Maruti Suzuki and Suzuki Motorcycles are two different companies.Originally posted by antonysg View PostThere were reports of workers intentionally not fitting parts properly and sabotage at maruti suzuki car plant. Hope the workers strike is not the cause for this. The same kind of sabotage by workers had occured during strike at honda's HMSI plant too.
Panels not fitted properly and missing bolts/screws is something that happens during regular service.
But panels not fitted properly on a new bike is really callousness. I wonder what kind of quality checks are carried out, both at suzuki factory and showroom, before delivery to customer.
Suzuki should supply a checklist for showroom mechanics to follow before delivery of each bike.
Suzuki has a separate motorcycles division and Suzuki Motorcycles (I) Pvt. Ltd. is wholly owned subsidiary of the same.
Labor strike at MSIL has nothing to do with improper fitment of panels on someone's bike. It's negligence at dealer's end during PDI check.
A new bike is shipped to dealership with a dry/ non charged battery and many loose components to be assembled at dealer's place like saree guard and leg guard. It's a standard procedure.
Refer any bikes manual or a battery storage procedure.
the battery must be stored in dry state if not used for long time.
A dealer charges the battery only when a particular bike is selected.
On the bike gmagesh observed in the showroom they might have removed the battery and left the panel with loose screws to fit it later.anything that can go wrong will surely go wrong at the wrong time and the wrong place

Hi Guys today booked my first bike The GS 150R version 2012 and i am really excited to know more about it.Cant wait more for my beauty now
))
Now each passing day will feel like a year.
Booked the candy dark greenish blue color . hope i get my beauty soon.
Kindly tell me what is the checklist for the bike before i take delivery?
And one more question , The Suzuki guys say that the performance of the bike has improved .They say that its more refined than the previous version . Is that true? even when there looks to be no changes in the Engine .Last edited by nicholas; 10-22-2011, 10:41 PM.

Buddy, employees of all three plans of suzuki in india, i.e., MSIL, suzuki motorcycles, and suzuki powertrain, participated in the strike. Even the motorcylce division employees union participated in the later stages of the strike.Originally posted by mazaid53 View PostMaruti Suzuki and Suzuki Motorcycles are two different companies.

Now, dont panic. Good news is the strike has ended, and lets hope both suzuki and the workers dont suffer too much from it and move forward.
In case of other manufacturers, dealer sources crashguard and sareeguard locally and makes profit, without bothering about quality.
In case of suzuki gs150r, to maintain quality, crashguard and sareeguard too are supplied by suzuki, but fitted by dealer. Also, as you rightly said, new bikes come without without battery connected. Also, new bikes come without engine oil filled too. These are done by the showroom before delivery. Even here, i feel suzuki should monitor which engine oil dealers are using, especially during service.
You are right. In case of gmagesh's bike, the dealer didnt fit the panels properly after fitting battery. But even if it occured at dealer's end, is such thing acceptable??
Earlier someone posted about a reverse-fitted tyre too on this forum. Now, that does not happen on dealer's end. Overall, i think they need to increse quality checkes to prevent lapses, because as sales numbers increase, their empolyees will be pushed to work faster and do more work. This is one of the reasons they are protesting.
However, i must say, that such probs happen with all dealers irrespective of brand, honda, suzuki, yamaha, bajaj, or TVS. But the least they could do is supply a checklist with each bike for dealer mechanics to use before delivery.Last edited by antonysg; 10-22-2011, 11:55 PM.

The biggest change, i suppose, is the dealers' attitude towards gs150r. It is positive now and they are trying to promote it. Maybe that hike in price also increased their margin on gs150r.Originally posted by nicholas View PostHi Guys today booked my first bike The GS 150R version 2012 and i am really excited to know more about it.Cant wait more for my beauty now

Man ,what an admiration I get from this beauty
.. People riding up front and side are taking a look at my bike.,
Before deciding to go for GS I was in a thought to go for Fazer
(Almost finalized) for looks looks looks and engine performace..
After deciding to go for GS., I compromised myself and didn't expected this from this machine apart from the pure performance it delivers...
My unexpected purpose of the bike was also fulfilled now..

So so happy to own a GS..

Congratulations. Check for any scratches or dents. Also check the side panels. It is true that the engine of the new GS is more refined than the older batches.

Keep it in a good condition by lubing and waxing/polishing periodically. As you know how to do, do the common maintenance works such as replacing the oil and oil filer, cleaning the air filter etc yourself. Buy a good car shampoo and carnauba based

thanks alll! am really really happy to be back!
cant express my happiness in words!
really missed GS ! And i want my white one really badly !
the waiting here is 25 days
the showroom guys told that they will arrange me the display piece and deliver it next week itself..but am in a bit of confusion as i donot need that piece as there were many small scratches which were noticed by all of my friends!
my friends suggested me to wait for the next 25 days and get my bike..if i wait for 25 days i will be given the choice to select from 2 bikes(which come on the new lot) !
so please give me some suggestions!Biking is in my Blood!!

I even noticed the white colour around the air vent in the front cowl has faded away..
In the mean time check it in other showrooms too., Our GS friend Partho has got his white GS from Jain Suzuki Chrompet.,
Do check for the stock there, in case of urgency..
