As Gs150r has front disc brake, I guess you meant front brake pads. For clutch overhaul, did you replace any parts? Did you get all these done by the showroom mechanics or outside mechanics?
Yes the bike has been trouble free. All my servicing has been done at Dr.Rajkumar Suzuki, Bangalore. I adhere to strict service schedules. Never missed any service. When in Warranty, i.e., for the first 30,000 KMS, the bike was serviced every 2,000 KMS. After the Warranty, i.e., after 30,000 KMS, I am servicing the bike at 3,500 KMS.

No, they did not change any parts. They removed the entire clutch unit, serviced it. Yes it is front disc brake pads @ 30,000 KMS. Costed Rs.250/-. However, the rear Brake Drum pads are expensive @ Rs.440/-

Also, Dr. Rajkumar Suzuki has introduced AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract). You have to pay initially Rs.1,000/-. You get four service coupons. Bike servicing cost (Rs.350/-) is waived Off. You also get 10% to 20 % Discount on Spares and other Labour Charges. Each Coupon is valid for 3,000 KMS.

Labour Charges - Front Suspension (25,000 KMS) and Clutch Overhaul - Rs.150/- (every 15,000 KMS), Chain Lubrication Rs.80 (every service).
Engine Oil Varies (Rs.200 - Rs.280) along with Engine Oil Additive @ Rs.150/-. Other things are Air & Oil Filter, Spark Plug. These are the charges incurred by me during my 44,500 KMS

        • This is my first post in Xbhp. Hi Atul, the Keychain and the ammeter are good.

I am also getting a GS this weekend. Like the current model than the new one which will be launched shortly with modifications and colors.

Thanks for all in making me choose this beast. As said by some, it is a SUV among bikes.

              Hi Vishu,

Sorry for the dumb question but in low beam, the top left most beam is not aligned with the right most beam right??
This is the case with my GS too and I was thinking of asking this in SVC.
But if this is the case with every GS then is there any special reason for this??

              @All
My second service is due in another 7 days
My odo reads 2800 and i did my first service at 800 kms.
So its time to change the oil but as per manual, oil change is mentioned during second service.
So is it advisable to keep the oil for 7 more says or should i replace right away and then ask them not to replace the oil while servicing?

The low beam is the same in every GS and is because of the shape of the reflector. This shape of the reflector is making all the headlight problems as it cannot be replaced with another one.

The second service and oil changing is due after running 2750-3000 kms after the first service or on the 90th day of purchase of the bike whichever is earlier.

Your bike has run only 2000 kms after changing the oil and need not be changed before the second service.

Afterwards, change it in every 2000-2500 kms as most of us do.

                • thanks Vishnu :-)

Also would it be possible for you to post the picture of the fuel screw of your GS.(I believe it is in factory defaults and I want to check whether thats the same in mine too)
I am asking this because of the low mileage I am getting.
I am currently getting ~46 kmpl (Full tank method) with max speed of around 70(only in highways).
I know my second service is due and I can hope for better figures later.
Just want to cross check with your settings since your's is the best average so far

If it is the air/fuel mixture screw, you cannot understand how it is tuned from its picture.

There is only one settings or tuning of the carburetor to get the best mileage and it is the factory settings. Trying to retune it is utter nonsense though some are doing it even without the help of a reliable tachometer, by counting the number of turns or something like it.

Thanks for the quick response and the suggestion.

I am not at all trying to tune my carb setting...And if i ever intend to do, i will let the experienced SVC to cat on it
As for as my driving skills, I am a sane driver( and i know that sane driving is not the only contributor to better millage but a major player) i was surprised to see such figures where as others are claiming 55+ ?
Lets see what will happen after the second service..

                          • Weight of GS

Compare the GS150R weight with any other 150cc class commuter bikes

                            * The weight diffrence between other 150cc bikes and GS is max 8 kgs

                            * Ducati monster is litter class sport bike where as GS150R is commuter bike

In indian commuter language "more the weight attributes more to stability, comfort and control at high speed

                                So what.......???

Suzuki's own GSXR 750 weighs 163 kgs and puts down 150Hp.

Ducati's Monster 1100 EVO makes around only 100Hp despite being heavier at 169kgs and with a more cc engine.

Thing is............we are talking about bikes which are separated by lakhs of rupees.

Given the size of the fuel tank that the GS150R enjoys the weight is justified.
and it is only 3 kgs heavier than the Honda CB Unicorn.

Just giving it more power in stock form is something which is needed with a slight tweak to reduce weight.
