The charging voltage is 14.30 and is almost constant. This too is enough; I hope.
The total riding with headlight now is more than 450 kms and 12 hours. Though not sure about the battery life, this conversion is giving satisfactory result up to this moment.
1.Rewound the coil with 19 swg winding wire at the rate of 72 turns per pole.
2.Dipped it in insulating warmish and dried with hair drier.
3.
4.Opened the magneto cover, removed the stock coil, put the rewound coil in its place, and brought both ends of the coil outside. (One through the wire already there and the other by piercing the bush).
5. Applied a very small quantity of Araldite on both surfaces of the bush to prevent possible oil leak.
6.Connected each ends of the coil to the GREY colored wires of the RR.
7.
8.Connected the YELLOW wire from RR to the +ve (positive) of the battery through the fuse already there.
9.Connected the +ve of the battery to the ORANGE wire of the bike, which is from the ignition switch.
No relay is used yet to connect the headlight but using it is safer if higher watt bulb is used as headlight as the relay protects the switch.
If anyone decides to covert the bike to full DC, winding the coil with 18 swg wire with a minimum 66 turns per pole is more desirable if planning to use more wattage or number of bulbs as firegun does.
And do it in your own responsibility if you are ready to take the risk. I am not responsible for any consequences.

Which fairing are you mentioning? That bracket is not welded to the forks and it costs about Rs. 450/- and the headlight assembly costs Rs. 1200/-.
The total loss comes about Rs. 2250/- and in my opinion, it is better to claim insurance. Approach the dealer if you decide to claim insurance.

Thanks Visnhu
Note:
1. I am not using any magical power to attain such mileage.
2. I dont use any fake pictures or methods here to show the mileage.
3. As vishnu said i dont say that only retuning will give a good mileage.
4. Very soon i planned to post my Riding Style like RPM to Gear shift Ratio

Please do not misunderstand me. I didn’t mean that the pictures or your claims are fakes. I don’t believe that that good mileage or even a part of it is due to the retuning of the carburetor.
This retuning was once spreading like a plague among GS owners. The result was some spoiled bikes with worse mileage and performance. Some of those modifiers reverted to the original settings and some others replaced the carburetor itself together with other engine parts.
But now too I believe that most of those ‘advisers’ didn’t alter the settings in their own bike. I mean it is easier to advice others than doing something ourselves.

Ask that sub-dealer to f**k off.Originally posted by souban82 View PostAfter that the Authorized dealer calls me and shows his irritation for my feedback to Suzuki. He also tells me that the Temporary Registration no. is ready with him along with the service manual but he is not responsible to send me the same.
I think you spoke to me before at Facebook, where in, again over here I have to say that Suzuki has not authorised the dealer to sell that vehicle to you.
He sold it to you because he would make profits from it as he does on selling products of any brands Bajaj,Yamaha,TVS and Hero-Honda and Honda too.
His behaviour towards you is not for your buying a Suzuki vehicle, it is his characteristic trait and he would have done it in one way or other even if you bought anything other than the Suzuki.
I am very satisfied customer of the GS150R, most people in Kolkata and on Xbhp knows that..........I too bought it from a sub-dealer who was backed by the main dealer for all amenities that can be enjoyed including sales and services and I do enjoy them, no issues.
I get invitation on various occassions from my sub-dealer and can ask his favour anytime, thats my relation with them and even the main-dealer makes it sure every month over the phone whether everything is ok with my bike or not...............So I can tell you being from Kolkata myself and a proud GS150R owner........it is not the Suzuki company which is responsible for your condition, it is the damn sub-dealer.
It took a month for my Registration(it happens only in Kolkata sadly-lokpal bill, when passed,if at all, should also judged some RTOs
) to be complete for my GS150R but received the Temporary Number at the main-dealer itself on the day of delivery and toured over 1600kms with it.(so long you keep that odometer disconnected and do not break any traffic rule or meet mishap with the TC number, you are safe)
I would tell , if you have the cash memo and bill of whatever money you paid for various things on buying the GS, get it checked by some Motor Vehicles official for authenticity...........if it proves that something is wrong, immediately move the law.Last edited by MACH50; 08-29-2011, 01:35 PM.Hell's Angel

Plus this:
This is due to some financial problems between the main and sub dealer. The latter may not have paid the due amount to the dealer. The vehicle cannot be registered at the RTO office without the sale letter from him.
I think the dealer is trying to make it an issue to solve the financial problems with the sub-dealer who is keeping the cost of the sold out bikes himself.
In strict sense, the temporary registration is valid only to ride to the dwelling place (house) of the customer and from there to the RTO office for registration. But it is true that we are riding the vehicles for months without registering it. Here, in our Mera Bharath Mahan, we can do anything without being questioned by anyone.
In some places, the dealer is obtaining a duly stamped, signed declaration from the customer with an undertaking that the customer himself is responsible for the consequences of riding the vehicle without valid registration.
It is absolutely necessary to teach that dealer and sub-dealer a memorable lesson after getting the papers from them.
Now, it is better to contact the sales manager of the company. If this mischief is reported and proved, the dealer will surely loss his dealership.

mileage factors
@ firegun..thanks mate for the info...so it is 2.25(2x360+1x90=810 degrees anticlockwise) turns from lean.
@Vishnu and firegun...I too know that mileage is an interplay among tuned carburetor, driving skills and quality&quantity of fuel used. And firstly i want to control the things in my hand i.e,tuned carburetor, driving skills,so that is why i asked our fellow gspin's to share there tuned carburetor settings(even though so many times the svc guyz co tuned it but the mileage not satisfactory) and gear shift@rpm/kmph..( generally i ride my gs smoothly not accelarating instantly and those acts of ripping etc..)I even followed vishnu's technic of early gear shifts for better milage, but could not attain good mileage.About the fuel..hardly we have fuel stations in cities where we are assured to get accurate and quality fuel..hence it is out of my hands.Last edited by nagthemissile; 08-29-2011, 09:30 AM.
