  • Yesterday i saw a big Pulsar 150. Then damned myself coz it was a GSR150!

The GSR 150 looks quite big on the road.

bro i feel you are lucky to get a good piece

also the sc guys employed by suzuki are lame like a mule and much worse than local gully mechs .......... atleast as far as i know
or they are reluctant to change anything.........or are too lazy

braking is one of the most important factors n basic one which is needed to be good for safety
but still as a sam says it improves
it must be so but they could have come up with something better
n they should if they want to win over uni otherwise its a distant dream

and someone over here said that S on the majestic fuel tank is injustic
lol brother it is their logo,,,,, even on the mighty busa..... there is the same S
Bro... have u purchased GS ?? I thought u were confused in karizma-r and unicron

Those vapors are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.
guys, 1 ques.. if the vapors can sucked up back to the storage tank, wat good it will do? Will the vapors condense and form the petrol again?
If yes, then the same thing will happen in bike's petrol tank too.. at high temp it will become vapor but as the vapors wont go out, at low temp it will condense back as petrol.. right??

          • so far issues noticed are-

            1) vibrations at 3k rpm
            2) rust in tank
            3) weak disc brake

In spite of all issues Im conveinced that as a package, GS150R is the best bike in sub 70k 150cc class... especially when compared with pulsar and cbz-xtreme... only it may be beaten by unicorn in terms of quality. i kinda feel that some ppl generally overexpect from this bike. c'on man.. this is 1st gen bike. and we compare it with 4th gen unicorn, 3rd (or 4th?) gen cbz and 3/4th gen pulsar... 1st gen bike has some issues though. problems get rectified first and then are solved in the next gen of any vehicle, isn't it ? even see FZ, it has some issues too!! No bike is 100% perfect. only that percentage is more or less.
            Best of luck everyone!!
My GS150R will arrive in June.

May be storage tank has cooling system for this, which is not there in bike's. Not sure, just a guess

BTW I am getting my black GS on monday.
Think I m the 15th owner in xbhp.

u are right sagar when u talked abt comparing 1st gen bike with an already established bike. But the thing is pple selected this 1st gen bike over those proven bikes, and from a buyer's perspective anybody would like to own a perfect bike after spending so much of money. It cant be perfect, we know, but atleast it should be better than those bikes which are proven and established.
realised one more negative of GS.. the weight is not proportionate/balanced in the front and the rear, i.e. front part is heavier which makes it more prone to skidding in rain/sand/gravel.

n ya, all the best for ur GS bro

congrats dude.. black eh!! i have the same color n i can assure u abt one thing, it will take a lot of hard work to keep the bike dust free n shining.

regardin run-in tips - i dont think u need any suggestions except given in the manual. u can try running it in ECO mode, it will remind you whenever you try to cross 4k rpm and in that way u will nt violate the 5k rpm barrier.

                  • Guys, those who are feeling that the front disc is not very effective, I have a few things you might want to check.

                    > tyre pressure and keeping in mind that most SC's and petrol pump meters are not accurate. Forget about those road side puncture walah's. If they fill 30 PSI it would be mor ethan 45 PSi many times.

                    > What bikes have you used earlier? Did they have disc brakes? Was that a Pulsar? If you are not used to disc brakes, it takes a little while to understand the bite it gives as compated to the drum brakes. If you came in here from Pulsar's, you would feel a lot of difference as the disc's on Pulsars almost lockup. The GS is progressive braking like all Japanese bikes do.

                    > Any new brake pads (and even the disc) needs a little run in. They won't bite the best in the first shot. But then, this should not take a few 100's of KM's either.

                    > Please check for any kind of slippery material (even petrol/kerosine) that can cause lubrication on the disc.

                    > Is the Brake fluid master cyllinder showing proper level for the fluid? Though very unlikely on a new bike, please check if the level is lower.

                    > Use the disc for more bite (press it hard if needed) and use the rear drum to help further with braking. Don't press the rear hard.

just a few thoughts that might help you in the right direction.

I use an R15, rode to the showroom on the R15 & a fellow xBhpian's RTR - bikes with probably the best braking on our roads. I felt absolutely no problem with the GS150R's braking. I am even used to the Karizma!

                      • hi guys, i'm new to this forums..

i am really interested in this bike coz every 1 says it has a gr8 riding quality, comfort, lacks vibrations, good mileage and good power. So i was planning to buy it, but now i see that some people are facing problems with it like rusting of tanks and other parts, low breaking quality, vibrations, low mileage etc....

am really confused now.... should i go for this bike? or should i buy either hunk or pulsar 200?

gs 150r is a new bike...n i have no idea wheather this bike will cause any problems later.....or not. & this is the version 1,so if its a flop n suzuki halts its production, then it will also stop providing its spares...so i'll be in a big problem.I'v started doubting suzuki's quality now.

                        pls help me out guys..
                        eagerly w8in for responses...

                        thank you

Don't think Pulsar will be free from all these.
                          Hunk may be...
Im myself confused too now. Have to dig more till root about this rusting and vibes issue. Hydbiker has explained brakes.

one thing i found is that choosing a bike is a real headache when u dont know what you actually want,,,,,,,,,,
every thing has its pros n cons ......
its just that whatever u choose ..... u should love it like a gf with open arms ,,,,, accept whatever it is and the most important thing
understand ur ride n has as much knowledge possible bout it as u can

                            eg from xbhp are :
joel sir who loves his fiero
or ravi@17bhp sir who simply loves his zma

well...i like every aspect of a bike, power, pikup, comfort, riding quality etc etc... and i also know that no bike is perfect...

gs has better comfort riding, quality, mileage etc, where as it lacks power n may be quality. pulsar 200 has better power n performance and got all types of gizmos...but lacks comfort n quality also. hunk has good comfort n it is reliable, but mileage is low and it vibrates....
so any of the above bike is suitable for me...

i was interested in gs 150r the most coz i thaught it has everything except for power...but now ppl r finding faults in it..
