Also, I don't see many GS150Rs around here in Hyderabad, can anyone guess why?(This is one of the reasons I am inclined toward this bike, its not Omnipresent)
The Hyd people choice is different, as you see CBZ extream(old/new) plenty of them on roads where latest hunk's are very less. I never seen these many CBZ'z in any city (chennai/mumbai/delhi/pune) as in hyd.

People here feel better with hero moto and bajaj only. As per my personal experiance only SABOO suzuki is the only SVC is better when compared to all other SVC's. The lack of SVC's and fear of spare parts and lack of advertisement of GS are the cause for lesser bikes in hyd.

People will only think about suzuki when no other company bike is satisfying their needs. So many people doen't know that there is a bike called GS150R after 3 years of launch ... what a pity for suzuki . wake up Suzuki.... follow your bigger brother Suzuki cars steps in marketing

They tried that at the very beginning by bringing in the Zeus and Heat, which they thought would serve like Maruti 800 and Alto for them. But people expected small Hayabusas from Suzuki as bike makers.

Then at the verge of losing most delaerships due to lack of viable sales in major cities of India, they launched their Swift like product called the GS150R but people did not know about it since most dealers do not sell any

I think they should follow the Bajaj in India, for their own good.

How many of you seen Our bike's ad in TV?

BTW, my bike got punctured today. The tube neck was almost broken and couple of tiny holes on the tube. Recovered 1 nail from the tire. Had to replace the tube for 300 bucks. as there was no other option left, it was written Donlop tube cant remember the name exactly....

Its 7500KM on ODO, my rear wheel has become flat at the middle, I dont want one more nail to peirce and spoil my new tube, Please advice me which tyre i can put for rear? The stock tire is very scary on wet roads...Doesnt give any grip on wet roads.

        • You can use Michelin sporty: costs some 1850 fitted. Exactly the same specs as the stock one, so no modification required. Being tubeless, less risk of getting stranded by punctures, though a big nail can still punch a hole. I was riding with a nail for some kilometers before repairing it. The tubeless puncture kit is easy to use, but requires Herculean strength to push the damn filler into the tire. But the puncture removal is VERY easy, and takes hardly a minute or so if done properly, with a strong man!

EDIT: Oh you require a tube tire! But anyways, recommend you to go with tubeless, and keep the tube as spare for emergencies. This is anyways a once in a few years upgrade, so better spend a few hundred more.

Michelin sporty ? How is the grip in wet road? Is it soft compound? Is it good for offroad ?

Dude....where do you ride....????mine odo shows 22k but still the tyre has good grip left....and i ride on highways at high speeds which causes a lot of wear n tear...though the tyre shows some markings of getting old....but the front tyre looks as good as new one....
Go for mrf nylogrip zapper Q....thats one of the best tyres which also provide good wet grip...the michelin sporty doesnt provide adequate grip in wet condition and is very prone to aquaplaning....

Yes, totally agree, Hyd, a City full of HHs & Bajajs!!
Even I see lot of Access 125s with Saboo sticker on them! This shows how good it is!
Obviously, Service & Spares is one big problem with SUZUKI.

Yes, totally agree. The marketing strategies of SUZUKI are pathetic. You get to know this from the pathetic website they have. Also I hardly see any Ads on TV!! Suzuki's got a long way to go to get to the top!

Lets hope that they will launch a new bike in 180cc segment & also upgrade the GS150!

But it has a psychological effect on many riders and it is quite natural. It is like the easiness we feel when we use an oil which we believe to be the best but which really is not.

The same is the effect we get when we use K&N or any other aftermarket air filter, any of the oil or fuel additives or any of the scrap power boosters. The iridium spark plug or branded petrol has nothing much to offer when used in a 150 or less cc bike but most of us feel that the bike is performing much better when we use these products even though there is no scientific evidence to prove it.

Rear wheel became flat at 7500 kms? Mine is 18000 kms and is still perfect. Maestro, as he himself said, is one of our high-speed riders who have gone more than 1600 kms in 24 hours with the same tire.

Had some scary moments with this tyre while riding alone and with pillion rider but it never skidded and hence I believe it is trustable.

Can you please upload an image of that tire?

I did rode the bike without visor and the vibes are there past 50 kmph...But with visor they are amplified.
Today I did around 100kms(with visor) around bangalore and was at the speed of around 75. Now there are considerable vibes at that speed and the intensity of it is some what half that of the 3.5k rpm's vibes So will replace all the nuts this weekend and will see whether it helps..

Also do i need to replace the whole set up (nut + rubber) ? A combined unit(1 pair) costed me 18 rs yesterday..
                      Yes will wash the pads..

Replace all the 4 visor nuts and then:
                      1.
                      2. Readjust / replace the engine balancer.
                      3. Check the engine mounting bolts and tighten them properly in correct torque.
                      4. Check the seating of the crank bearing and replace if necessary.
                      5. Check and ensure that both front and rear axle nuts are tightened in correct torque.
                      6. Check all the nuts and bolts and tighten them properly in correct torque.

rightnow 90% towards suzuki GS150.Am I going in right direction?

If you decide to buy GS, it will be a clever decision; I think. Almost all of the minute problems such as roaring sound etc are solved in the new batch of this bike.

After that I have ridden 150+100 kms in the daylight with the headlight switched on. The total travel took about 6.5 hours and it seems that everything is fine.

                        • Default idle RPM

Does anyone know what's the default idle RPM of GS150R and how we could adjust it? In my last service, the ASC guy has increased it to 2K and it's becoming a pain to drive the bike in 1st/2nd gear with such high RPM.

Absolutely agree that suzuki marketing is in deep sleep in India. Their website does not even have a decent large-size picture of the gs150r. Even disc brake model of slingshot is not displayed on their website. The slingshot tv ad is so outdated.

Many people hesitate to buy gs150r because of its size, and the showroom guys add to the fear by saying it weighs 150 kg. Nobody mentions that the dry weight of gs150r is 134 kg. It is not even mentioned on their website; so imagine how lazy they are. Suzuki is a real lazy company, as far as internet/tv marketing goes, literally pathetic.

When talking about sales, they repeat the same statement every month like a parrot: "We have received a very good response from the market to all our products. The growing customer satisfaction among present owners of Suzuki products has led to a positive word-of-mouth in the market." Even next month you can find this same statement on ********** website regarding sales chart. Thats how lazy they are.

The design and style of gs150r is good, but its a bit too heavy with kerb weight of 149 kg. Look at yamaha SZ-R, its a 150cc bike with kerb weight of 132 kg; good power-to-weight ratio. It is lightweight but it is durable. Its a commuter but its stylish. Why cant suzuki do something like that? The only negative of Sz-r is absent kicker.

If suzuki bring a SZ-r type lighter 150cc with same gs150r engine, front and rear disk brakes, and kicker retained with kerb weight of 140-142 kg that would be great. They can capture wait-listed unicorn customers with such a bike. But suzuki product strategy is bad; they are deaf, dumb, and blind as to what the competition is up to, and continue bringing outdated heavy bikes.
