Iam a GS owner and till now I had no problems with it and Iam enjoying every ride.. The rusting issue was common in the old lot and I dont think the new lot has any of it. Still I would suggest u check the bike thoroughly before u buy. I love the design of the GS. Its Macho, It has a beautiful LED tail light, awesome digital console, and has an extremely comfortable seat which is good for long drives and ofcourse its smooth and ride quality is excellent. If u want a value for money commuter bike in the 150 CC segment within your budget then ur search ends here... All the best...
Thanks buddy. I will be buying one around Jan 15th.
I personally like the black color, haven't seen one though.
What color is your GS mate?

      • @Joey...
The heel shifter is not a problem for me bro.... I got used to it... I always lift my heal to shift.... I was using toe shifter earlier... but since it causes damage to my office shoes, I practiced using heel... There is no pain in using the heel shifter....
I have orange one... I like it very much.... its my personal choice..

        @vishal
Bro, I think I did not ask the question of missing air screw(to the best of my knowledge) Sorry If I had... I'll check it later....
During the sevice, The engineer told the air screw will be there in only 2 strokes... In 4 strokes, the screw is not called so, but used to control the air fuel mixture.. can you validate this ?
The disc squeak still exist... It does not bother me though so no probs...

        @all
The regulator was changed when I talked about the new lot having different regulator.... I had also told Mr. Vinod about the less brightness of the headlight... Now it seems to be OK...

        • @Augustine:

You mentioned that after the regulator change (during free service camp) your headlight is much brighter now. Any idea if the bikes from new lots has these regulators and not the old one?

            • Man....I forgot that toe shifters might dirty office shoes, thank God Suzuki kept the heal shifter too.

                Cool...
Hopefully when I visit the showroom, they should have all the colors, just want to have a look at the colors in real.

Saw an orange GS last night. Saw the head light from the side angle, the bottom part looked like an elongated chin

                Orange looked nice at night.

                  • I don't think, tacho needle oscillation is something you need to worry about. But is this present in all GS? GS owners can help.

Even mine is not that constant when idling.
when i start in the morning its around 1k.
when engine gets heated up it goes to around 1.3k.(i reduced it from 1.5 to 1.3 with that screw )
Not sure if tuning is required or not though

it does varies slightly during idling(may be from 1.3k to 1.35k) but i noticed it only when engine is hot.

Update on oil: i switched to shell advance. gear shifts have become smooth but the sound and roughness is still the same
So guess it wasnt the oil causing this problem.
Any other suggestions ?? (like valve clearance or tappet because i can feel some vibrations like tak tak at intervals, cant describe it exactly though.)

I checked with Apple Auto, Bangalore about the idling issue. The mechanic says the ideal idling should be around 1400. I have the same question. In the mornign when i start it will be near 1000 and gear shift is butttttter smooooooth. Later after 10-15 Km ride the engine gets hot so as clutch plates and that results in high idling. Is that ok?

I guess the idling rpm increasing once engine gets hot is normal for all bikes.
Since gs150 is my first bike i dont have an idea about whether its normal for gear shifts not being smooth once clutch plate/engine gets hot.

Do you notice engine sound levels increasing when engine gets hot ?
                            that bugs me the most.

I was planning on using 20w50 oil(may be the engine gets too hot for a w40 oil to perform) but the SC people asked me to stick to 20w40 for warranty purpose.
(i was planning to ask this question if the service camp comes to b'lore)

I didnt notice this in RTR or Hunk. As of now i feel very well that once the engine is hot and the RPM goes up, shifting gears become hard. They are not as smooth as they would be at the morning. To answer about the engine sound, i have bought the bike 10 days ago and never touched more than 65 KMPH. So no idea about engine sound after 70. Till 60 it is smooooooooth.

                              Others pls advise on this.

Do not use the W50 until the warranty gets over.. what engine oil does your SC use?? Why dont you try using Elf moto 4 Gold.. heard it is a fantastic oil.. although I have not personally experinced in the bike but this is running in my sis's pep for a long time now & it runs pretty smooth all the way.. I mean even wheni take it to 70kmph engine runs smooth which was not the same when TVS SC oil was being used..

Hope it should do good for bikes as well..

I suppose your bike is very new.. this problem is somewat common if you continuosly ride bike for more than 10-15kms the gear changes becomes little rough.. if it is too much then get it checked with SVC..

IMO give it sometime.. everything new things need time to settle in do not hurry up, if you ask me I would say wait & see till the 1st service..
