  • Guys I spoke to my parents about this bike. They are not liking the looks of it. I tried to convince them of the performance, comfort and mileage but no use. I even showed them one in person. Still no use. Guess I will have to put off my bike hunt for a while now. Wonderful bike but sadly I have to let go.

Yep. Waiting for something else to come up. Actually this routine is going for quite some time now. So kinda irritated. Anyway, there is always another bike and another day.

Right front suspension strut..should be embedded there...not a date but a long serial number..the mfgd date is hidden somewhere in it..

I think you can see it on your rc card, it says the manufacturing date...

I have it on my RC card.

You can see it there I think....

But not sure it is the right one...

Is there a way to decode this serial number to get mfgd date?

I wanna buy bike that is mfgd within 1 month so want to know - Where to check mfgd date?

Does RC book shows the real date? or it is the date of booking or delivery?

I don't think it show the date of booking as i have booked and got delivery in sep and is say date of manufacture as 08/2010 which is aug. so probably not the wrong date...

                        But I am not sure...

Check a couple of pages back..vishnu has commented on the same..ask the dealer to show you the mfgd date and tell him to decode. RC book/smart card will show date of Mfgd...

                              Hello Mysti,

                              That was a good find..
I tried it using my GS's VIN and this is what I got(see attached).
Although there is some sort of error in the tool which says mine is either 1981 or 2011.
So since its definitely not 1981, I think this tool works fine.
Even tried with one of my friend's number and it surely shows the manufactured year properly.
