Hi All,
I am facing some problem with changing gear, spl between 1st n 2nd.
When changing from 1st to 2nd, it comes to neutral every time. Also after changing to 2nd it doesnot change and Gear Indication goes blank. After 2-3 try it changes with some loud noise.
Need Help,
Thanks in advance.___________________________________________

Clean the terminals neatly so that there is no resistance to the flow of current from the battery to the bike and apply some jelly or grease around the terminals after connecting it to prevent contact with air and thus to prevent corrosion. Disconnect the battery from the bike before cleaning it.
Originally posted by gmagesh14 View PostIt's the idle rpm., when I took my bike initially from Chennai, it was around 2k rpm., later on after crossing some 90kms the idle rpm increased to 3k ., After reaching Pondicherry it went to 3.5k .,So I adjusted it to 1.5k as idle rpm.
It is unusual that the rpm increases in that rate. Now adjust it to 1300-1500 when the engine is fully warm, i.e. after riding for 2 or 3 kms after the cold start and see how the idling rpm is when the engine becomes hot.

I noticed it this morning.. Wooh, dont know how my 1st service is going to be done by this SVC peoples...
It's my fault too., I should have checked it properly before taking the delivery.
It is a pity that the side panels are fitted in that way by the mechanic there. It shows how careless that mechanic and service centre is handling the bike.
Get it fitted correctly and, in future, be careful when you give the bike for serving to that workshop. It is safer to find out another service center.

Never go to the dealer from whom Magesh bought his bike.

Gear shifting will be smooth when you get used to it. It seems that you are shifting gear at higher engine rpm. Please check the idle rpm and adjust it to 1.4 K when the engine is warm and release the throttle before gear shifting.

Idle rpm is 1K. Should it be changed to 1.4K?Originally posted by vishnukmd View PostGear shifting will be smooth when you get used to it. It seems that you are shifting gear at higher engine rpm. Gear Shifting
Hi just a small query:
Are you guys shifting with Heel-Toe patern or Toe Only?
For me: I find the Heel-Toe levers little longer than my feet length (& have to move my feet foreward/backward) if i want to use that way.
Otherwise, Toe only is fine for me (except 1st to 2nd is a bit hard). Will get soften over a period or it's same with yours as well?
I believe our bike has return type gear-box so toe-only works fine but if one wish to use it as heel-toe patern, why is the heel so much raised?

From JAV,you will definitely get a new GS since their stocks are over.,
But dont trust them for service..
I already planned myself to give 1st service at ABT Nandanam.
Best wishes for your new bike.

It happened very frequent yesterday.,Bt today it is very lesser when compared to yesterday.. As days move along with our GS we'll get used to proper shifting.,
For me gear indicator goes blank especially and only at 4th gear..

Thanks for the input Vishnu..Originally posted by vishnukmd View PostIt is unusual that the rpm increases in that rate. Now adjust it to 1300-1500 when the engine is fully warm, i.e. after riding for 2 or 3 kms after the cold start and see how the idling rpm is when the engine becomes hot.
I know this basic step before getting my bike, I've been silently following this forum before registering myself in XBHP.. I read most of the discussions in this forum which helped to get understand the bike well..
Thanks to MACH50,VISHNUKMD, ANUPDAS and many more in this forum..
They had discussed a hell lot of things here..
Idle rpm is not exceeding 1.5k now..
When I went to the showroom to get it fixed., I noticed the demo white colour GS standing at the entrance is also having this strange assembly..Originally posted by vishnukmd View PostIt is a pity that the side panels are fitted in that way by the mechanic there. Regarding service., I spoke to ABT people (another showroom in Chennai with some good reputations from our GS users) for 1st service.. They told I can give it at any showroom.,it's not a problem..
Bt my doubt is ,do I need to stick to my showroom SVC for any matter in future?

Absolutely not.....you have the right to chose over any showroom and any SVC in India!Originally posted by gmagesh14 View PostThanks for the input Vishnu..

There were reports of workers intentionally not fitting parts properly and sabotage at maruti suzuki car plant. Hope the workers strike is not the cause for this. The same kind of sabotage by workers had occured during strike at honda's HMSI plant too.Originally posted by gmagesh14 View PostGuys see this one ., The cover below the side panels are not properly fixed.,

Panels not fitted properly and missing bolts/screws is something that happens during regular service.
But panels not fitted properly on a new bike is really callousness. I wonder what kind of quality checks are carried out, both at suzuki factory and showroom, before delivery to customer.
Suzuki should supply a checklist for showroom mechanics to follow before delivery of each bike.
