Thanks for reply SirOriginally posted by psr View PostFirst of all a detailed study must be made before coming to a conclusion..At first it was the bore and Piston, now it seems to be the Con Rod,Cam,and bearing....
Both problems are related to the core of the engine....common reasons are:
1. Bike is run without adequate engine oil
2. Bike is ripped for long time ,leading to excessive heat and resulting oil degradation...leading to engine problem.
3. Poor oil circulation due to oil channels in engine blocked,or oil pump is unable to maintain adequate circulation pressure.
4. Poor choice of oil...wrong grade, or spurious make ,or recycled packaged oil.
5. Poor quality material used,to make engine parts.
Under the circumstances choosing 15W50 seems to be a better option as it's weight at high temperature is better than a 30 or 40 grade at higher temperature
.
1.)i always check my oil level regular
2
I am sane rider ..My longest drive is 60+60km that too in 5k range speed
3.) Yes its the point ..along with Suzuki jet cooling
(working consistent or occasional ..?
4.)other than SC oil i tried Gulf pride 4T plus 20w 40 and SC did 2wice MOBIL Super 4T 20w 40...So even i find after running 2500km i find viscosity still there..but i changed at every 2500km
5.) no idea about it...
I heard 15w 50 for pulsar and even in suzuki chats its can be used but due to its thickness our bike pullling is little tough(seen in our thread).....
Hope let me change the above CAM related and posted soon Sir

1 out of topic question I had 2 version of KB100 and KB125 ..which version u have now sir...
I am the only one(100percent) who buy KB100RTZ Delta 91 model for 20k 4000km on odo and sold it same 20k on 1994 55000km on odo...Great sale ...Last edited by akfara; 01-30-2011, 12:49 AM.ABDUL KHADAR

For our climate condition, amount of dust, and the stop and go driving it is better to switch to 20W50.This may reduce the initial acceleration, but gives a lot of protection in the long run.Originally posted by akfara View PostThanks for reply Sir

My KB100 is the initial make..bought in 1987 Feb.Then came RTZ,..and then came the Delta engine with Helmholtz resonator.
The KB125 is an all new engine with hard chrome coating on a Full Aluminum bore. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Thank you sir, you are elder than my Dad
. So your words mean a lot to me. You are a true biking enthusiast, sticking to a forum which won't provide any good to you.

Sorry to tell that “go to your room and study” is the common words used by parents or elders to students and usually repeated by the youngsters to mimic the elders or parents, secretly. As per the public profile, Sooraj is a B Tech student of civil engineering, and he is not having any bike.
I have a close blood relation of mine, studying in a well-reputed professional college, where the admission itself is a dream of many brilliant students all over India. Some of its students are from West Bengal, your native state. So, I have a clear picture about the professional courses and their syllabus and its hardness and how some of our students are crawling. They too come out with a degree tag after some semester lagging, unable to get a decent posting through campus recruitment or so, get dumped in some corner of the IT world. Some ones from core branches too are unable to get a job in the related field.
I am living in this world; in reality. I am not an alien from Mars or Jupiter or Neptune. I too have social contacts and social awareness. But our angle of view may be different. That is due to the difference in the realities we meat and in the difference in the way we judge them or analyze them. That is a different subject you cannot understand.
The doubt Sooraj expressed was about tank corrosion and he asked whether it is possible to paint inside the tank or use some anti-corrosion coating. Here is his question: “Is there any remedy for the rusting problem like painting the inside of the tank, or some kinda anti-corrosive coating that can be applied..? Anyone tried..?”
I didn’t answer that it is impossible. But I said that I do not think it is possible and further explained that this corrosion is common with every bike, regardless of its cost or engine power and explained why. You too can see this rusting in all brands of bikes including NINJA and CBR 1000 RR. CBR 1000 RR is his dream bike, as per his profile. I pointed out that this rusting is a common phenomenon in coastal area.
Now, Mach50, where is the scolding? Where is the humiliation? Which word in my writing is abusive? Which word in it is incorrect or misleading? Can you prove that the tank can be painted against rusting? Can you prove that the bikes I mentioned are rust proof in our coastal region? Can you prove that any other bike marketed in India is rust proof in this area?
As I told, I am living here in this world among common people. I have my own attitudes and opinions. You cannot understand it. But this you can understand: I am always with the common man; in that sense, here with the common GS owner who are trying to clarify their simple doubts and will continue it as far as I can.
That is why I am trying to not mislead others. That is not my business as some others do. Hope you understand me.Last edited by vishnukmd; 01-30-2011, 01:45 AM.

@vishnukmd: Your bike looks really like a showroom piece, no-one would believe its an year old, unless you show the documentsOriginally posted by vishnukmd View Post

Me too going to polish the bike after looking on the images of your bike......
and thank you guys(specially MACH50, kjsooraj and vishnukmd) for helping me out on the problem I reported earlier(wasn't using net that much these days so sort of got delayed in writing this one up), you guys were correct, there indeed was a problem in spark plug, so replaced it with the one that was available at the SC (I didn't found the Iridium one you guys were telling about in my city, i.e. Bhilwara), but the smell was coming from the burning of the oil, the oil was actually meant for 3000 kms, but I forgot to change it even after 4000km with all my rough driving so it was kinda burning up.....
and the reduction of power was due to some dust particles(actually bigger ones) that went into the petrol tank during the refilling of petrol someday....
This time SC mechanic practically opened every part of bike and cleaned it out since I reported many problems......
The mileage is still a mystery to me, sometimes I 35kmpl and sometimes 65kmpl these days, which for almost a month averaged out at 50kmpl with 1/4th of the distance covered at average speed of 55kmph in the city and remaining 3/4 is on highway between 80kmph to 100kmph....
Would like to know whats the actual reserver capacity of the fuel tank? (want to know how far I can go after hitting reserve).....

Truth expressed in simple words...Bravo Vishnu..as someone who helped final Year Engineering students(Electronics) from 1977 till a few years back, I have only empathy for the students....they get into the course with excitement in their eyes, but alas when they finish ,it is obvious that they have very few options, and fewer opportunity...and end up with a job very few have aptitude for.....Peer pressure and demands of society are the perennial Yokes on the youth .Originally posted by vishnukmd View PostSo, I have a clear picture about the professional courses and their syllabus and its hardness and how some of our students are crawling. Sorry for that, but you are not getting old but better
. I would have loved if you were my guide for entrance coaching. I was in an elite class (95+), but very few made it to IIT's & NIT's. Its not just stress that faded fire in our eyes but distraction.
BTW, I didn't understand the quote.Last edited by Anupdas; 01-30-2011, 11:12 AM.Well-trained reflexes are quicker than luck.........

The quote means that you are an Example for other youngsters to follow, and for the much older people ,you are a glass that reflected ,complimented and honored themOriginally posted by Anupdas View PostSorry for that, but you are not getting old but better

.
IIT or NIT may be an ordinary person's ambition....and those who want to follow the beaten path.....the truly innovative make their own path ,and I believe you are one of them.
With 95+ you don't need me or coaching.
..you need time out

.Read my Signature...it is still driving me.
