Even my freinds were against my purchase of GS. But I went ahead after reading all the reviews (most of them from XBHP...) and then taking a test drive, and Iam happy that I made a wise decision. This bike has never let me down. Dont worry U have made a wise decision too... just take care of your ride and it will take care of you.

Very Dissapointed !
Hey guys i bought this bike after reading nearly 150 reviews ... read almost all the posts here in this thread ...and after 3 test rides with this bike and two with avenger i decided to go with this beautiful beast ! it had clean masculine cuts ..amazing fairing with the wolf eyed lamps thingyy and the huge tank and the brilliantly designed tail lamps ..not to forget swet sounding engine and one of the best transmissions i have ever seen. This thing got delivered yesterday.rode nearly 90 kms in two days it wasnt all that impressive like the test rides !
The first ride well it was by the bike delivery guy as her rode it from kalyan to Thane (MUMBAI). half of my excitement died there itself ! Anywho the next few kilometers were really good shifting from Discover to gs150 felt nice gave me a big bike feeling. the engine was very smooth too. But today i got a lot of problems ... the gears have become so hard i had to stap on it hard to get it on nutral :O .... twice during the signals the gears just wont come down from 2nd to first ..if it came on first i had to try nearly 15 times to get it to neutral. I had high expectations from the Transmission of this bike as the bike i had a test drive on was so smoth i hardly realized when i changed the gears. That is not it a while ago i took my dad for a ride to show him the problem ..and two more problems came up.say you pick up 30kmph on 2nd and shift it to the 1st(which is a pain for me) there are no vibrations in the engine but there is a lil bit of ratteling sound sound inside the engine felt very unstable it kind of jerked a little ..and mind you i hadnt left the clutch after shifting the gear ....and if i do the same thing from 3rd to 2nd the chain goes like zip zap zoom and loud knocking sound everywhere

!! never been this sad in my life ...is it possible that the delivery guy might have revved the bike while getting it to me ! Coz he came via the highway :S .
I still havent got the papers and insurance etc even the manual is pending My dealer will get it after 4 days. Can i go the the service station in THANE instead of KALYAN and abuse a few people ?? or do i have to live with all these problems till the first service ..coz that would be impossible .. i will get stuck every where as i ride more in the city ..
Please help Guys ...has any of you faced such problems ?

Hi Anand,
First of all You shouldn't have let the delivery guy bring you your ride. You should have gone to the showroom to get it yourself. Iam pretty sure that the delivery guy would've ripped your ride all the way on the highway. The bike has to be ridden carefully during the break in period, else U won't get what is expected from this bike and that applies to any bike. GS is no doubt a wonderful machine and you have to take care of it from day 1 to be happy with it. Now First thing you have to do is take your ride to the service center and tell them about your problems and hopefully they will take care of it. Suzuki customer service is usually pretty good. Hope your problems are resolved ASAP... Good Luck...::<<Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly>>::.

Thanks man, earlier when i was goin trough this thread i saw lot of post regarding tanks getting rusted. Do you have any idea what they meant by that?Originally posted by spacetech View PostEven my freinds were against my purchase of GS. Hiii Anand, I just bought GS a week ago. I didnt fully get what your problem is while downshifting. As far as i know if you want to get the bike to neutral push the bike a lil to front or back while you try to engage to neutral. As per many of my friend suggest while downshifting instead of leaving throttle closed fully rev it a little say 2.5 to 3K range, othewise you will knock the engine. And also try not to pick the bike using clutch, instead downshift and ride in proper speed. I think this will help you a bit.Originally posted by Anand_Metallica View PostHey guys i bought this bike after reading nearly 150 reviews ... read almost all the posts here in this thread ...and after 3 test rides with this bike and two with avenger i decided to go with this beautiful beast ! it had clean masculine cuts ..amazing fairing with the wolf eyed lamps thingyy and the huge tank and the brilliantly designed tail lamps ..not to forget swet sounding engine and one of the best transmissions i have ever seen. Dude the thing is after i down shift the engine and the chain makes a sound the sound persists as the speed drops when i am holding the clutch. if i let go of the clutch and drive there is no sound or anything !Originally posted by Anupdas View PostHiii Anand, I just bought GS a week ago. and as far as the gears are concerned its too hard i had to stamp on it hard like 4-5 times to shift it from2nd to 1st...finding neutral is a big achievement at the moment
,and the revving thing yes i am following it ..if i dont rev the engine before shifting i think the gears wont shift at all ! ! is it a serious problem ...should i consider for a replacement as the bike is just a day old and no registration has been done yet!

I think its better to consult to your service centre. I have read most of this thread never saw a complaint like this. I use toe to shift from first to second and then use heel for the rest. If I ever try to shift soft it will go to neutral and it goes to neutral if i shift soft from second to first. So i use some force so that it wont go to neutral. Shifting as a general is very smooth. I think you should not waste time and consult service cetre at the earliestOriginally posted by Anand_Metallica View PostDude the thing is after i down shift the engine and the chain makes a sound the sound persists as the speed drops when i am holding the clutch. if i let go of the clutch and drive there is no sound or anything !

wow...this thread has grown like a Plague!...lol Incase people dont know I am the thread owner.....Thought to update a few things as I have completed 14000KM on the bike.
1. the 3500 Vibs still there.
2. 5,6 Services completed and NO absolute no complains what so ever, infact the service people ring me personally when the time for service comes (they do it every customer)
3. Ride smoothness, comfort, gear shift is as smooth as it initially was.
4. No part(electrical, mechanical) failing. Not even clutch wire. i,e no maintained cost uptill now
5. No Tank rusting (for me atleast)
6. Brake shoe had to be changed
7. No dimness or any artifact in the Console Backlit (this happenes a lot in pulers)
Apart from this, not even a single issue (how so ever small) faced till now.
Any other specific questions people down here wanna ask that comes to their mind after completion of 14000KM.....I am all ears.....
good to see people enjoying this bike......
Cheers..

^^better to stay with her bro.
I hate to sound like the voice of doom but the showroom guy must have taken the bike for a spin when he had it delivered.
Just imagine. a brand new 150cc with 6 gears on a open highway. that too if it's not his bike why Would he care.
Edit: Congrats Sam. yes admit that this thread has gone a long way since you started it. Looks like you've created a domino effect for suzuki through the web. Send suzuki a link to this thread and demand some margin :P

I just bought one last week, already done some 400 km with it. Can you commend on when to shift the gears. My friends said me to ride in a constant speed but here on xBHP everyone is saying to ride in variable engine speed to prevent heating. Which is the best practice. Once you mentioned about having to kick 4-5 times on cold start, is it ok now.Well-trained reflexes are quicker than luck.........

NEVER ride on a constant speed in running in. Keep the RPM varying at 3.5-4-4.5. Shift a gear up when RPM is at 4.5, and down when it is at 3-3.5. Always keep the bike in 3.5 to 4.5rpm range, don't bother much about which gear, rather what RPM.
Kicking 4-5 times on cold start is a good practice to follow.

Thanks animeher. But about kicking 4-5 times i was refering to sam9s once commended as kicking 4-5 times as con of his GS on cold start. One more thing, I noticed that the digital console is vibrating a lil too much, is it bike specific or a general trait. Is it ok to go for a trip of 200+km before first service?Originally posted by animeher View PostNEVER ride on a constant speed in running in. Keep the RPM varying at 3.5-4-4.5.
