This thing got delivered yesterday.rode nearly 90 kms in two days it wasnt all that impressive like the test rides !
The first ride well it was by the bike delivery guy as her rode it from kalyan to Thane (MUMBAI). half of my excitement died there itself ! Anywho the next few kilometers were really good shifting from Discover to gs150 felt nice gave me a big bike feeling. the engine was very smooth too. But today i got a lot of problems ... the gears have become so hard i had to stap on it hard to get it on nutral :O .... twice during the signals the gears just wont come down from 2nd to first ..if it came on first i had to try nearly 15 times to get it to neutral. I had high expectations from the Transmission of this bike as the bike i had a test drive on was so smoth i hardly realized when i changed the gears. That is not it a while ago i took my dad for a ride to show him the problem ..and two more problems came up.say you pick up 30kmph on 2nd and shift it to the 1st(which is a pain for me) there are no vibrations in the engine but there is a lil bit of ratteling sound sound inside the engine felt very unstable it kind of jerked a little ..and mind you i hadnt left the clutch after shifting the gear ....and if i do the same thing from 3rd to 2nd the chain goes like zip zap zoom and loud knocking sound everywhere

!! never been this sad in my life ...is it possible that the delivery guy might have revved the bike while getting it to me ! Coz he came via the highway :S .
I still havent got the papers and insurance etc even the manual is pending My dealer will get it after 4 days. Can i go the the service station in THANE instead of KALYAN and abuse a few people ?? or do i have to live with all these problems till the first service ..coz that would be impossible .. i will get stuck every where as i ride more in the city ..
Please help Guys ...has any of you faced such problems ?
Hey guys thanks for your replies ..actually the problem was quite a small one ..the clutch was very loose indeed ....the chain was loose which was fixed ... now everything is soo good ..only the pick up on the 3rd and 4th gear could have been better.no complaints other than that ...
some positives which i experienced in the past couple of days ...
this bike knows how to turn peoples heads :P. everyday since the past 4 days people have asked me avarage kitna milta hai ... smooth ahi kya? price kya hai ..looks killer ek round doge kya? :P . i love all the attention i am getteng . other than that ... i was experimenting a little and found out that the bike runs @35kmph on the 6th gear with no or very little vibration ...at that speed a pulsar or any other bike would have coughed and came to a hault .. i just loved that factor ..and i got my tyre changed to a 4 inch wide dunlop .. the grip i am getting is perfect turning is fun all of a sudden. The tail light is mind blowing indeed.
just one query though i had put 15 litres of petrol(speed) and i have run 200kms(odo) and the feul indicator shows just three bars ...so am i getting an average of just 40 :O ... iahvent taken it above 5rpm or above 60.still why so less ... i drive on eco mode most of the time!
some one please tell me! begining to worry regaurding the average!

Running below 60 @ 4500 rpm. The eco mode and power modes just give indication, there is no difference in the fuel mapping so nothing is different other than their notifications. Im running mostly on highways though. These are some tips provided by xBHP members
1. On cold start always use kick start with choke.
2. Keep the engine idle for a min will give adequate lubrication to engine
3. Always ride on correct gear
4. Dont use clutch other than to shift.
How did you calculate mileage? I filled petrol after reserve then set a trip A and checked the reading after next reserve. There was another tip to increase the tire pressure by 10% to increase the efficiency. May i ask you one question did you change the only tire? Dont we need to change the sprocket and chain to cope up with non stock tire?Last edited by Anupdas; 01-17-2010, 12:07 PM.Well-trained reflexes are quicker than luck.........

The same goes for me, im 5 7" the bike feels so heavy on standstill. When both feet on ground only my toe touches ground and it so happened that several times i almost slipped. After that i only keep one feet down and it too is uncomfortable when there is a pillion.Well-trained reflexes are quicker than luck.........

Do i need to change the sproket and the chain too
..because i just shfted from mrf to dunlop as the compound was softer and a little thick...why would i need to change the sproket for that :O ! i did not do anything with my rims !

That was a misunderstanding, i thought you shifted to a non stock tyre with more rubber on road than the former. Im not sure but i have read it somewhere that when we change ito non stock tyre one needs to change the sprocket and chain. Im just a newbie lets wait for GURU's to answer this one.Originally posted by Anand_Metallica View PostDo i need to change the sproket and the chain too

I have only done 450 km so far. I refill the fuel just as it becomes zero say 100 rs and set a trip meter. And note the the value at which the next reserve occurs. It will give a comparitively accurate value for you must refuel pretty soon after reserve.Originally posted by speed deamon View Postguys how u people r measuring the mileage, i am getting wrong reserves most of the time is it normal ir shud i check up with service center guys done 4900kmWell-trained reflexes are quicker than luck.........

Sincerely appreciate the concern and respect you all have shown, yes it was tough for all of us but as I said earlier, how so ever huge the loss is, life still has to move and you have to live with it.Anupdas, imjoshee, dcs, sarbanoxley, sanjukoli12
Anyway, back to the topic, I think I forgot to mention about the milage, I am glad to menton I still am getting 50-55, its very rare I get below 50, that is only when I drive too aggressively, else it has always been above 50.
That is very strange, infact seems impossible, I remember when I was driving the first 500KM below 60, I was at all times getting above 60 avg, infact I even got an avg 70+ couple of times, and I updated the thread as well. I think you are measuring it incorrectly, dont use ODO to measure, use Trip 2. Fill up the tank, then the moment you hit reserve, reset the trip to zero and refule the bike with a leter of gas immidiately. Note the trip The next time you hit reserve and that should give you a fair bit idea about the milage +-1,2 KMs.Originally posted by Anand_Metallica View Postjust one query though i had put 15 litres of petrol(speed) and i have run 200kms(odo) and the feul indicator shows just three bars ...so am i getting an average of just 40 :O ... iahvent taken it above 5rpm or above 60.still why so less ... i drive on eco mode most of the time!

Now I am a Proud owner of GS150R
Dear Friends,
After reading this thread and reviews from other sites, I finally purchased Suzuki gs150r on 16th jan 2010 from IBAY Motors Kukatpally,Hyderabad. The On Road price is 67K with free accessories and registration.
So far I am completely satisfied with the bike's performance, comfortable and looks. Still I have to find out the mileage.
I selected the Metallic Grey color. It looks beautiful in sunlight and evening as well.
The negative so far:
1. Shifting from second gear to neutral is not smooth. Is it normal for a new bike ?
2. Burning smell is coming from engine after riding 15-20 Kms. Is it normal for a new bike ?
I need some valuable comments...
Thank you.~~ Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bike ride ~~

Welcome to xBhp! Both the things mentioned by you are normal. Please follow the run-in instructions carefully&by the time your engine parts are well set, with the subsequent oil change, all should be fine.Originally posted by seklax View PostDear Friends,
