Many in forum complain of vapour lock,as well as petrol vaporizing ..which is true ? what is the petrol cap arrangement in GS150 for this ?....Most petrol tank caps are either fully ventilated, bidirectional, or a small valve locks in Vapour pressure and when vacum arises open to atmosphere to prevent vacuum lock.

There are reports of Fake Castrol oils being marketed..so to be safe keep away from it and go for Gulf Pride 4T plus, Shell AX series, Motul as recommended for your bike.Originally posted by MSN1 View Post

@ Abdul (akfara)
Yeah valvoline champ is jaso ma2 and I found nowadays castrol and shell as well are jaso ma 2
Sorry guys going (OOT) out of topic
Figo is a drivers car according to the dealer and other owners petrol mileage after first 3000 kms varry between 10 to 15 in city and on long drive 15 to 20 all it depends on driving style, city and fuel quality.
Boot space is really big, only problem is it has good wheel base (the length between front and back wheel) it gives more stability but cause hurddle for the bed to clear many of our unscientific speed breakers
On my diesel figo am getting 25 kmpl on long with A/C on.
In my experiance diesel figo or new swift is better choise for you as you already feedup feeding more petrol for GS and diesel is not only cheeper modern day diesel engines are much better suzuki bring us a diesel GS as we love to drive more on GS but govt love to increase more on petrol price and tax.
@psr,
Yeah that's very much true as all the criminal duplicate oil makers doesn't know gulf or motul they know very well about castrol as it sells more so duplicate castrol is more. But am luck to have a karnataka government oil direct selling shop (below the kr puram cable fly over and its close to railway station and next to a mosque)
Even shell oil doesn't goes good with GS moreover
the evaporation of petrol is possible even in high class bikes to manage the pressure inside petrol tank will vary according to temperature so a tiny way near cap is required to let air get in / out so as to avoid unexpected disasterSarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity

and the worst brakes in the segment. The rear brake is useless.Originally posted by mach50 View Postthere is one thing i hate about popular journalism, and that is biased and sold out opinion.so, high is the bias that they forget the fact that they contradict their own statements.
According to the ride experience and statistics and data report of the above shootout,
suzuki gs150r sports, the best fuel effieciency@57kmpl,the second highest top speed@116kmph (only after the 160cc rtr at 118kmph,though i know that is not a redline figure),the smoothest of all the engines and the best ride quality and ergonomics.
despite of all the above, their final winner is the hero honda hunk, which is way behind gs150r in almost all parameters except the wannabe styling.
this is what popular media does in india.
however,gs150r has been tested faster and more fuel efficient than the dazzler too !!! Even it has nothing special to offer other than show and pomp according to the testers.
gs150r still holds the crown despite the grudge that they did not get a bike to test and self contradictory verdict.
High speed braking is not inspiring. Even after changing the
brake shoes, it is the same. Should have gone for apache

I also housed similar thoughts till the time, my mechanic taught me effective braking. Now I feel,GS150R brakes under panic situation with a feel next to ABS.Originally posted by sarvodaya View Postand the worst brakes in the segment. The rear brake is useless.

Even sometimes I think, would have been the RTR160 better ???, but the vibrations and significantly raw ride quality of the RTR makes me think I am better of with GSR.Hell's Angel

I will differ in this, there best drivers who can control the vehicle even with worst brakes and there worst drivers who got crashed and killed even with best (abs + edb blah blah) breaksOriginally posted by sarvodaya View Postand the worst brakes in the segment. The rear brake is useless.

It all depends on how defensivly we drive and how good we are at breaking and as said by vishnu during panic sittuation the way our body muscles reacts to the sittuation does matters; so finally your saviour are safety gearsSarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity

Hey Madhu, its supposed to be CO level right ? not CO2.Originally posted by MSN1 View PostJust done with testing emission test for my GS it shows
CO2 = 1.77 is that value is normal
Anyway, even my bike's CO level was 1.86. So i guess GS has a high CO level. I think Vishnu and Abdul were saying 1.2 is the normal level. Not sure though. But if your mileage is good dont try tuning for CO level, i asked the SC to tune CO levels and my mileage dropped by 5kmpl.

Yes falcon I say normal is 1.2 for CO is thru the SC manager from pondy told me and reduced it to below it ...but its long time ago while my odo is 8500Km...Now 17700km on Odo ...waiting for another CO test if i visit Reliable CO test center or SC pondyOriginally posted by thefalcon View PostHey Madhu, its supposed to be CO level right ? not CO2.
