Regarding the fuel mapping, Its a new term to me. I need to take a look at what it is. I skipped those discusions since i did not have any idea. will get back to you as soon i as learn about it. That would be an intresting to learn.

Sam, actually i'm planning to go through all those thread once again to know more about my bike b'coz at that time i did not have my bike. During my PG course in college I had a subject named "Autotronics[Automobile Electronics] and Vehicle Intelligence". We studied the theory in detail about the sensor used in bikes, cars and the circuit design for those sensors. So now i think its going to get practical. Its been around more than 2 years since i studied that but let me see what i can recollect. Now do you say those discussions would have been borin' ? I think even If one were not a 'technical kind of guy' he needs to know how the components in bike works. Its no use simply drivin' mad and not knowing the basics.Originally posted by sam9s View Post

He he. If you ask me this is the exact characteristics that I love about my Pulsar 150 Classic. The "bite" of the brake is superb but you have to be careful about the surface on which you "pull that lever". Pull the brake fully on muddy or gravely road and you are done for! Panic brake while the front suspension is still not fully compressed and again you are done for! But if you know how to use the brake on this bike, it stops like no other. And this is the only bike on which I use only a single finger while braking!Originally posted by HydBiker View PostAs shadowfax mentioned, we gotta sqeeze the brake level even on the R15 and the Karizma and even to an extent on the RTR. On Pulsars I am afraid to pull that lever.
I have seen that, later years bike like Karizma, Unicorn, Hunk and even the Pulsar UGIII do not offer that kind of bite compared to the first generation Pulsars. Maybe to prevent accident happening in case of unexperienced riders. I recall original Pulsars were called Nut Busters for this very reason.
So, if you do not want that extra edge while braking, the newer bikes including the GS150 offers perfect balance between providing braking bite and preventing wheel lock.Last edited by abhijeet080808; 05-15-2009, 02:39 PM.Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

As an overall package, I loved it. After the first service I'm planning to take it to my home town. Afer that I'll tell how this performed in the highway.
BTW here are a couple of pics.
Hey Congrats on your new Ride. I too got my Grey GSR on Tuesday. Even i find the Gear Shift between 1st and 2nd to be a bit hard sometimes. Guess it should get better after 1 st Service. And Yes, Vibes are felt around the 3.5K RPM Mark.
Rest everything is Perfect. Enjoy your new Ride.

m not taking bout ur pics in particularOriginally posted by Augustine09 View PostThe Pics were taken in a hurry with my VGA mobile cam just to upload it here, and hence the quality. The SC guy offered me a tank cover free of cost. Actually i did not like it but I would not avoid anything coming free. Thought of planning to remove after 1st service so it looks even more gorgeous. Unlike yesterday today when i drove it to my office, the gear shift seemed to be OK. I'll update about it some time later.
in pics and for that matter even of tv,,,, in the gs ad which is complete injustice to this bike,,,, anyways our media people have lost advertising sense
infact as i said in real its looked diff
and the cover is a very useful thing,,,,,,
dont remove it for show
it will protect the tank against heat,,, n hence prevent petrol from evaporating n also color wont fade away easily,,,,,
plus point being easy to carry small things
u dont wanna sacrifice ur petrol , color , etc for show rite???
enjoy your ride,,,, once u ride it u wont get time to see
unless ur GF who wants it to look good

I rode around 35 kms yesterday evening itself. The butter smooth engine amazed me like anything. The discs was doing a fantastic job. The 3rd and 4th gear pick up was also good. Ride comfort was excellent. I thought the l high heeled gear shift would not be good but i did not feel it was too high.

The head light brightness was not enough. The power mode button was not working when i pressed it but worked when the SC guy did. I dont know why. i need to check it.

Any plans to get that tank bag removed?? Just a personal opinion..it looks really od on such a good bi

Ya when I first got the bike that was the thought I had in mind. But then it also serves for some purposes rightly said by maniac. I have not yet decided and will not until my first service. may be afterward if i feel that it is of some use then I'll not remove it just for looks.Originally posted by DASCO View PostAny plans to get that tank bag removed?? I saw an Orange GS at a traffic signal today. Coming from the left side of the junction to the road I am coming from (I was sitting in my Esteem). W normally built guy and he was zip zapping the bike through traffic with ease... and the headlight seemed to have very good reflector... once when the beam hit my eyes it was strong.
BTW, the important thing is that the bike has good street presence... looks big and stylish.
he he... trying to ignite the ignition mapping stuff again???Originally posted by Augustine09 View PostRegarding the fuel mapping, Its a new term to me. I need to take a look at what it is. Hi guys... I went to the SC today for my 1st service... I saw around 5 GS owners there... Spoke with 2 of them.... Both felt that the disc brake is ok and the rear is useless... One guy has come for his 2nd service... He gets around 45-50km mileage with rpm at above 6k most of the times... Another one said he gets around 50-55km.. He is a middle aged man
Lets come to my bike... I met one mechanic personally and told him about the brake issue... He said the play of the disc brake cannot be adjusted since its a default setting from suzuki.. He said he ll check the disc oil and the brake pads....
Change of oil + buzzer for indicators = Rs.311
Does any1 knw abt the type of engine oil used in GS? Whats the cost?

any suggestions? any oil brand suggestions???
GS uses 20w40 oil from Castrol. You can use Castrol Avtive 4T,Shell Advance 4S & there are many more oils with the 20w40 viscosity. You can go to the shop & tell him that you need a 20w40 oil & you will have various options.Originally posted by Bubbly View PostHi guys... I went to the SC today for my 1st service... Both the oils should cost around Rs.150-200/-
I get an average of 61kmpl with a variable speed, max being 75-80kmph.Again the average depends on from person to person because different people different riding skills & styles.
BTW what is the mileage you getting ?

@topic - changing oil has made the engine smoother than what it was, but the problem of ROUGH ENGINE persists.. waiting for the 2nd service now
btw, i used castrol activ4T engine oil and it costed me 215/- ...Last edited by alkemyst; 05-16-2009, 08:27 PM.I like to meditate a lot.. On my BIKE!
