    That link you gave is an old one. They are talking of a bike launch on Aug 25, 2010, not 2011. The bike launched by suzuki was the boring, but economical commuter slingshot 125cc.

    As for new gs150r launch date, its only rumors. I too heard that a new gs150r is coming shortly, but from the info i got from a suzuki showroom, there wont be any major changes except new colors and graphics and maybe a new tank or just new tank lid.

    Rear disc brake option may come at extra cost. Yes, rear disc brake is not necessary for 150cc bikes, but suzuki cannot afford to ignore its competitors, as now apache, dazzler, hunk and new cbzx are coming with rear disc brake option.

    Suzuki's R&D dont seem to be interested in adding new innovations to their bikes/scooter, and also suzuki's lazy marketing team dont want to promote their bikes. I wonder when suzuki will wake up from their deep sleep in India?

      ohkk...is the 111kmph you mentioning the speedometer readings or the Gps ones???

      and Thanks....
      @Kirtimannan
      the news what you found out is true.....indeed they are launching a new 150cc but the sales would start in september..... the only glitch here is it is not the new GS150R model but a new Slingshot150cc model(confirmed).....with most probable mods in current GS(these are what i think) the power will be increased to some 15.5 + bhp figure.....the weight will be reduced to some 135kgs and even the tank is getting a new shape(its losing its size)....
      Suzuki is going on the way how dazzler was born....
      good they are retaining the GS like Unicorn.....

          ^ please dont repost the same thing three times.....
          The new Gs150R model i.e. 2011 model will be the same as usual graphics changes, more colour options and rear disc brakes....

          Yeah i support you.........when suzuki is bringing the cutting edge technology globally...they are even making machines on which one can droollll....then why is it that they are lagging behind only in India....marketing stuff...they are not bothered....even the latest one(slingshot) if they are planning it to be their best seller then why do they show ads which resemble late 90s stuff(except the chick).....and i thought they would promote the GS but heck no they are promoting slingshot which is a bigg thumbs down in market.....

          Suzuki Guys you hearing.....(i know the feedback department guys log on to thsse kind of forums)....

            Yeah it happened to me too when I purchased the bike in the mid-monsoon season, it occurs still now

            Abut Joel, For a starting all I can say he can make slow, humble things go rocketly fast.
            His first project was a Fiero which went to become a Vtwin, then another Fiero which became 200cc, then a R15 which went to track racing,then a RTR180, then Pulsar 220 and Karizma.......each bike became faster and faster,way faster than its stock cousins.Till he became the official engineer of WTR Ten10 racing,now taking part in MotoGP.He is the only tuner of four-stroke bikes in India who really can build performance.When I enquired him about my erstwhile Suzuki Zeus, he said that he can change it radically.But I never get the time and resources to take my bikes that long away and get it done.So, I asked any one GS150R owner based at Bangalore to approach him for the mods.Then he can develop custom kits(big bore,free flow exhaust) for this bike too and I as well as every GSpian can ship those parts for our own bikes.His mods never have any adverse effects on the bikes.It betters it,as far as the customer feedback goes so far.

            @Augustine09:Well, the Splitfire cable offers seamless flow of electricity to the spark plug at high rpms without feeling shot out unlike the stock cable cum adapter.The Irridium sparkplug on the other being non-protruded in nature does not suffer being blown off when the cylinder is being constantly filled with huge A/F mixture at high rpms.All these while offering seamless amount of constant spark in all rpm ranges and without going out soon.

            Pimping the GS150R :

            Was tired of my belt buckle playing kid with the marvellous tank,so installed a tank pad.......and it goes without saying,it adds character to the bike

            The Splitfire cable that I use :

            @Maestro: Speedometer indicated 111km/h.

              • 3rd service skip

                Hi Guys, I just returned from Sc and was shocked to hear that they are not considering my 3rd service and took the coupon for 4th service instead..

                I booked the bike on 12-11-2010 and they gave me the delivery on 21-11-2010. They are considering the date from 12th..The guy told me the 3rd service is for 140 days and it has crossed the days..Only exception is 20 days and it is more than it..

                They gave me the estimate of 650 rs.. I don't know what to do with these guys...

                  The gear lever and brake pedal is not the cause of the vibration but the loose visor. Buy 4 visor nuts from the sc and replace the stock ones and tighten the visor properly. This is the only way to get rid of the vibration.

                    They are waiting to get the market saturated with other bikes so that they can sell none; I think.

                        Is it an estimate or real bill after servicing? Did you pay the amount?

                          Mach50,
                          It is nice. Is it rainy season in Calcutta?

                          Usually, the days are calculated from the date of delivery of the bike; not from the date of manufacturing or delivering it to the dealer or the date of booking and today is the 158th day of your purchase.
                          If they are giving a 20 days allowance, there is no problem in accepting it as the 3rd service. And the 3rd and 4th are free services too. So, ask the workshop manager why they are not considering it as the 3rd service.
                          Please post here the details of the bill/estimate they have given.
                          Almost all SCs are trying to help the customer in one way or other. Where is this strange service centre?

                          • It's the rough estimate. The Sc is located in chennai near Guindy..

                              Not the monsoons, only torrential downpours now and then.
                              Makes a dirt of otherwise clean bike and the spots of rain drops.The droplets though adds freshness to the pictures
