will change the mass centralization and dynamics adversely.
there are multiple ways of repairing tanks , hot water , pressurized air, even filling water and then freezing it. the ice pops out the dent sometimes."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Some miscreant had made my rhs mirror very loose. Whenever i crossed 70/80kmph, the mirror would gradually come backwards. Fed up with this problem, i thought the only fix is to somehow inject some glue/loctite and make the loose ball socket hard. And i came to this conclusion because i had read at many instances that mirror is one peice and thought that it didnt have any scope for tightening because you really cant see anything on the stalk except a hex bolt for led. As a last resort, opened up the led bolt and found this.
On further opening, i could separate the mirror and the stalk.
Tightened back everything, and fixed it back.
Makes me wonder why they sell the entire mirror as one unit, because you can separate the led, the stalk and the mirror.
Hope it helps.Motorcycling heals, big time...
