    1) was very much sad to hear that choke was always engaged while riding all these days due to faulty fitting of the carburator from the suzu factory which had led to very low mileage and high idle rpm.
now bit more worried abt the damages to the engine components.

    2) My visor was damaged at the time of delivery itself, dealer promised to get them replaced soon , a month passed yet to receive them. even salesperson are reluctant and avoiding it. Soluld i complain in suzu website?

3)SVC convinced me not to change the oil filter and engine oil.

SVC guys were friendly and rectified all the problems

so u did not change oil at the first free service ?
dude if it was an factory problem & if it is affecting mileage i think you should ask replacement for damaged pieces!
completed 1500 kms yesterday its been 2 months & 7 days since then i know the riding is very less but will do whenever i find time but will this ( kms not ending before due date mentioned on manual/under riding )have any effect on the mileage or any other problems?

my riding so far for 1500 kms has been in the range of 60kmph , max has been 66-67kmph @ 4.8 k rpm. so i hope it ok to expect a mileage of around or above 60 kmpl ?
the workshop manager told me to check mileage after 2500kms why so ? spark plug issue solved again no problem till now i hope never again i cant live without my babe ! he said the something resistor of spark plug cap got out because of water, i asked him but it is so hot there but he tried to divert the topic. i don't understand such behavior if the problem is solved then why are they not telling me the problem he says the engineer who solved the problem does not tell what he has done to these people they just do their work !!

    • Hello Friends
Just now i have attached an Ammeter(AMPS 8 0 -8A) to my GS and made some tests.

      Here is the results:
      1. Below picture show the charging current while in Ideal RPM

2.Current Drain using HID(high beam) and engine is in ideal RPM

      3. Current Drain using Halogen(low beam) with engine running in Ideal RPM

      4. Meter specification and Details

So Guys what do you think?

      Sorry for the poor images

No nothing is misfortune or luck. Just cross check that LED's have a proper current limiting resistor(a very must one) and also just connect the LED to DC and check if there any heat is producing and it increase with respect to time then you have increase the value of the current limiting resistor

I have to wait up to Monday to buy new LEDs. I have decided to replace the pilot bulbs and will do it; no doubt.

No. I was planning to convert it to full DC for the past few months but it is still in the same planning stage. Rewound the coil and did nothing else.

That is because the battery is charged during your daytime ride without headlight, position lights and tail lamps which alone is a load of more than 50 watts.

Definitely the stock coil is not enough to use HID. As you have already replaced the RR, why cannot try to rewind the coil with 20 or 19 swg wire?

I don’t know the rating of FZ’s RR but none has used it to convert the bike to full DC. Almost all are using Ape’s RR and it seems to be better as Mach50 said.

It is difficult to get it re-winded by others as most of the auto electricians and others do coil re-winding are not ready to re-wind stator coil.

Replace the headlight bulb with Osram Night Breaker and connect the pilot lamps to the battery and use the same bulbs or LEDs.

Sir, the main culprit was the choke valve in the carburator, which opens when the choke s engaged from the controls . ll surely check in coming days .
2)In future, make sure that the choke is properly disengaged before you start your ride.
any idea on where the choke cable connects at carburator?
3)Approach the workshop manager or engineer for visor replacement. The mechanics cannot replace anything without his consent.
4)Most of the GS owners are changing the oil between 750-1000 kms.
I spoke to the salesperson who promised at the time of delivery but now he s avoiding it by saying " no stocks " even after a month . ll complain in suzu website after a week or so

Will the suzuki mechanic be of any help in this matter.

Also i have noticed that when i decelerate the bike gives a small jerk. It applies to any gear.

                          Sir,
Go to the spare parts section in the workshop and ask for a headlight visor. If it is available there, approach the sales/workshop manager (preferably sales manager in this case) and ask to replace the visor pointing out that the replacement was promised and it is in stock. The salesman/girl has no role in it.

The choke does not operate itself in our bike. Someone has purposively engaged it by pulling the lever. Instead of knowing how it is connected to the carburetor, ensure that it is disengaged before you start the ride as I suspect someone is playing on your bike.

Probably not because the mechanics in the service center of any bike are not allowed to make any modifications or alterations on it while they are in the workshop.

Any auto-electrician or local mechanic can do it easily. Buy 4 visor nuts from the service centre and replace the stock ones when you open the headlight assembly and remember that the improper tightening of these nuts causes vibration.

                          If not problematic, ignore it.

                          • Changed my Rear Tyre @ 44,500 KMS. Costed Rs.2,150/- MRF Zapper Q.
Planning to change front tyre next month. The front plastic piece (that surrounds the headlight) and the front mudguard broken, needs replacement.

For 44,500 KMS, I replaced the following:

Rear Brake Shoe and Chain @ 28,000 KMS
Front Brake Shoes @ 30,000 KMS
                            Rear Tyre At 44,500 KMS.
Front Suspension Overhaul @ 25,000 KMS
Clutch Overhaul @ every, 15,000 KMS

Other than these, Engine Oil every 2,000 KMS (after Warranty Period @ 3,500 KMS), No other problem (touch wood).

I am only unhappy with the rear brake. Not inspiring at high speeds.

Hope so, Suzuki will upgraded the GS 150 with Rear Disc Brake, DC Electricals with option of ABS (dreaming). With these GS 150 would be the best bike in 150 CC Class. Let's see what the upcoming Pulsars will have.

Wow, for 44,500 kms, I would say that is absolutely neglegible maintainence cost.

As Gs150r has front disc brake, I guess you meant front brake pads. For clutch overhaul, did you replace any parts? Did you get all these done by the showroom mechanics or outside mechanics?

As for rear brake, see if you can fit the pulsar rear brake lever (that fits on rear drum) on the gs150r rear drum. That lever of pulsar is longer, will give more leverage and hence give you more powerful rear brakes. But be careful, if its too powerful, it could lead to rear wheel skidding also.

Regarding new Gs150r, many of us wish for goodies like rear disc brake and slightly lesser weight, but for now new gs150r seems to be just rumors. If suzuki have any such plans, i guess they would have launched it by now.
