Generally companies officially keep highly mum about any upcoming products, that is no big deal.

And wtih Suzuki, this was the exact condition when the GS150R first launched. No one had a single clue about any upcoming 150cc from Suzuki, until the first pictures got leaked just a week before its original launch. For that one week people started having debate about its power and name.........Lanza and above 15 bhp in stock conditions, but Suzuki then turned out is a fine bike for most Indian commuters with an all-rounder attitude.

Bad luck that it came at that time when people of India started hating Suzuki for their negligence in understanding the actual expectations of people. How GS survived the market is as we all know.

Let us wait for a lighter, more powerful dream bike with modified headlight, rear disc brake, smaller fuel tank and ultra smooth gears. But you are now admitting that that white GS on internet is a real fake.

hi, out of all the locks above xena alarm disc lock is the best. I have it and i can swear by it. Just lock it on your disc as shown and have a good night's sleep. The alarm will not sound untill someone moves the bike. So rain, cat or heavy vehicles cant trigger the alarm. You need to buy it online and get it shipped to you as it not available in india. Note this alarm is very useful if you park your bike in a garage or somewhere where some stupid kid or a guy doesnot sit and play with your handlebar. For day use like going to office, cinema etc. fork lock is good. A security system is good only when there are people around. I have seen cases where the thieves opened the magneto coil and disconnected the connection. But they could not start the bike as pointed by 'visnukmd' and had to run for their life leaving the bike. It seems like some sort of immobiliser as found on cars. Thanks. Raj

            • Guys I am looking to buy a new bike and read through many threads here including this one.

              Here are my requirements.

              - Upright sitting posture for a 6 foot 2 guy.
              - Big fuel tank => longer range on full tank means more comfort during touring
              - Mileage of atleast 40 when cruising at 90 kmph.
              - Mileage of around 45 in city => daily commute is 50 km. So anything less, I cant afford for now.
              - Can cruise at 90 - 100 all day without any issues.
              - No Hero Moto Corp, Honda or Pulsar.

I zeroed in on two bikes matching these requirements - Thunderbird and GS150R.

My parents are dead against the TB as they say any enfield is a police man's vehicle and a few other personal reasons. Cant blame them anyway.

I have one doubt though. Can the GS cruise at 90 - 100 all day without any issues? I am not a fan of top speed or wont cruise at above 100.

GS 150 R is your best bet. However, i would like to inform you about the pillion rider seat, it's very height and not comfortable for ladies or aged people to climb. If you are a solo rider, then no problem...

                    - Mileage of atleast 40 when cruising at 90 kmph.yes tested and experinced the comfort at 3 digit speed
                    - Mileage of around 45 in city => daily commute is 50 km. So anything less, I cant afford for now. [here people got more than 55 also] either performance and mileage depends up on the drives physical and mental state
                    - Can cruise at 90 - 100 all day without any issues.yes GS can if you have iron butts
                    - No Hero Moto Corp, Honda or Pulsar.all are good bikes meant for different purpose it all depends on how we keep and maintain it.

my replies are in bold, have a test drive and enjoy riding with all safety gears and with in your handling limits

people used to call as vehicle lost control but the fact is someone driven it way beyond his controllable speed

Xena XZZ-6Y seems to be more convenient as basumayaryraj said. If not available in the local two wheeler accessories shop, try here: [email protected]

Cruising at 90-100 kmh continuously will surely affect the life of the engine, whether it is TB or GS or any other bike.

He says if we maintain a steady 80, the range can be as long as 900 KM on a full tank! This is huge man! Can someone confirm if this is even 80 percent true

Thanks man. A simple bike with more bang for the buck. I agree on the losing control part. Vehicles fail. They do not lose control. People do.

I mostly wont be riding it at that speed most of the times. But if a bike can do that, then its one amazing bike. Just now I read a blog in which some one did an IBA ride on this one. I agree that TB and GS are completely different. But the seating posture is same na? That is the only point where I compared these two bikes.

I am having 5 feet 11 inches heigh and this bike damn good for seating and comfort .

I mainatined steadily most of the time in 70-75KMPH while driving from mumbai-HYD, I got reserve from full tank some where around @840 KM's. I think If you maintain 80 then also you will get 800 Km's from full tank to empty in worst scenario.

I think it is possible with maintaining RPM range strictly while break-in.

All the best and do a test ride then confirm your doubts regarding riding comfort.

In my experience, the FE is around 65 kml though in the last test drive it was about 21kms for 0.3 litre of fuel but the FE, as you know, depend the condition of the bike and your driving habits.

Even if you get 50 kml, you can reach 800 kms without fully emptying the tank as you can easily fill 18 litres in it.
