    • Had my first test ride of the GS150R today. It was a short ride. a friend was interested in the bike and i accompanied him. I went solo and these are my observations. These come from a TVS Apache and RTR fi owner.

      - Excellent Build quality. The tank looks and feels great.

      - Easily the best instrument console on the Indian bikes today. The start up graphics are superb. The placement of the indicator blinkers on teh console is funky. Couldnt figure out the dual mode thingy.

      - Neat switch gear and grips. Comfortable handle bar.

      -Seating position is extremely comfortable.

      - Looks good. Side profile is the best view. The LED tail lamps look fab. The rear is of course marred by that 100/90 tyre which makes it look too thin. Also all doubts of it being too conventional and common is blown away.

-The engine felt a tad underpowered. Maybe the weight is the culprit.

-The gear shift is excellent and the way the engine pulls from very low speed on the 6 th gear is definitely noteworthy. No hiccups whatsoever.

-It felt very stable under heavy braking. I felt the brakes to be better than the Pulsar 150 and Unicorn. It is still not as good as the classic Apache which has a similar disc diameter.

      -Headlights are on par.

      -Nice exhaust note.

My conclusion as told to my friend is - If you looking at complete no nonsense biking with some added goodies, then the GS is for you. The uni just does not cut it anymore.
      R.I.P kriss.

uni also i heard its not good in this matter

then wats good zma i guess

        • headlight adjustment

In the manual i am finding a section which shows how to adjust headlight beam vertically using a screw. The problem is the pic given in the manual, is not clear enough for me to understand.
So can any1 of GS owners tell me where this screw is actually located? A pic will be most welcome.
I like to meditate a lot.. On my BIKE!

          • There was a thread earlier about the Motoman run-in method. I believe the manual method&follow it strictly. The Motoman run-in method could be good for higher capacity bikes.

              • ^^^ the previous thread on old Xbhp on motomans was very helpful. In fact, that thread made up my mind to follow motoman method. Anyhow, the bike is in warranty, so if anything goes wrong, you can always use the warranty. But there were clear experiences of Indian people on that thread saying motoman's method works good. I remember one particular example of HH splendor, the poster and his friend bought their new splendours around same time. The poster stuck to the manual, and the friend ripped the bike from the word go. THe poster mentioned that friend's bike was giving more mileage, and even more responsive than his.

And I haven't read a single example of motoman's method gone wrong. So why not?

                        • How is the service backup provided by Suzuki in Hyderabad? Do they allow you to oversee your vehicle while it is being serviced, or do they ask you to wait in a customer lounge?

                          • I witnessed my bikes service at Ghaziabad service center, for me their service is nothing to compain about...

BTW got the second service done, I could not find philips bulb for the headpight...strange and I dont know why all had halonix, rear brakes were tweaked again and performance is far better, disc are the same no change, engine sound has gone more refined, clutch has become butter smooth, GEAR shifting has improved but I still get those lock ups while sudden deacceleration, what else....rest for me the bike is getting smoother n smoother with every km I cover....

BTW a question for others, does this bike has tubeless tyres, I think not..... I asked the service man he said no but they are better then the usual tube tyres.....no idea what he meant by that....... may be he means this bike has tuff up tubes (which also he didnt have a clue)......any ideasss???

Hehehe! It has conventional tube type tyres only. I think the mechanic is feeling really proud about Suzuki's latest offering!

                              • And no tough up tube either. THat's the honda thing, they have some kind of liquid between tube and the tyre, so whenever there is a puncture, the liquid seals the hole (if it is small). You can get the same in market, sold by company 'Slime'.
