well I am glad that you sorted out the problem. This could have led to a very serious problem. I can't believe how careless the dealers are sometimes . well enjoy ur ride and keep in touch.....

If it was not you i could have ended in a big trouble. My registration was on 4th i waited till 8th still no updates from RTO. I called dealer and they said the no. Now that i have done imprinting , need to change the number plate . I heard a rumour that its illegal to write the reg no using sticker, we have to use imprinting ?

      • Tyre trouble

Guys, are you facing trouble with the grip of the rear tyre on wet surface. By wet surface i mean village road drenched in water not the black tarmac. Could you please recommend a tyre with good grip on wet surface. Thanks. Raj.

          Hi Anup,

I don't think that it's illegal to use sticker for Reg no. I have seen most of the people opting for the stickers. Maybe because the imprinting costs around 750/- while you can get the stickers for 45/- to 250/- depending on the design. My plate is a sticker thats looks exactly like an imprint with a reflective white background. It cost me 250/-. Recently I went to a sticker cutting shop and found many new bikes waiting for their Reg no stickers. Anyway I hope that its still a rumour.

Thanks bro. Anyway i'm going to do an imprint. It only cost 250 here and 60/- for sticker. I think the windshield is very susceptible to scratches and planning to sticker a cool film to it.

Car window film doesn't stick onto the visor, I've tried it on my R15's visor&it wouldn't even come off, we had to scratch it out&ended up spoiling the visor in the process. Luckily it costed only Rs.125, so I got it replaced.

Is that so , then i wont be doin it. The visor has a cool brown tint and while riding in day light prevents the reflection from the crome lining of the tacho. If thats cheap then better replace after some time. Thanks for the tip bro .

You are welcome, but I was talking about my bike which is R15. I don't know how much the visor for the FZ-S costs. Should be about the same price, or even lesser, considering it is much smaller.

                    • Mine is GS. I think the plastic fairing is pretty big for the bike, as i rode mostly on the bumpy village road it is vibrating like crazy. After a year or so i plan to change to a simple fairing like FZ with projector like p220. Night riding is really tough

Sorry buddy-bad effect of being in too many threads at once!
Yeah GS visor will be a bit more expensive I think.
If it is vibrating even after tightening the nuts what you can try is double side tape on the behind.
Don't use the white ones that you get at General Stores-that goes off in a few days/wash, use the black one that they have in automotive shops-it stays.

Can you be a little more specific. Where to attach the double sided tapes? I think im a little meticulous since i got bike after a full 5 year of pleading to my parents.

                          • Let me say my own idea on how to remove the vibration of digital console.
                            1. Cant tighten the nuts since if too tight may break it
                            2. The other method is to introduce some kind of rubber like material in the space between the v notch ( space between the notch in the digital console and the key hole) , it must allow the unit to vibrate but only little. If it is too tight the console will keep on vibrating for ever .

I have a better idea. Why don't you try going to the SVC. If you tamper with the nuts and bolts, I think thats a reason for the svc guys to put the reason for any errors on your tampering.

I thought the visor was vibrating? If yes, then at the points where it connects to the dome, from the place you see it in the pic.
If it is the console, your idea is good, but instead of a rubber damper, use the double side tape, thats all!
