First, they do such recalls in countries like US or Japan where there is an obligation under the law or the people have an option to sue them. Would you believe that Toyota had to recall their cars and change the accelerator pedal because some after market floor mats' design was making the pedal to get stuck at the bottom????

And then, the rusting problem in the Nissan cars here is said to be effecting the parking brake system and not the entire car.

Good to know that You had a call from your dealer. I called swapna, anna nagar, today, to find out when the japs are visiting their place. The phone conversation went like ...

ME: I heard that ABT had called their GS customers to inform them about jap engineers visiting their showroom. Arent the japs visiting your place ? If so then why havent you informed your GS customers ?
DEALER: The japs were expected yesterday but they didnt turn up.
ME: The japs are visitng ABT on 7th & 8th. Why not yours.
DEALER: We do not know when they would visit us but we got info that they already visited ABT yesterday. We are conducting a service camp exclusive for the GS owners on 14th & 15th Dec.
ME: What kind of service camp is this ? Why am I not being informed about it ?
DEALER: In this camp we would inspect for faulty parts like engine bore and replace them for free. We would be sending out invites soon. (i doubt if they would do this )
ME: What a free bore replacement ? Are you Sure ?
DEALER: Yes

I dont know how much of truth is there to the above info. I dont expect suzuki to go about changing bores for free.
1. How many of chennai GS owners are planning to visit ABT on 7th & 8th ?
2. I request other chennai GS owners also to call up swapna suzuki and find out info about the Jap visit & service camp to be held on 14, 15th. If we get the same info as I got then we could all join and put forward our problems as a group. Other dis-illusioned GS owners like me Mathewsyriac & Dhiwakar ... you guys up for this ?

ADD my name in your list, miy name is ABDUL KHADAR,But I am 300Km away from chennai,Also My only problem is mileage, but i support others who have some other problems in bike,I buy this bike after seeing 50+ mileage reported,completed now 6000KM ,did once carburetor tuning, still gives me 40kmpl,short of another 10+ mileage
Please I request others who telling their mileage figure here,write whether it is R to R or not?

Yes,took delivery yesterday bike is smooth but the gear downshift is a bit clunky for now..got to get used to it And no, dint see any japanese people nor were they discussing about it yesterday...but if its a service camp dont miss it for sure

i spoke to ABT and they told me that japs would be in ABt on 16,17,18 december....

japs had made a casual visit to ABT yesterday.. but the actual visit is on 16,17,18 december only ...

the above was confirmed by ABT people just now...

today i went to service center regarding the rusting and the front disc issue the service center head took the pictures of rusted parts and told that he will soon replace my disc plate. i hope the suzuki people will replace it soon

what is wrong with your disc brake?
for me the squeak sound at low speed never seems to go.
and now when i apply discs it make a loud sound too

yeah buddy same problem the service center guy told that intimate this problem to suzuki people they will give u new disc plate which would be around 1800 Rs so, kindly intimate them .. i think even u got the defective disc bro its sounding like as if there is no disc pads in the caliper no bike is giving that weird sound. i own honda shine which is 1.5 yr old but the disc never used to sound like that. so kindly check that

I reported it during servicing also, those people said its because of dust, just spray water and it will be ok.
its kinda sad(and funny too), already the rear brake is too weak and at signals when i apply disc(riding at 20-25km/h) to stop everyone on the road looks at me like i've tried to stop from 50km/h all of a sudden

may be someone could ask the mechanics during the workshop on 14th or 15th if they'll visit b'lore hyderbad etc.

But 2day Mr. Satish accepted that there is some problem in my bike since the CO2 reading was very unsteady...
He was very courteous and polite as u said. And suggested me to be highlight the issues during the service camp time...

According to me, the main Suzuki team messed up with the bike and its quality control.. So, Doesn't mean that we have to pounce on the SC people, they r only appointed to work there...
In-fact i was telling the same to Mr. Satish also.. He was pleased with my attitude towards him, since he was hearing only complaints n shoutings from most of the customers i suppose. He then agreed with the defects of the bike and hope he would definitely support my complaints during the camp...

So, i am definitely going stress on the problems...

Could you ask the managers at the service camp whether the camps will be conducted in other cities also(bangalore especially )
I wish i could come to chennai but my sem exams are going on
And if possible tell them many people from different cities have thr r***ing problem and its not limited to coastal areas. (if some vice president or ceo of suzuki is there at the camp you could suggest the recall idea with the toyota and nissan example for thr r***ing bikes and faulty engines and see how they reacts)
