Another thought..did anyone find that in the rear view mirror you can see more of your arm than the vehicles at the back? if bike is new will the showroom people change it?

        Hi,

yeah it didn't just stop. Kinda gave me hints. but I was surprised and worried that there was fuel but it stopped. I thought that once the bar started to blink then it would be on reserve. what is the exact reserve limit?

clutch I will get it looked up. Lets hope for the best.

the default setting (what ever the mirror position set by dealer is not accurate you can adjust it according to your requirement with the help of either local mechanic or ASC (if ASC is close to your place)

in my GS it my arm covers only 20 to 25 % which is acceptable to my need

Reserve capacity is 3 ltrs Aprox

if the last bar blinking refers you have half the capacity of the reserve thats 1.5 ltrs Approx

Are you sure of this?? This means the bike has 18.5 ltr capacity?

The blinking is not constant. It blinks sometimes and then stops. Will confirm this today. Maybe because petrol keeps moving..
            Have replied in bold.

Another point. In my bro's Unicorn when there is 1 ltr petrol left if I open the cap and shake the bike I can see the fuel splash about. What quantity fuel is required in the GS tank to see the same??

Yeah, manual says 17 ltrs approx.

But once in a reliable shell petrol bunk I filled 20 ltrs where already close to 3 ltrs is there tank

It was experienced by many of our senior members, you can even ask akfara (abdul )

Once after it hits the reserve try to fill it till the brim you will come to know its real tank capacity.

The reason is all those bikes has components made by local OEM vendors, and the companies negotiate and give order to the lowest best quote
even honda compromised on quality just check out the Cbr thread or in and check the latest honda CBR250.... In a nearest showroom.

                              • I returned from a 1800kms Kerala kanyakumari trip today morning. About the GS150R (now approaching its second birthday), it performed wonderfully. No loose parts anywhere, it is fit as a rocket. Best part: About mileage. I calculated that totally I put 2000rs petrol, for all this trip. So the mileage, assuming average 62rs per liter cost for petrol, comes to be amazing 55! This with a pillion (wife), quite heavily packed saddlebags, tankbag and two handbags. The weight on the bike easily exceeded 130 KGs all the time!

For people complaining about mileage, take matters in your own hand and tune it yourself.

Another thing, for any night tourers, get HID. I traveled the Bodi-Munnar ghat at night, which wouldn't be so easy on stock headlight. I was blessing the HID (I call it 'portable sun' ) all the time.
