  • hi guys..got my bike from 1st service recently...had some issues that were sorted...now bike is running nice...yesterday tested the R to R method of mileage testing and got 48 kmpl..pretty decent..i think if i refine the way i ride i can get more from it..

small issue i noticed yesterday was that the first time i tried to get the speed over 5k rpm the bike was rough..engine sound was rougher and there was this general vibration on the handle bar..from somewhere suddenly there is vibrations coming into my bike..even on idle i can feel small vibes which were not present before...also i feel vibes on both foot rests and both pedals(brake and gear).

secondly after riding around in 6th gear for a while when i came to a stop at a signal i noticed that my hot rpm was sitting close to 1700-1800 rpm..and not at the usual 1500 rpm..is this because the bike had run so much or should i tighten the nut to get the rpm back in range..cold rpm ranges on 1100-1200...

otherwise generally happy with bike..the SVC ppl charged me 400 for first service..i think the looted me..

once i said no to oil change and the charge was zero, despite they washed and cleaned it,

it should be charged only for oil + oil filter and may be so called battery maintenance ( but what is that other consumables )

go back and talk to service manager for refund for 90 rupees + vat 12.5 % on 90 rupees,

          • just got a call from SVC feedback team..asking me about how the service was..told them it was decent and asked them about the extra costs..she said that the labour charges should not have been charged but the consumables include grease polish washing etc..so i should talk to the SVC manager and get the refund...

            • I recently gave my bike for servicing (about 2 weeks ago), paid service obviously, and specifically asked them to do the CO tuning and adjust the AFR of the bike.
But just to double check that they actually do something to the fuel screw i changed the position to make the groove vertical.
But when i got my bike back the screw was at the exact same position, and today i checked mileage R2R and the mileage is the same too (47kmpl).

Now its pretty obvious that the svc has just washed the bike and given it back, do you think i should go and complain to the svc manager that nothing was done and ask him to tune the carb again in front of me, or is it better to find a good local mechanic for tuning the carb. (i'm not sure if those svc mechanics even know how to tune it properly now)

The R to R or full tank to full tank are not reliable methods and the result is not accurate. Check the mileage with 200-300 or more ml of petrol in a jar which is available in the service centre.

The vibration may be due to loose engine mounting nuts or nonalignment of visor. Ask the mechanic to tighten all the engine mounting nuts and if the vibration persists after that, replace all the visor nuts and tighten the bolts properly. This will solve the vibration problem.

is there any way that i can tighten the screws and nuts myself..if its easy i can do it instead of going to SVC and giving it and waiting for one day..the RPM i can fix myself..

It is difficult because you are lacking necessary tools and experience but you can align the visor. It has been discussed in detail in some of the previous pages.

                          Hi,
Thanks for forwarding that post to me.
i'll try opening the air filter and checking it tomorrow morning.
Tyre pressure is fine, chain also adjusted recently.
Riding style, it might take me some time to adapt/improve.

                            • Guys,

I read good reviews about this product. They have similar product for Cars which have good rating in T-bhp too.

i thought of trying it as im bit worried about damaging engine by my style of riding. I damaged two or three bores in my victor.

So it claims to seal any micro cracks and reduce noise and vibration and also increase compression.

Will give a shot as its just 400 and will not loose much. Planning to do some before and after results for proof.

Still dint get the product. will try to get some detail after getting it.

                                Hey guys,

It's been long time..My odo is still at 3500 kms.. It has crossed 140 days from the purchase and I plan to give it for 3rd service..I got the fuel testing kit from my local mechanic(the one with the small bottle and tube)..

I filled 100 ml of petrol and tested on normal road(many speedbrakes and conditions of road is very bad).. it ran for 5.6 km..Then I tested again in highway mostly without braking, it gave 5.9 km.. I maintained between 40 -50 kmph...

what should i expect or ask the sc guys to check precisely..
I feel the noise from the engine has gone up and sometimes the gears are not falling correctly. Even though i change the gear, it makes sound and movement as if the gear was changed, but it remains in the same gear..

I saw a couple of posts earlier that the some sc guys are not doing the service properly and they only do waterwash and change oil.. It exactly happened in my 2nd service and the most horrible part is even they had not made the water service properly, there were a lot of mud under the mud guard.. I had to speak with the supervisor there and made them to water wash in front of me..It would be helpful if some senior guys point to me how to know if the service was made correctly.. is there any way to check??
Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by its breathtaking moments.
