It was me, who had asked it. They look great man. Thanks for the pic. Also please post a pic with your headlight on. I tried my luck in finding them here. I could only find four small LED's soldered together and fit into a socket like thing. That did't look great to me. And the gerat 'Bablu Motors'(a very famous spare parts shop in NaviMumbai that I learnt is also famous for fooling customers) charged me 80bucks for it and it just went off in an hour. I need to find the genuine 12V white LEDs. Blue ones are easily available though.

@ Baala and others: The fine for parking in a no parking area is only Rs. 100. Towing charges for a two wheeler is another Rs.100. So total Rs.200 if your two wheeler is towed away and you get it released from the police chowki. But if you are present near the bike then you can pay only Rs.100 as fine for parking in a no parking area. We should fight for it if they dont budge. I think if all bikers start retaliating back soon this kind of nonsense will have some relief.

    • Helmet lock in GS150R?

I always ride with a helmet, i am looking for an appropriate helmet lock positioning in this bike, till then i am making use of the lock mechanism provided below the seat, but its a cumbersome process.

I use a cycle cable lock.. tie the helmet to grab rail or saree guard...

If u want the normal helmet locks, then the saree guard and crash guard are good options..

Thank God that didn't happen.... I swear I would have ended up in either a Hospital or worse in Jail for hitting a cop ..... Ya!!! I am definitely feeling lucky.....

@Baala: really sad to hear that bro.. These traffic cops are useless..
Even i hate these traffic cops after i was fined as no entry for coming to the right side of a temporary divider at mayo hall signal few weeks ago..

I was even considering damaging some parked police pulsar to get back at them but my dad said just let it go.
I seriously know how you would have felt...... His bloody face, the way he was sitting, his arrogance....he was talking to me as if he caught me goofing (read as whatever you want to!!!!) with his daughter....

Anyways as you guys say, whats happened has happnd... I will never allow that to happen again....

As thefalcon says, use cycle lock. I am using that since many years. It holds 2 or even 3 helmets if required, and is easily transferable within bikes. in around 100 bucks, you are good to go!

              • I found some white powder under the battery and on the battery holding clamp. On the last service they had replaced the clamp because it was corroded by the acid. when I asked the SC guys, is it because my battery is leaking, they said 'no, it must be overflow while filling it and that the battery does't leak.' But today I again found the white powder around battery. It was not there before. So I assume my battery is leaking. Is there anything I can do about it?? Good thing that the new GS comes with maintainace free batteries. Do I have to replace my batteries to prevent damage to the bike??

Same problem with my bike too.. during 3rd service there was lot of powder over battery, i told them to change it under warranty but they just said "we'll check it till next service, if it continues then we'll change it"
And next service there want much powder, just a little on the clamp, they only cleaned it and still havent even changed the rusting clamp still.

I've been having battery problems right from the start actually, these cheap SC people just keep charging it every service and charge me 15 bucks for it, because they agreed to replace it, if it dies again.. guess they are trying to make me use this battery till the warranty gets over, so i'll have to pay for replacement

                  • battery warranty replacement

                    Hi,
Kindly note whom ever manufactured the bike (yamaha, suzuki, honda, Hero Honda, bajaj or tvs)they doesn't manufactured the battery Hence requesting you to contact the nearest dealer of the battery manufacturer (if its exide contact exide dealer)Long back I was in the similar situation where exide dealer replaced the battery

                    Even in GS150R manual book they have a separate warranty leaflet (page) for battery warranty {its a separate warranty}

Earlier I saw a video clip on the thread showing GS150R is going at 130 kmph speed; yesterday I shown the same to the engineer at Suzuki dealer he laugh at me and he took me inside the servicing room showed me a GS150R started the vehicle went to top gear and on full throttle and the speed was amazing 145 kmph.

But their was no heavy breeze hitting our face and still we are in the same service room yes its on center stand the front wheel is on ground and back wheel is rotating on air (not grounded) GS150R speed reeding is not directly attached to the front wheel but indirectly it reeds out from the movement of the back wheel

                      Hi guys,
just wanted to check about the free service bill amount you guys got.
                      1st services i got somthing around ~380
                      2nd services ~280

Today i gave them my vehicle for some chocking problem to be fixed.
SC guy estimated ~75 bucks for carbuerator overhaul which was not done in the
                      second service. Any comments?

@MSN1 (madhu) : i have asked them to fix the clutch too.

Slowly but steadily GS club is growing.

Sometimes it really embarasses you when people keep staring at your bike in signals, especially when the pillion rider (in a vehice ahead) turns their head and look.

I am certainly loving my ride with GS.
You can see my bike in the same route to my office... Raj will be there in bike number plate. Orange color bike. i removed my rear mud guard attachement. it will have some bare look . you can easily spot

After that I went to fill in petrol today morning, and filled 200 Rs worth of Petrol, while I was about to close the lid, I saw that dreaded sight everyone was talking about.....Rust.

I was speechless for a moment, took the bike to a shade opened the tank and stared at it for a good 2 minutes, about 60 % of the fuel lid (mouth tunnel) was rusted and this is a 2 weeks old baby.

I thought and believed Suzuki have fixed this issue for 2010 bikes. But why Suzuki Why....

And moreover the squeaking sound came back again. I was nothing short of being furious. Started the bike headed straight to Jains Suzuki.

I showed the rust to Mr.Pandian, he didn't seem too surprised (but was pretty apologetic), and called to one Mr.Mohan (I think the service head), he was a good and polite gentleman. He inspected it and told, we will replace it sir don't worry.

I heaved a sigh of relief and complained about the squeaking sound from suspension, he sat in the bike and jumped up and down, the sound was clearly audible, he told it is coming from the Swing arm bolt, and it will be fixed. He seemed to have good knowledge about the bike and was talking with me regarding other aspects of it.

Then he asked how much fuel is there in tank, I told about 7 litres, he then asked them to get a can and remove the fuel from the tank. Then asked me to wait for sometime in the waiting room, their service and care was very good.

They first fixed the squeaking sound issue.
Then after sometime Mr.Mohan came back and told that the available tanks has the same issue , and he will let me know when newer tanks, without this issue, arrives.

He told not to worry about it and they will surely replace the tank once the replacement comes. He also told, not every bike has this issue, but few still have it, but they will surely replace it.

The service guys were really good, and I almost forgot the anger against Suzuki because of them.

I thanked them and left. But I really hope Suzuki to recall their bikes and replace the tanks, as this will put an end to this issue once and for all.

good to know. i also took at the same point of time from ABT. Sorry i quoted old messages. i tried to read all posts but no time and not able to.

Going for oil change as i rode 2000kms after they changed in first service.

Planning to use Shell advance S 4T or Shell Advance Fast Trac 4T both are mineral based oils only... and im gonna stick with 20w40. this good to go ?

Just want to share i rode my bike till it reached three figures. could nt go after that also there was no throttle left. yes i squeezed fully. May be it need time to go in 100+ figures. Bike was lil shaky when i reached 100. not much though
