I get around 45 after service, but after riding for around 200km after service, it seems to come back to 50s anyway.
If they are doing knowing what they are doing, its ok. I was about to ask them not to set for a rich mixture but towards leaner side. I have read somewhere than leaner mixture causes engine overheating. I have a tendency to open the throttle if its responding

    • Finally i got a Black GS150R

      Hi Friends,

After some great confusion, finally i have decided to go with GS.
On 25th i have booked it and evening i got the bike delivery. Now waiting for the number.

I think the pro and cons are already known. Even i to have the same. So nothing much difference in that.

Majorly i was driving my friends Karizma and R15 so i cant compare GS with that. Pick up wise it is quite low, but im happy with it. Then my drive is always in city. that 2 in this Bangalore it is very worst traffic. Today i ride it for 20KM, in that almost most of the time i was riding under 10KMPH in 2nd gear bcos of this traffic. So i dont think i will get a great mileage. Only 3 time i have ripped bike to 50KMPH speed. More pro n cons i will discuss later after riding atleast 250KM on odo.

Then one more thing while leaving my home the bike was black in colour. But after reaching office the bike was Brown .

Congrats on your new purchase! Yes, the black color tends to get dirty very soon in all vehicles. Take it easy, don't wipe it with a dry cloth or the mud will leave scratches on the paint. I wipe my bike with a soft wet cloth once a week&then wipe it with a soft dry cloth to make it shine. In a couple of hours its dusty again, but nothing can be done about that!

If its around 3500 rpm don't worry just rev over it in lower gear past it and the sound will be gone. Its engine's resonance rpm and every engine is said to have a resonance rpm. Mine has completed 850 km by now and today i went for a trip of around 150 k. Initially the bike was feeling ok but after some a half hour driving engine developed some king of rattling sound very fine though mainly when downshift after braking. I was kind of worried over it. Then i reached my destination and after two hour engine was back to normal. I think the sounds are mostly because its through its running in phase. This engine may have a longer running in than other bikes like honda and pulsar.

About suspension setting, those who are riding the bike in higher speeds tend to adjust it towards the stiffer side for better control. If you are riding in good roads stiff setting will be good and if you are riding in lower speeds at typical indian roads go for softer setting it will give pillion much comfortable ride. Currently i have adjusted it to level 2 since i always ride my mom as pillion.
You are right, the vibration/rattling sound comes in any gear at 3500 RPM.
                Thank you for your clarification.

                • a new problem

Since yesterday, I found a new problem with by GS. The engine RPM is increasing while riding when I press the clutch fully. This happens in all gear.

Even in neutral gear (0 gear), the RPM increases while pressing the clutch.

Should I show my bike to SVC guys again or this is normal. It's very irritating as on 50% clutch there is no increase in RPM, but when I press the clutch fully the RPM increases and engine roars.

Check your choke. You must have accidentally left it in on position.

It happened to me too.The choke was accidentally left in on position by someone and the rpm used to directly move from 2k to 4k RPM in nay gear.
                      Pls check your choke.

I too had the smae problem once. But then when i turned the knob position from on to reserve and then kicked it started.I was suprised since my fuel indicator was on the last stand and in the manual it is mentioned when the bike has little fuel it will blink.

So please turn the knob and see.

But i didnt get the logic. Bcos i had nearly 4 liter of petrol. So what is the use of turning the knob to reserve position.

Only if petrol is less then 1.5 liter the fuel indicator will blink right.

Any how tomorrow i will check this out.

You're welcome. This problem is bound to occur when there is no autoretracting choke. Or, they must have a warning indicator in the digital console. Hope future version of GSR will have that and also a side-stand warning.
Guys, it looks like every one is having problem with FE calculation and GSR is returning erratic figures every time. There is some problem with R to R method in GSR. Do not use that method. The point at which the the fuel level falls to reserve (actually, the point at which the engine starts stalling!) varies. Once I filled 2 litres (over and above reserve) and the reserve came after 180 km! The next time I filled it came at 89 km!! Can you believe that! I guess that humongous fuel tank hides a moody reserve indicator!
