Its a curse of demon called catalyst converter, where ever you stop the bike immidiatly the curse wakes up and give the sound tak tak, and even after parking you will hear the sound. The angry demon is trying to burn out the unburnt fuel it won't go off even after 20,000 kms or 2,00,000 kms even if you replace the bike it will continuee.Originally posted by Joe85 View Post

If you are talking about the drain bolt under the engine then yes, there is a strainer screen (mesh) inside it which is held in place by two screws. If you are talking about the cap which is at the side of the engine (right side engine case), then that is the oil filter( pleated paper).Originally posted by speed deamon View Postguys a small doubt if we open that strainer cap then is there any mesh like thing inside or is it just a cap please throw some light on this

well i cleaned it myself at home when i clocked around 900 kms (just after run in) and found some metal chips and dirt on the mesh. Its a simple DIY job if you got some time and some basic tools. The manual mentions it needs to be cleaned though i dont remember the exact interval.Originally posted by speed deamon View Postoh yesterday i went to service my bike and i said him to clean the strainer screen but that idiot opened the three nuts below the engine and just cleaned the plate he didn't opened the screen at all

There is one thing I hate about popular journalism, and that is biased and sold out opinion. So, high is the bias that they forget the fact that they contradict their own statements.Originally posted by MSN1 View PostPlease check this URL
150cc shootout - Six Pack!
According to the ride experience and statistics and Data report of the above shootout,
Suzuki GS150R sports, the best Fuel effieciency@57kmpl,the second highest top speed@116kmph (only after the 160cc RTR at 118kmph,though I know that is not a redline figure),the smoothest of all the engines and the best ride quality and ergonomics.
Despite of all the above, their final winner is the Hero Honda Hunk, which is way behind GS150R in almost all parameters except the wannabe styling.
This is what popular media does in India.
However,GS150R has been tested faster and more fuel efficient than the Dazzler too !!! Even it has nothing special to offer other than show and pomp according to the testers.
GS150R still holds the crown despite the grudge that they did not get a bike to test and self contradictory verdict.Hell's Angel

The oil filter cap has 3 bolts, It is located next to the oil filler hole. The oil strainer screen which speed deamon is talking about is located under the engine. This is inside a plate which has 3 small bolts with the engine oil drain nut at the centre of it. If you open the drain nut and the 3 bolts around it, you will find a mesh which is held by 2 screws inside. Open these 2 screws to take the mesh out.Originally posted by KIRTIMANNAN View Post@ speed deamon and cbf 150m

Hey gspians,
I have been trying to tune my bike for fuel efficiency from past few months.
Even the Service center guys tuned it couple of times. But no use.
Iam getting an average of around 40kmpl.
Some times when i ride fast[around 6k rpms] i get 35kmpl and with very sane riding[60kmph] its 40-43kmpl.I never got above 50kmpl.
I'l be going to service center for one last time to get it checked and test the mileage with a 100ml can.
At present the fuel screw is at 3 full rotations from the lock position and the idling is 1.4k rpms when engine is warm.
Odometer reading-7300kms
Any suggestions are welcome..
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

3 full rotations might make the fuel air mixture little rich. If you can get the 100ml can for a day or even 2 hours, try different fuel screw settings and check the mileage. 2 turns might work better. And service centre people are useless, dont bother asking them to tune your bike. I was getting a mileage of 48 with little high CO levels, so i asked them to tune with a gas analyzer. after service my bike's mileage has come down to 40 too.Originally posted by manubhat View PostHey gspians,

and the best part is, i noted the fuel screw position before giving it for service, they didnt touch it ! god knows how the mileage reduced.
If you want you could try going to the place Madhu mentioned earlier. The one where the mechanic took photos and videos to prove he actually did the service.

If the efficiency is bad means you won't get 60+ in long ride, Consider the following critria,
1. Keeping low quantity of petrol (near or close to or below reserve) will lead to more space for air that makes more petrol to vaporise. And the above said critria will reduce milage further if the daily miles (kms run per day is very less)
Last time I just added 2 ltrs petrol and kms passed with in 4 days is 92 (46 kms per ltr) before that gone for a trip to a village near tirupathi (AP) during that long ride I got 61 kmpl
Today changed engine oil and oil fillter.
Engine oil name : valvoline champ 4T 20W - 40
Crossed almost 40 kms with this oil, its no match to the king motul, but not bad going good
Engine sound is not as good as motul, but engine operation is smooth and gear changing is fine. (No slippage)
Found in the shop cstrol power 1 semi synth is now a jaso ma 2 standerd oil and the cost is 290 (mrp 320) did any one tried it recentlySarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity

Vishnu said keeping low quantity will vaporise fuel more ..I am riding just 10km a day
....
Is that Valvoline is Jaso Ma 2 standard..????
I am now using Castrol power 1 changed 1 month ago(1000km done) not noticed it is Jaso ma 2 standard or not in pack ..that means now is it coming in new pack(Can)..??? ..For me engine is rough when hots its natural as said by Vishnu ..otherwise no problem in using Castrol power 1
..
By the way how u feel driving cars(ford figo) compare to bike...How is the ground clearance of ford figo when tried on big speed braker..??
Is the head lamp is enough for night riding for ford figo...??
I need a favor..if u go service ask fellow Figo petrol owners what the mileage they getting if u found some petrol figo owners or else ask SC itself ....
How is the boot space compare to wagon R and i10...???ABDUL KHADAR
