  • Most of the idiots who do the PDI do not know how to handle a new bike

BTW, just change ur engine oil after 100 kms of riding. It is a good procedure to follow.
When everything comes ur way, u r in the wrong way ;)

        • Can somebody throw some light on how the Fuel Reserve System works on the GSR? I got my Bike today but will be getting the Manual in a day or two.

Is it like if the Fuel Cork is in ON Position and the Bike comes in reserve, it will start giving Jerks and stop, just like the normal bikes. And then change the Cork to Reserve and then start the Bike again?
How much is the Reserve Fuel Capacity of this Bike?

Today when i filled 200 Rupees Petrol, the Fuel Indicator was showing 2 Dots. Later, it dropped to one. Is it in Reserve now? Though the Cork is still in ON Position.
I do not want to end up with an Empty Tank.

i dont know in which mode the bike comes in, but i can help you with your other queries.
Yes, the bike start giving jerks when it comes in reserve if its in ON position and its your wish you want to stop the bike, turn the knob to RES and restart it.. or you turn the knob while riding which will stop the jerky motion..
one DOT doesnt mean its in reserve.. the bike's reserve capacity is around 3.1 L.. it means your bike has almost 4L of petrol in it.. the one dot will still be the same even if it comes in reserve, however it starts blinking when there is almost 1.5L petrol remaining in the tank..

Now, don't start thinking like "I've been riding bikes for so many years and do I have learn a braking technique now from someone or for this bike specially"... I have been rising two wheelers for over 20 years now and I have started to learn correct braking methods only some 4 years back. This despite the fact that I knew the theory part of proper braking technique for the past 15 years Most of us have the habit of using rear brake hard and many don't even use the front brake! Also, brakes would apply progressively... they shouldn't lockup the wheel... again, we are used to locking up kind of braking for many years now.
Wow! never knew that Braking was an art in it self which you have to learn in order master... Anyway I already have posted m comments that I did feel the brakes were not up to the mark as compared to the test bike I drove but as joy pointed "b4 first service proper n uniform wear tear of the liner has to take place so its purposely kept lil lose" seems perfectly logical to me. So may be that cold be the reason that I felt brakes to be ok after my bikes first service....anyhow I can stop dead on from 85-90 to 0 by applying the brakes comfortably (both disc and drum) I think I am pretty much ok with the this bikes brakes.....

I just booked a GS150R yesterday and expecting to get it by 14th evening. This is my first post in this web site.

Hey Sams9 thanks for your post. I've read carefully before making the decision. I guess you had posted in Think-digit forum also if I'm right. I live in Chennai so was looking for a commuting bike. Once or twice a month I'll be making trips to my home town Vellore(around 150Kms from chennai). So kind of needed a bike that would suit both city and highway conditions.

Will post the pics when I get my hands on my baby. Gr8 to see a place to discuss on...
congratts to you too buddy and you are welcome......yes I am on think digit as well, r u the member there (wht ID?).......

So you are member 16th on GS Club if I am not wrong....welcome aboard, do post pics and a small review when you get your bike ok.....

people would still prefer it over something else

                    brother sorry for late reply

it does not matter whether the disc is on the right side or the left side
                    its the same thing
just a cosmetic difference in order to look different from other bikes
                    thats it

                    dont worry
the side where the disc is situated is not a problem
