  • At last the waiting is almost over. I'll get my bike by this morning. I think I've covered a long year.

@mazaid53 for me, the accessories I've to buy were Buzzer, seat cover and Ladies Handle. One more accessory available is tank cover. All others including number plate and crash guard are part of the bike. No extra cost for it.

    • Petrol Tank

To all GSians..there seem to be many cases of Petrol Tank Rusting in GS150R.Please keep monitoring inside of tank, continuously and claim a Tin coated tank(one with tin colored inside) as replacement UNDER WARRANTY. Also do send your particular problem to Suzuki India, for product improvement, and followup.

mumbaikars can either meet on the 30th or maybe we can plan a small G2G at NH3 on 6th of feb!

              You mean towards shahpur.. nashik..
That is a good stretch of road but only after some travelling towards shahpur..the roads are also not very wide...

I would rather suggest palm beach road through which we can go to Lonavala or khandala...

Also can we get gf/spouses/pillion riders or ride solo?

@vishnukmd: Sirji...I am a grease monkey on weekends..oh boy..those black dirty hands...love it!!! i am complaining about gears cos i get to ride new bajaj bikes most of the time..sometimes some other vehicles also, but none of them had this hard shifts...neways some pages back in this thread it's mentioned it might be because of overtight chain...'ll check that tomorrow.

Guys have you all got both number plates as standard?? cos my dealer said they are to be bought separately...many of other member's pics show them as standard hence the doubt.

I bought mine from Riya suzuki, number plate, side stand, saree guard, etc came standard.. bargained & got seat cover, buzzer, parking cover, etc free

                • fuel consumption test

Yesterday,i brought a fuel consumption test bottle with pipe & conducted test on various settings of the bike.
I rode in the city, no highway running at all. Rarely reached top gear. rarely crossed 40kph. The turns mentioned below are the golden screw turns as in the post of mach50, carburetor tunning.
                  Below are the results.

                  1st test:
                  90ml : 4.6km : 2.5 turns : God mode : Mostly in 2-3 gears, top gear not used

                  2nd test:
                  100ml : 4.3km : 4 turns : God mode : Mostly in 2-3 gears, top gear not used

                  3rd test:
                  100ml : 6km : 2.5 turns : Eco mode : Mostly in 4-5-6, rarely 2-3

                  4th test:
                  100ml : 6.1km : 2.5 turns : Eco mode : Mostly in 4-5-6, rarely 2-3

                  5th test
                  100ml : 6.4km : 2.5 turns : God mode : Mostly in 4-5-6, rarely 2-3

My observations from the above test is that the eco & god mode are just rpm indicators & does not make any difference to the fuel consumptions.
(Please note this is only my observations & other peoples may vary)

The inside of the petrol tank will look more like dull Aluminum color , dull not shiny...

Bro... I think its more than RPM indicator.. If you check your statistic again, its the same 100ml, 2.5 turns, mostly 4-5-6, rarely, 2-3; and how does God mode give 6.4Km and Eco mode gives 6.1Km ?? There were debates on this some few hundred pages back when some one [I dont remember who..] showed that the rpm for the same throttle position is different for different modes. Please correct me here if I'm wrong.

Airoli Sector 8 :- From Ghansholi to Airoli Bridge, you get a signal before Airoli junction. The left hand side of the road belongs to sector 8. On the turning only you can see Dominos Pizza shop and adidas showroom.

No issues will meet at Feb 6th Meet.

                              • Hello GSpians !!

I got mine(dark greenish blue) on 13th of this month. Done about 200+ kms so far. It cost me 73k in Bengaluru @ Saptagiri Auto Pvt Ltd. Nearly 1k for those affidavits(address etc) and smart-card Registration

I had to choose between Unicorn and GS; I went with GS only after few thoughts. Thanks to you fellas, you made it very easy
I had bought Access for my Dad 7 months back. I liked Access too much. Hence some inclination towards Suzuki.
I've less than 300 (yes, only three hundred) kms of exp in riding a geared bike. 220 kms on the current GS. 15-25 kms on a Honda Achiever to learn riding and to get my DL..

As you can guess, with less biking exp I stand unfit to comment on any of your posts. However, after reading this thread for quite a few days below are my observations:

                                1. Gear shifting Sound: It was kind a hard thing on the very first day(single digit reading on ODO); my friend couldn't help himself pointing it out. Now, I hardly notice the sound, but sometimes "CLANNKK" then I say to myself "It's not the Bull, it's me!!!" Reminding myself to practice and shift properly. Hope it will be much smoother after 1st service.

                                2. Gear Shifting RPM: I change it like Anup says around 4k or 4k+ RPM. I feel engine says to me around 4.5k RPM "Change the gear now, you Idiot!!" I also keep speed as a reference to downshift.. 1st(below 10); 2nd(below 18); 3rd(below 26)

                                3. Pillion Ride: A bit high I agree, however on the brighter side if the pillion is your better half then

                                4. Mileage: I'm not stressing on squeezing more for the moment. However, since I keep it below 5k RPM I think I'm getting 50 kmpl.

                                5. Tank Rusting: I've not observed the tank interiors yet will be watching it closely. Let me check if I got a Tin coated Tank

                                6. Starting Engine: I kickstart in the morning(8:30 AM) and evening(8:30 PM). What can I say, I enjoy kicking the Bull for a change. Only uses Electric starter when I'm in middle of the traffic and Engine goes off for some reason(of course there are many for a naive rider).
