One more potential GSR owner
I too took a TD recently. I am 5'10" and 89 kg. I guess the bike suits my stature quite well. I need a bike to commute to my office everyday.. a trip of 20 km up and down. I need a bike that is stylish, not flashy, gives decent acceleration and cruising power (need not burn rubber) and blends perfectly with my typical office-goer persona. The bike fits the bill perfectly. I think I am gonna buy one very soon.Originally posted by thefalcon View Post

Nobody even bothers to even acknowldge thread owner's post!!!!........Tauheeeennnn!!!!......lolOriginally posted by sam9s View PostI know I have been out of the discussion lately, I have been busy as my mother in not feeling good these days...........but I just thought to drop in to let people know....completed 7000 KM on ma GS and going absolutely good. Few things I would confirm....
After 7000KM....
my bike average is sticking to 50-52 in city.
Disc Brakes I dont know why or how have improved with time and now its locking the bike pretty well.
No rust of any kind anywhere what so ever.
No change in engine smoothness and ride comfort
No flaw either physical or internal what so ever.
I still havent changed the headlight so cant comment on that.
3 Services completed and no complain in that department as well.
and BTW I lost the count of GS owners on this thread. Any one who can put some light on how many GS owners are there in the family now.
and congratts to all new entrants.......
Happy GS riding..... :-)
anyway, to @Vipin ...not a bad idea, I was also thinking people to post their current ODO reading as well. For me as I said avg is between 50-55 and ODO reading is 7063......

Guys help me choose between pulsar 150 and gs150r.
I heard both bikes give same mileage,50-55...
so now i want to know which is more powerful.
(acceleration more preference than top speed because in bangalore anyway u cant touch more than 70 or 80)

By going acceleration P150 is little ahead GS in 1st and 2nd gears.. In 4,5,6 GS zooms ahead pulsar....Originally posted by thefalcon View PostGuys help me choose between pulsar 150 and gs150r.

My bro owns a pulsar 150 and the best mileage he gets is 42-45.(He maintains the bike really well)Originally posted by thefalcon View PostGuys help me choose between pulsar 150 and gs150r.

I own a gs, and i get around 50 (Been just 20 days so a rough estimate)
If power is more important.. pulsar rocks

Guys, visit the 2009 HAYABUSA...Dream come true. thread. I've clicked some photos of the beast. GS shares many cosmetic similarities with Busa.

Hi Sam...welcome back...its really been along time...since your last post....Sorry to hear your mother is not feeling well...believe me I know how it feels....hope she gets well soon....
Bro we missed you really very much....actually to be frank I had decided to buy the GS by reading your first post itself....it would have convinced anybody to buy the bike....
Anyway I will be buying thebike next month....In my home they are not allowing to buy this month saying that....the time is not so good and all those stuff....so I have decided next month...hopefully...suzuki would have adressed some of the problems in the bike.....
Anyway...welcome back again....and keep posting....your experiences....

The digi speedo and tank(outside atleast) is good.
Thats why i'm so tempted to buy it.
In both showrooms they denied that this rusting occurs at all.(airport road and rajajinagar).they're like we never had a complaint like this till now !!
Hi Bro....I had been to the Rajajinagar showroom man....but when I asked about the rust....one guy...a little aged fellow told me that.....they had rust complaints....but he told me that it was minor...and he suggested me to add a little oil in the petrol once in a month.....so that the petrol tank would not rust....
Anyway I do not think all the GS owners are facing the rust problem...only a few are facing it....
Ya man as you said the bike looks really good..
.I am going to buy it next month....

Bro....I agree that Pulsar is a good bike...I won a Pulsar150DTSi from past 3 years....
It is really good...I don't care what other people tell.....it may have some faults...but it is a damn good bike man.....
i am also from bangalore....but at present I am working in Hyd.....I am also planning to buy the GS.....I also test drove the bike....many times till now....I am planning to buy it next month....
believe me it is really a good bike.....better than Pulsar in some aspects....but as pthers said...in power the Pulsar simply rocks....as also now the power has been increased in the P150.....in 2009 edition...
the GS is more of a cool commuter....with smooth ride...no brute power...and very good on highways too....
OK I agree....read the reviews...take suggestions.....and discuss with experts...but finally I suggest you to go by your heart.....
buy the bike which your heart feels.....
whichever bike you buy everytime you see it..there should be that feeling in your heart...... and you should never regret buying it or never have second thoughts....that's only the thing...
so let us know your decision....I mean your heart's decision...

Yeah sam... so sorry hear that... am sure u will pull thru...
i am a new member.. in fact joined jst today
it was almost 10-12 days ago that a google link directed me here
(lukin 4 some material on the gs... believe me... dependable info is hard 2 come by)
..following the 150-odd pages' thread(as a guest) made me realize dis was what i was lukin 4...(right place as well as the right bike)
loads of thanx to all the members who helped me make this wonderful decision...
finally bought it on the 15th... a blu one despite all the tank rust issue speculations...
As said... all smooth n torquey... no tank rust yet.. checkin evryday
rear brakes cud've been better but spend sometime wid the bike and u come to grips wid it... discs are good...
one question.... how best to clean the matte exterior of the exhaust??

I took a nice 7km test ride of gs150r today

who says the back brakes are bad. on a muddy road i pressed the back brake at 15km/h and the back tyre actually skidded(now i'm worried if skidding is an issue with the bike even though it has zappers).
i sprained my leg trying to kick start.(no idea why kick lever feels so weird though).
the 3.5k rpm vibration is real
i could clearly feel the vibes at the foot pegs(tank and handle were normal though).
The rusting seems to be real too.
could clearly notice it at the mouth of the test ride vehicle.
then i saw the tanks of 3 bikes in the showroom too.2 were perfect.3rd had a small dot of rust.
If anyone has experience with pulsar please tell me which bike vibrates more under the following conditions.?
gs150r(at 3.5k-4k rpm range) or pulsar(consider any range from 0 to 5k rpm)
I heard the quality of pulsars have become low nowadays.
Also heard pulsar starts getting problems after 1 year.
anyone confirm these please..
