Buying GS in 3-4 days
Guys, I am going to book my GREY GS150R today.
Any Pre-buying tips or suggestion?
and with reference to discussion about the engine oil from last 2-3 pages,
Is it possible to give MOTUL/GULF to my new GS150R from start?
(like I can inform SUZUKI dealer not to put castrol in it.)High Hopes......

do you feel it is fine to feed and train infant baby to eat KFC Chickens
as posted earlier on this page by mastro its worth and good to use a bad oil to help engine parts mate properly with each other during run in
Run In Period ---- Castrol or so called SVC oil
after that any of your or your bikes favorite oil. being it as motul or gulf or what so ever.
To whomever it may concern life and performance of your bike greatly depends on how you treat and maintain her.Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity

Good suggestion. I was expecting something like this from someone like you. I too am withdrawing from two topics:
1. New / modified bikes from Suzuki.
2. Engine oils.

My second service is due next week and I have done 633 Kms.During the first service there was no oil change as I had done only 189 Km.So I saw all of you discussing about oil change and should I ask them to go for any specific engine oil or leave it as per the service centres standards

Request and see whether they accept other oil....as many svc's don't....change to other oil on your own.....and go for it compulsary along with oil filter....

You can carry the oil with you and ask to fill it or can do it yourself. The service centre hesitates to use another oil because a good part of the money they get is from the commission of the sale of oil.
Oil changing is an easy job. Buy an oil filter from the service centre and change the oil and filter, either yourself or with the help of a friend and Maestro suggested.

its run in period for the benefit of your GS they have to change it on first time and second time as well.Originally posted by msb View PostMy second service is due next week and I have done 633 Kms.During the first service there was no oil change as I had done only 189 Km.So I saw all of you discussing about oil change and should I ask them to go for any specific engine oil or leave it as per the service centres standards

because the services is miles (kms) or days which ever is earlier.
atleast insist them to change the oil this (second service) time
let them use the so called SVC or castrol oil its good during the run in periodLast edited by MSN1; 09-17-2011, 12:49 AM.Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity

+1 @ msb if the SVC charge 400 or 450 bucks for oil change then its good to do it by your own as the cost of oil + oil filter wont go above 270 bucks.Originally posted by vishnukmd View PostYou can carry the oil with you and ask to fill it or can do it yourself.
