I know its asking too much, to see the projector and the mirror completely you need to take the photo from lower angle.

          • Need help!!!!!!

            Hii guys
hav been in this forum for the past 2 months (silent Observer) n it helped me a lot in making a purchase decision in favor of our beloved GS.... Well to cut the story short have purchased a 2011 GS150R in Grey colour in feb2011... have done 1720kms as of date n have changed the oil twice once at 700kms (free Service) and the second recently at 1500Kms next oil change is planned on 2500Kms..... i m running the bike in break in period n the mileage i m getting in city is around 53-55Kmpl (method used is Full tank to full tank).... now to come to the reason of my post....

I had very hard shifts when i procured the bike this was sorted out by the svc by oiling n rubbing the female part of the gear shifter with a sand paper (thus reducing friction between the mating parts) n then the gear shift were smooth.... but i m facing a unique problem from day one n i m unable to understand what could be the problem (for which i need u guys to help me out with) when i am accelerating hard on all the gears (which is occasionally... cant help it ) n when i reach the sixth gear n m pushing the bike then suddenly out of the blue the gear disengages n the gear indicator also shows nothing on the display.... as a precaution i immediatley apply the clucth to prevent the damage to the gear cogs n push the gear lever back to 6th gear and the bike is engaged in that gear again without much problem..... this has happened only on occasions 8 to 9 times mebbe till now where i m accelerating hard in all gears (ie 6-6.5K rpms hav never gone above that)

Have told the svc people bout this problem but i m unable to prove it or produce the problem in front of them (since it happens rarely) they have done the clucth setting twice but the problem persists.... would like to make a point here guys that i change the gears by depressing the clutch completely i dont upshift or downshift without the clucth so i dunno where the problem is.....

What i feel is that either the clutch setting is not proper or the clutch springs r the culprit that's my 2 cents

would like to know what u guys make out of this or is this normal.....

Here is the close up pic of the headlight, were you can see the mirror around the projector lamp...........It took almost two hours to cut that mirror according to the reflector and allign the projector in between.

I did fix the glass beacuase I was going to sourse the projector lamp from ranjith xbhp

But looked for a junkyar last saturday and found a skoda headlamp with two projector for 600 rs

than fixed the same projector with my lamp....

but it had some gap between the projector lamp reflector and the projector lamp glass...

which was looking a bit dull so came up with this idea and fixed it...

by the way guys there good HID projector kits with a direct fit to stock wiring came in pune

for 2500......Will try after some time on my karizma........
Hey..Bikelover,now this really proves that you really loves your bike. and of course yourself from safety prospective..

Could you please guid us with the procedure for fixing the "hid with the projector"...like step wise installation, price, brand

              Thanks in Advance,
              GS lover

I have experienced the same condition, the gear display going blank and the engine rpm suddenly shoots up . It only happens when we rev up the engine. You might have noticed that the gear shift from 5->6 needs a little more effort(this will reduce eventually). In your case when you engaged the last gear it was not engaged properly and it somehow came to a point between 5th and 6th.

I didnt get a proper reply from SV engineers. The solution I came up with was to use only toe shifter to make sure the gears are properly engaged. This never happened after third service or so after some 5K.

thx for the reply @anupdas i use toe shifting only from the time i learnt to ride bikes dont know how to shift using heels another point i would like to make @anupdas if the gear is not engaged properly then there should be grinding sound coming from the gear cogs since they r not meshing properly.... when i engage the bike in 6th gear n apply throttle the bike seems to be pulling properly in the 6th gear for 7-8 secs approx n then it disengages n the rpm shoots up..... just scared that i will spoil my babys innards thats all.....
well its gud to know i m not the one alone who is facing this problem but would like members to put more light on it.....

Our bike has constant mesh transmission, that means all the gears are meshed together all time, but will be free wheeling unless a gear is selected . When we select a gear we are actually engaging a "locker" which stops the freewheeling and make the shaft rotate which is connected to the primary sprocket. I think this collar is not locking properly but there wont be much damage to the transmission as you suspect.

From your explanation, I'm very sure that the same thing happened to me. But interestingly it suddenly disappeared after some time, so I suppose this only happen during the break in period.

Note: Here is an interesting link on How Transmission Works?

They said they will get stock of Gs150r only in April and it will be 2011 model. They said there wont be any change in 2011 model except manufacturing date, but they are not sure. Maybe new colors. If any changes are there, even they will know only after receiving the bike in April. Honda and yamaha are removing kicker from their new-model bikes. I hope Suzuki retain kicker.

Also, more importantly, showroom guy told me Suzuki will be launching a new 200cc model after 3 months priced above 1 lak. Now, that is good news, isnt it?
                        Hello Anthony
Which showroom did you go to?
I went to Apple Auto in BTM layout and made a booking for a GS in Feb 2011. They were willing to make delivery within 4 days. I eventually cancelled the booking. They wanted to deduct Rs 100 towards "file charges"; so I was quite upset with their attitude.

The GS seems to be a good bike, but there seem to be issues with the bike which I do not see with my (10-month old) Honda Twister. Dealership attitude doesn't help!

                          Due to dealership attitude we cant call it as problem with the bike {in a city like bangalore there are many dealers are there rite}

I was using GS for the past 14 months and failed to find the issue you found tonight, so dear friend do let me and other proud owners know on what is the issue you found on this bike and tell me one bike that doesn't have issue

My friends dad asked him to switch to bikes from car for local use as fuel price is roaring up
these are the issues pointed out by my sweet big fat friend, to keep using the car

Enfiend bullet avenger likes -- good but too much weight i cant hold it (he is close to 120 kg)
P220 ZMR --- good bike but mileage is less than 50
FZ, p180 apache 180 blahs --- good bikes but not comfortable like in cars yeah i can park them in narrow space
activa/ access like scooters --- good one wheels are small and it will skid not suitable for my look.
Apache and other 150 cc bikes --- good bike but no spare wheel if any thing like puncture happens i have to walk
at last 100cc's --- dad mileage is okay what about pickup and speed

Maybe if you had bought Unicorn or Dazzler you would have seen some.

150cc and above bikes are different from bikes which are known for fill it, shut it and forget it issue.

Different dealerships have different issues with their attitudes......which may or maynot be good for their business, but again it is not a manufacture or quality related issue.
