Guys,Originally posted by speed deamon View Posti think the disc is of waste quality i never had this kind of exp with pulsar
The issue is not with disc but the brake pads....when i had that issue and complained it to the service center. The SVC guys opened the front brake assembly and reset the brake pads position and fit it again.....this is the explanation given to me...but my disc stopped squeaking......so its not an issue with disc but the pads..... hope my explanation helps....

I know some pulsars which have those squeak sounds too, so i dont think the quality is very bad.Originally posted by speed deamon View Posti think the disc is of waste quality i never had this kind of exp with pulsar
oh wait, i should take that back,
the quality is bad, i noticed little rust on the 2 circle things(guess on the right side of the disc)
But they seem to have fixed the squeak in my disc, dont know what they did.

Bikes here are really awsome....not much to see now a days....as winter starts...people do not use bikes...it is not so safe....
and to ride at freezing temperatures cant be really called enjoying biking....
Will post some pics later of the Milan Auto show...well the Auto show was awsome...and the bikes were like...OH MY GOD!!!!

Speedy,Originally posted by speed deamon View Postyes dude its me . the svc guys changed my disc plate completely under warranty but again it started squeaking y this happens?
Get down to some serious stuff then.Go to the svc & talk to the head mechanic that inspite changing the discs, the squeaking sound still comes.Give it to them in writing & I am sure your problem will be resolved.
If the above does not work, write to Suzuki India & you shall receive a response from them.
As per my knowledge, the disc is of Good quality & as Akhil mentioned there might be a problem with the pads.
All the Best.

i think upto 160cc would have had other bikes as well.Originally posted by Puneet1 View Posti guess all these bikes were the only ones their category launched last year . they had to win
Like bajaj launches a new pulsar every year with some cosmetic changes
Even the new hunk and cbz with cosmetic changes
would have been there.
I guess even fazer.
Not sure if these were included or not though

Welcome to xBhp&Congrats on your decision!Originally posted by RAZZ BISHT View Posti m planning 2 buy gs 150r which colour should i choose
Color is completely a personal choice mate. I would choose the grey color in GS-not coz the others are bad-all are good, just that grey appeals to me.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Test Ride Report
hi guys..
I have had a test ride of the GS 150R yesterday, & their are few things I would like to confirm & mention here.
First of all let me tell you all that I have been riding short stroke high revving Hero Honda CBZ Classic from 8 Yrs now.
Now some Pro's of GS150r
1. Big bike feel - I felt like sitting on a big bike.
2. Very comfortable sitting position & handle bar position.
3. Very smooth engine.
4. No Vibes at all which I liked the most.
5. Looks - well it is personal choices but I quite liked this bike
6. 6th gear - a boon on highway for easy cruising.
7. Digi Speedo - Wonderful that's what I call it
8. Mileage - Company claims 62kmpl but on real condition anything between 50-55kmpl is good.
Now Cons
1. Bike Felt Sluggish in Eco mode which was Expected alright, but when I turned in to power mode & started revving the bike I felt bike to be sluggish again
I mean I dont know thier is no Grunt at all in the Initial range & I tried tesing the top speed I dont know what top whack I hit ( cos the speedo cable was disconnected) but I think I must have hit 80 or 85kmph that's all before I was to take a U-turn but thier was some more Juice left in the bike
Now I would like to know is thier any other mode than Eco & power cos I felt Initial to be too lazy.
But as a overall package it is a wonderful bike

Ok, let's try to get this straight!
Anyone or everyone who is telling you all rozy stories/concepts behind the Eco Mode and Power Mode either knows nothing or is a very good Sales Man aka Rocket Singh. None of the Indian Bikes that I know of has a feature where in you can switch over the Mode so as to extract either the fuel efficiency or power.
Both of the modes: Eco and Power in a GS 150R are a simple indication to inform that the band where you are Leaving the Fuel efficency (in eco Mode) and when you have got the maximum from the engine ( in Power Mode). None of the modes has got anything to do with any kind of Mapping of electronic Advancement of the performance.
So no wonder the bike preforms ditto in both of the modes. Further you can always consult the owner's Manual to know how to switch off both the (indicator) modes.
About the top speed of the vehicle and Long Stroke Short Stroke, mates, its again more of a mental blockage.
few of the long stroke Bikes I know of are:
the Baap of all-- Bullets,Karizma,GS 150 R.
As far as I know, a yamaha R15 is a long stroke bike and a Yamaha FZ 16 is a short stroke bike. now, if only stroke is what matters in a bikes performance than I wonder how R15 and a Karizma are faster bikes as compared to few other short strokes of the same capacity engine.
also, it is right in saying that long stroke bikes are more torquey as compared to Short strokes but it again is a very reletive statement and has too many ifs and buts attached to it.
The last time when I tried my hands on a new GS150R, I touched 114 kph but then again lets not forget that it was on Odo and I expect some marginal errors to it. GS 150 R is a relaxed bike, and I expect it to give decent mileage of around 48 to 55 kpl. Its not a bike that you, ideally would buy for a drag but rather for a relaxed comfortable, commuting/ touring. and keeping in mind the preformance of engines from earlier Suzuki vehicles namely Feiro, Heat, Zeus and Access, I expect a GS150 R too go miles and miles before seeing a workshop before overhauling.
all peace
dcsIts not about the BHP or the CC, its about one common religion called Biking!!!

Thanks DCS for making my confusions clear, my ansers in Bold.Originally posted by dcs View PostOk, let's try to get this straight!

Now this is contradicting - the sales man told me that how much ever U rev the bike in eco mode it doesnt get past 4.5k rpm which is around 60kmph in the bike it seems..

I know this because my sis owns a Scooty pep, only the orange light glows indicating I am in High rev range or in power range

Well exactly what I Intend to say..

Well thier are long stroke bikes which I have driven like Uni, Zma bullet etc.. but all of those has atleats good Initial.. I am wondering what is the Funda of giving long stroke high revving engine.. ( gs150r makes its max output @ 8500rpm)

let me add my 40k kms 1.5 yrs experince of Fiero.. what a Gem it is .. fantasttic bike & torquey Unlike GS150r this had lot of Initial grunt.
dcs
I am not saying it is not a good bike.. Just that wanted to confirm few things.. it can do miles & miles @ 85, 90kmph easily & we can conclude that it is the best 150cc tourer available in the market at present.sigpicAll India Permit 1+1
