  • Today is the 1st anniversary of buying my bike. One year and 12,819 kms. In the morning, I congratulated me and offered myself a cup of tea for choosing this bike. I did it myself as no one else was bothering to do it.

    • Congrats bro, my bike's anniversary was three weeks ago. Added to it, the same day I joined company. Really proud to own it and even now I get suspicious questions from many about the performance of bike.

        Anup,
These are the stock words, I hope. Yesterday, I was not here, was at KMC, Manipal, visiting a friend of a friend of mine, who is admitted there due to an accident. He fell down from his bike some 5 months ago and is not lucky enough to pass away. He is in comma, and fed through a pipe penetrating his throat.

If your bike is brand new then 100-200kms might make the gear shifts better,
If your bike is older than 500kms then you'll have to change oil, check chain tension or may be clutch play to make gears feel smooth.

Third tank!!!!! OMG....falcon bhai.....what was the problem with your previous two tanks....its difficult to believe dear....
they got rusted or something.....from which SVC did you get them in bangalore....??? they replaced two tanks...that's really good service....
            Ya, third tank.
The usual rusting only, i go to airport road suzuki and since i know most of the people there it was little easier for me to get the tank changed.
But by now i guess all SC's know about the tank thing so they change the tank without much fuss.

Now only did I notice that you replied for my post yesterday. I raised the same problem today morning and in first glance I thought you replied for that one. You notice every minute detail. I have edited the previous post, sorry for the misunderstanding.

My fuel tank is also covered with rust. Am I also eligible for the tank change for free??? If yes, then please tell the procedure to do the same.

Ya, you can ask them to change your tank.
Hope your warranty is still there (all services done as per schedule).

Anyway, regarding the procedure, go to the highest level manager at the service center and tell him that tank is rusting and that you want a replacement.
If you feel he is hesitating and giving excuses like its normal, you can just wipe it off etc etc then tell him you'll contact suzuki directly and that it would bring a bad name to the service center if you did so.
(the showrooms actually take this seriously, last time i complained to suzuki directly, the owner came and told me not to contact suzuki and talk to him instead so his showroom doesn't get a bad name)

                      • Motul Mineral Oil

The Motul oil is really very nice. I have been using the Mineral oil for 1800 kms. This included two long trips of 500+ kms & one trip of 300+ km. When I changed the oil yesterday, I check the velocity & colour of the oil. Colour was dark, but not totally. Also the oil velocity seems to be very good. Could have easily gone for another 800-1000 kms.
Also the oil filter looked as if it could take another 1000kms easily.

Next time I will change oil & oil filter at 2500-3000kms. Let me see the condition at that time.

hey mate it's viscosity not velocity...viscosity is the resistance to motion offered by a fluid in general sense....1800 to 2500km is a good interval to change engine oil...keeps engine neat...don't stretch oil change too far if you are doing long rides...while checking colour just see if there are any solid deposits in the oil...it will ensure clean engine internals

Take it easy. "What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet". (Shakespeare). Didn’t you understand what he meant? Both viscosity and velocity are not words we commonly use in our daily life. So this kind of error is common.
Your bike’s gear will soon be OK – after a few more kms.

The engine rpm at the time of gear shifting is making the problem. Partially release the accelerator to reduce the engine rpm before you up-shift and completely release the accelerator and wait the bike to slow down before you downshift. You need a little practice to do it properly. It is better to ask any of your friends to help you in this matter. All the best.
